LINO @ Binjai Park - Indulge in New Weekend Brunch with Free Flow Starters, Pizzas, Pastas and Desserts

IMG_4268

Casual Italian restaurant LINO has launched its new Weekend Brunch at its Binjai Park outlet.

IMG_4241
Weekend Brunch 3/5

Priced at $68 per pax, the brunch includes free-flow starters, pasta, pizza, and desserts, along with a choice of one main per diner. It also comes with coffee or tea, or you can opt for free-flowing prosecco with a $38 top-up per pax. Available every Saturday and Sunday for lunch only, excluding the eve of and actual public holidays, as well as festive periods.

IMG_4274
Canadian Oysters

There are five starters in total. We began with fresh, briny Canadian Oysters, topped with a refreshing blood orange granita. This is limited to six pieces per person, with additional orders available at $10 for three.

IMG_4259
LINO’s Egg Benedict

Next, the LINO’s Egg Benedict arrived, featuring a base of housemade fried dough, smoked bacon, a poached egg and hollandaise, alongside arugula with grated parmesan. We enjoyed the warm, crunchy dough and the savoury combination of flavours.

IMG_4262
Smoked Salmon

The Smoked Salmon came with herb ricotta on crisp sourdough toast, topped with slices of hard-boiled egg. It was simple yet satisfying.

IMG_4258
Gnocco Fritto

Each serving of Gnocco Fritto came as a pair of crisp pillows filled with parmesan cream and topped with a slice of prosciutto.

IMG_4261
Italian Chopped Salad

For a lighter option, the Italian Chopped Salad offers a crunchy mix of romaine lettuce, Japanese cucumber, salami and more, dressed in a slightly creamy house dressing.

IMG_4279

IMG_4288
Vannamei Prawns Spaghetti

The pastas fell short for us. While the Vannamei Prawns Spaghetti featured fresh, sweet prawns, the tomato-based sauce leaned too sweet and acidic for our preference.

IMG_4285

IMG_4294
Vongole Linguine

The Vongole Linguine fared slightly better, though we wished the natural briny sweetness of the clams were more pronounced.

IMG_4296
Lamb Spare Rib

Each diner gets to choose one main. We went with the Lamb Spare Rib, featuring a rack of slow-cooked Australian lamb served with sweet peas and potato cubes in a honey mustard sauce. The meat was tender, though much fattier than we would have liked. Other mains include Red Snapper, Pork Sausage and the popular Angus Beef Striploin.

IMG_4306
Pancetta

For pizza, the Pancetta is a nice pick if you enjoy pesto. It features a basil pesto base topped with potatoes, Swiss smoked farmer bacon, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano and an oozy egg. The crust is thin with a slight chew. Other options include Salame Picante, Margherita and Mixed Mushrooms.

IMG_4315
Panna Cotta

For desserts, we tried one of each option. The Panna Cotta was smooth and jiggly, topped with honey, raspberry coulis and walnuts.

IMG_4314
Cheesecake

The Cheesecake came with hazelnut crumble and raspberry coulis on the side.

IMG_4317
Lemon Sorbet

Lastly, there is a selection of gelato and sorbetto in flavours such as vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and lemon. We opted for the tangy Lemon Sorbet, which made for a refreshing end to the meal.

Wildseed Café @ Botanic Gardens - Newest Wildseed Café Outlet with Nett Prices and Pet-Friendly Seatings

IMG_8207

Wildseed Café’s newest outlet, the fourth, has opened amidst lush greenery within the beautiful Singapore Botanic Gardens.

IMG_8156

IMG_8154

The menu continues to feature its signature favourites, while introducing outlet-exclusive items with a health and wellness focus, along with thoughtfully curated picnic baskets for guests to bring into the gardens to enjoy. Prices are nett, and the outdoor seating area is pet-friendly.

IMG_8219
Acai Fruit Bowl 3.8/5

The Acai Fruit Bowl ($18) is one of the outlet exclusives, featuring a refreshing acai sorbet base that’s not overly sweet, topped with an assortment of fresh fruits and honey granola.

IMG_8208
Atas Kaya Toast 3.8/5

For a local breakfast fix, there is the Atas Kaya Toast ($11). Soft sourdough is slathered with kaya and butter, paired with grated coconut and a sous vide egg for a slightly elevated twist.

IMG_8195
Eggs Benny Croissant Toast 4/5

The Breakfast menu is available from 8am to 11am on weekdays, and 8am to 3pm on weekends and Public Holidays. We enjoyed the Eggs Benny Croissant Toast ($20), available with smoked salmon or streaky bacon. While our sous vide eggs were a touch overcooked, the toast was crisp and paired well with a creamy, well-seasoned hollandaise sauce.

IMG_8206
Soft Shell Chilli Crab Linguine 4/5

Local flavours retake centre stage in the Soft Shell Chilli Crab Linguine ($28), which was spicier than expected. The sweet-spicy balance was well executed, without leaning overly tomato-heavy like many versions. The dish comes topped with a fried soft shell crab and crab meat tossed through the pasta. It’s best to share this as the flavours can get heavy. Gluten-free spaghetti is available upon request for all pasta dishes.

IMG_8198

IMG_8214
Kelong Prawn & Scallop Pizza 4.2/5

A favourite among my dining companions was the chef-recommended Kelong Prawn & Scallop Pizza ($32). The thin yet chewy crust held together a harmonious mix of savoury-sweet prawns, scallops, mozzarella, pesto and cherry tomatoes.

IMG_8196
Har Cheong Chicken Burger 4/5

While the chicken leg in our Har Cheong Chicken Burger ($32) was slightly over-fried, the marination was spot on, with tender meat beneath the crisp exterior. Sandwiched between sesame brioche buns with an onion ring, kale and Roma tomatoes, it comes with curly fries and a punchy sambal mayonnaise that ties everything together.

IMG_8223

IMG_8224

Cakes are available daily from 8am to 5pm, making desserts an all-day affair. Options include the Black Sesame Petite Cake ($13) and Cocoa Petite Cake ($13).

IMG_8165

The beverage list is extensive, ranging from classic teas and coffees to cocktails, fresh juices, wines and spirits. We opted for mocktails such as the Bird of Paradise ($15), a blend of lychee, cranberry and lime, and the Summer Berries ($15), featuring raspberry, strawberry, blackcurrant and lemon.
