Namu Bulgogi @ Hillion Mall - Launches Singapore’s Largest Halal Samgyetang Range with 9 Variations

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang13

Namu Bulgogi, the halal-certified Korean concept known for its bold flavours and accessible dining, returns with a compelling new reason to visit — the launch of Singapore’s largest authentic halal-certified samgyetang range. With nine variations priced under $30, the new menu explores both traditional roots and modern interpretations of Korea’s iconic ginseng chicken soup, as well as a refreshed tongdak-gui offering.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang15
Signature Wild Mushroom Samgyetang

A standout among the line-up, the Signature Wild Mushroom Samgyetang ($27.90++) layers shiitake, enoki and shimeji into a deeply earthy broth. The result is a comforting bowl rich in natural umami, with each sip carrying a lingering savouriness that feels both hearty and restorative. The mushrooms lend body and depth, complementing the tender chicken stuffed with glutinous rice and giving the dish a nourishing, almost therapeutic quality.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang21
Traditional Hanbang Samgyetang

For purists, the Traditional Hanbang Samgyetang ($25.90++) delivers exactly what one would expect from this time-honoured dish. The clear, slow-simmered broth is clean yet flavourful, drawing sweetness from the chicken and the subtle bitterness of premium ginseng. It’s light on the palate but deeply comforting, the kind of dish often associated with recovery and daily wellness in Korean culture.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang19
Perilla Samgyetang

The Perilla Samgyetang ($29.90++) introduces a distinctive herbal dimension. The generous addition of perilla leaves imparts a nutty, slightly minty aroma that lingers pleasantly. It is a more acquired profile, but one that feels soothing and fragrant, offering a refreshing departure from the usual richness of samgyetang.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang1
Black Garlic Samgyetang

The Black Garlic Samgyetang ($29.90++) leans towards a richer, more robust flavour profile. The black garlic infuses the broth with a gentle sweetness and caramelised depth, creating a fuller-bodied soup that feels indulgent yet balanced.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang7
Seafood Samgyetang

Blending surf and turf, the Seafood Samgyetang (29.90++) introduces a briny sweetness into the classic format. The seafood elements elevate the broth with an added layer of umami, making it taste more complex while still retaining the comforting essence of traditional samgyetang.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang16
Black Sesame Chestnut Samgyetang

Creamy and nutty, the Black Sesame Chestnut Samgyetang ($27.90++) stands out for its unique texture. The broth is thicker and more velvety, with the nuttiness of black sesame and chestnut coming through distinctly. It’s a heartier variation that feels especially satisfying.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang23
Tomato Collagen Samgyetang

A modern twist, the Tomato Collagen Samgyetang ($27.90++) introduces a subtle tang from sun-ripened tomatoes. The broth takes on a slightly brighter profile, cutting through the richness while maintaining a smooth, collagen-rich consistency.

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang10
Kimchi Samgyetang

The Kimchi Samgyetang ($27.90++) brings a punchy, tangy edge to the table. The aged kimchi paste adds acidity and spice, lifting the overall flavour and making it particularly appetising. It’s a bold reinterpretation that will appeal to those who enjoy stronger flavours.

NamuBulgogiBukitPanjang-1

NamuBulgogiSamgyetang4
Tongdak-gui

Beyond soups, Namu Bulgogi continues to impress with its refined Tongdak-gui, now more accessible from $23.90++. The whole rotisserie chicken is stuffed generously with glutinous rice, ginseng, jujube and shiitake mushrooms — echoing the essence of samgyetang but presented in a roasted format.

What sets it apart is the oakwood smoke-grilling technique. The slow, steady burn imparts a delicate smokiness with a subtle vanilla-like sweetness, resulting in a beautifully crisp, lightly charred skin. Beneath it, the meat remains tender and juicy, easily falling off the bone. The stuffing absorbs the rich juices from the chicken, making it just as enjoyable as the meat itself.

NamuBulgogiBukitPanjang-2

NamuBulgogiBukitPanjang-5

With this extensive samgyetang line-up, Namu Bulgogi successfully bridges tradition and innovation, offering something for both purists and adventurous diners. The variety ensures that each visit can feel different, whether you’re seeking a classic restorative bowl or a modern, flavour-forward interpretation. Coupled with the well-executed tongdak-gui, the refreshed menu reinforces the brand’s position as a go-to spot for comforting, halal Korean fare in Singapore.

Note: This is an invited tasting.

The highlight for me is definitely the free-flow of Jamon Iberico de Bellota, carved straight off from the ham's leg. Rich and savoury with a luscious mouthfeel, it's perfect with aperitivo of Sangria de Bienvenida that's being offered.

In addition to the regular roasts, the Live Action Station is packed with even more mouthwatering items - Crackling Porchetta with Truffle & Herb Stuffing, 75°C Slow-roasted Whole Lamb Leg and a classic Grain Mustard & Honey-Glazed Gammon Ham.

IMG_9957
Beer Braised Beef Brisket

IMG_9958
Valencian Seafood Paella

The Hot Mains offers comforting and hearty dishes such as Live Bouchot Mussels in White Wine Saffron Sauce and Beer Braised Beef Brisket, which pair well with the Valencian Seafood Paella.

IMG_9909
Spanish Crema Catalana

IMG_9918
Churros

The desserts didn't quite delight as much as the mains, although Spanish specialities are being offered, such as Turron de Jijona and Spanish Crema Catalana, which are very much on the sweeter side. The Churros is the one to go for.

IMG_8351

Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie, located on the 7th level of Momentus Hotel Alexandra, is known for its poolside dining experience, where you get to feast with a view that looks out across the canopy of The Southern Ridges. Offering a unique concept of modern European cuisine infuses an Asian twist. Its latest Weekend Buffet Dinner menu includes premium meat offerings and new a la carte delights.

Seafood On Ice

The Seafood on Ice Station was bountiful with beautiful Live Pacific Oysters, Poached Sea Prawns and Black Mussels.

IMG_8354
Charcuterie and Antipasti

IMG_8355
Smoked Salmon

The Cold Larder station is allured with an extensive selection of chilled items, featuring a range of Charcuterie and Antipasti. Don't miss the in-house Smoked Salmon - it's arguably one of the best I've had in buffet spreads, offering a delectable, luscious texture and mouthfeel.

IMG_8378
75°C Slow Roasted Argentinian Angus Beef Ribeye Australian Wagyu Tomahawk

IMG_8395

The main draw of the buffet dinner is the Live Action Kitchen of succulent roasts. The 75°C Slow Roasted Argentinian Angus Beef Ribeye excites all senses as you watch the chef expertly grills your order a la minute on Hibachi Grill with Binchotan. With this extra step of grilling, the meat's flavours are definitely superior to a regular roast. Australian Wagyu Tomahawk adds to the feast as well.

IMG_8373
48-Hour Citrus Brined Rotisserie Chicken

IMG_8376
Crackling Stuffed Porchetta

Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie's signature 48-hour Citrus Brined Rotisserie Chicken isn't just your regular rotisserie-style chicken. Marinated with a blend of 12 spices, the meat was moist and tender, carrying the delectable flavours of its citrus brine, especially the chicken skin. The Crackling Stuffed Porchetta was a hit too. I love the end of the porchetta, which carried a good portion of the crackling!

IMG_8401
Parmigiano Cheese Wheel Pasta

Parmigiano Cheese Wheel Pasta is a crowd-pleaser. Every plate is prepared fresh upon order. I enjoyed the chunks of the parmigiano that were tossed into the pasta.

IMG_8434
Pizzas

Hand-stretched, thin-crust sourdough pizzas are freshly baked in a wood-fired oven using applewood. Three flavours are available - Classic Margherita, Seafood Sakura Ebi that tastes very much like Takoyaki, and a more saucy Gochujang Chicken.

IMG_8385
Wood Fire Seafood Paella

The Wood Fire Seafood Paella is worth a mention. Not often will you find this dish offered in a buffet; its quality is restaurant-worthy or even better.

IMG_8408
Grilled Octopus

IMG_8418
Seared Scallops

Diners are invited to scan a QR code to order. A La Carte delights will be served at your table. The selection is impressive - Fish en Papillote, Cod fish, Seared Scallops, Grilled Octopus and Burnt Iberico Pork Secreto. Even though each is served in individual portions, every item is thoughtfully plated. I was particularly delighted by the Grilled Octopus that was accompanied by a Pedron Pepper, which added a special touch to the presentation and flavours.

IMG_8425
Cod Fish

The Cod Fish was aptly seared, attaining a delightful char on the edges that added to its flavour profile. The pickled ginger slices served on the side provided a tangy contrast to cut through the richness of the fish's meat.

IMG_8438

Dessert creations include Sticky Date Pudding, Buttery Madeleines, and a Choux A La Creme tower with caramel. The Pink Chocolate Fondue was mesmerising and pretty delicious too. But what I liked most was the Sago Pudding, which is a rare tasty treat for a buffet spread.

Kenny Rogers Roasters @ Great World City

IMG_8886ed
Rotisserie Chicken 4/5

The last time I visit Kenny Rogers Roasters was probably more than ten years back at the Suntec City branch. I still remember back then it was self service, one needed to order and pay at the counter before proceeding down the line to collect the food. Service has since changed. Your order is now taken by the waiter/waitress and the food is being served to you.

My partner and I ordered the Lucille ($41.90) which comes with half rotisserie chicken, half slab of honey bourbon ribs and a choice of 3 regular side dishes. The Rotisserie Chicken was surprisingly better some restaurants I have tried. The rotisserie chicken was roasted to perfection, the meat was juicy and tender.

IMG_8885ed
Honey Bourbon Ribs 4/5

The fell off the bone Honey Bourbon Ribs was simply finger licking good. The tender meat with the beautiful sauce worked in harmony for one of the better ribs I have eaten.

IMG_8890ed
Potato Salad 3.5/5

IMG_8891ed
Macaroni & Cheese 4/5 and Coleslaw 3/5

Kenny Rogers Roasters has 14 different sides dishes on the menu categorized under hot and cold sides. For our choices of 3 sides, we opted for the Potato Salad, Macaroni & Cheese and Coleslaw. Among the three, my favourite was the macaroni & cheese. Not because it was the best but the potato salad was over dressed with mayonnaise while I didn't enjoy the onions in the coleslaw.

IMG_8892ed
Corn Muffin 4/5

Besides the signature rotisserie chicken at Kenny Rogers Roasters, the other memory I have is the Corn Muffin. Upon taking our orders, complimentary corn muffin was served. It definitely didn't disappoint me and it was still as good as before.

Kenny Rogers Roasters has been around for more than 20 years and it just showed that they are still dishing out delectable food to their customers. Furthermore, the value for money pricing is a welcome venue for budget seeker, big families and friends gathering.
