Yue (乐) @ Aloft Novena Singapore - Free Flow MSW Durian Together with an Upgraded Buffet Menu

Group

With durian season in full swing, Yuè at Aloft rolls out a free-flow Mao Shan Wang durian buffet as a treat for its loyal diners. Even better? It's available alongside their upgraded à la carte zi char buffet, which now features a slew of premium additions. Due to popular demand, the 1-for-1 promotion has been extended too!

Chilli Crab 1
Singapore-style Chilli Crab 3.8/5

Duck Confit 1

Poached Prawn 1
Poached Prawn 4/5

We were invited to try the new line-up, and there's plenty to shout about. Three premium dishes are limited to one serving per table, but they're worth ordering. The Singapore-style Chilli Crab features fresh, meaty crabs coated in a thick, slightly sweet sauce. While a tad too sweet for our taste, the freshness of the crab more than makes up for it. The Duck Confit, done Kung Pao-style, is fork-tender and pleasantly spicy. It is a brilliant East-meets-West twist that works. The Poached Prawns stood out for their sheer freshness. It was plump, juicy and a definite must-order.

Soup

Chilli Crab Mantou 1
Singapore-style Chilli Sauce, Deep-Fried Mantou 3/5

Over at the self-serve station, diners can help themselves to two soups: the Braised Fish Maw Broth with Crab Meat and Conpoy, which was decent but relatively standard, and the Old Cucumber Pork Ribs Soup, which was the slow-boiled soup of the day, really impressed us with its rich, homely flavour. For those who love chilli crab sauce but prefer not to get messy, the sauce is available on its own, accompanied by deep-fried mantou, served free-flow. We wish the mantou were a little crispier.

Sweet & Sour Pork 1
Sweet and Sour Pork 4/5

Among the main dishes, one of our favourites was the Sweet and Sour Pork with Popping Candy, which is a fun and surprisingly tasty combination where the crackling candy adds a playful texture. Just remember to break it up a little before dipping. Another standout was the Deep-fried Chicken with Dried Chilli and Szechuan Peppercorn, which was exactly what we want from a spicy dish - crispy, fragrant and totally addictive.

Deep Fried Seabass Fillet 1
Deep-fried Seabass Fillet 4.5/5

Seafood-wise, there's only one item on the current menu, but it's a good one. The Deep-fried Seabass Fillet is served with a sweet and spicy mango sauce and hits all the right notes, featuring thick, tender fillets with a nicely balanced glaze that's both appetising and well-executed.

Limpeh Bee Hoon 1
Yue’s Signature “LIMPEH” Bee Hoon 3/5

Egg Fried Rice 1
Egg Fried Rice 4/5

Mee Tai Bak 1
Mee Tai Bak 3.8/5

As for staples, we tried three options. Yuè's Signature "LIMPEH" Bee Hoon is one of their proud creations, but it tasted a little too ordinary for us. On the other hand, the Egg Fried Rice with Tobiko and Scallop was excellent. It was fluffy, well-seasoned and made even better with the occasional pop from the tobiko. The Mee Tai Bak with XO Sauce, Chai Poh and Chicken was a dinner-exclusive item. Slightly sweet, savoury and smoky, it reminded us of a cross between black carrot cake and char kway teow. If that is your flavour profile, you would love this.

Self-Serve Bar

Beancurd Bar 1

Beancurd Bar 2

To end the meal, diners can look forward to a DIY Homemade Beancurd bar with assorted toppings, along with chilled juices, coffee, and tea. If you're dining in the evening, you'll also get access to the Chilled Mango Sago, another dinner-exclusive that’s light and refreshing.

Alfresco

Durian 3

Durian 2

And of course, the highlight for many is the free-flow Mao Shan Wang durian, which is available as a top-up at $30++ per person, served at the alfresco area from Fridays to Sundays only. If you're only here for the durian, a standalone durian buffet option is also available, with the same 1-for-1 promotion at $108++ for two diners.

Restaurant

Yuè’s à la carte zi char buffet is available daily for lunch from 12pm to 3pm, and for dinner from 6pm to 10pm (Monday to Thursday) or 6pm to 10:30pm (Friday to Sunday). The current 1-for-1 promotion is valid until 28 September 2025, so don’t miss your chance to feast.

All Hail the King Durian Fest @ Resorts World Sentosa - Unlimited Premium Duran Feast

IMG_5763

Durian Fest is back at Resorts World Sentosa to celebrate the season of the King of Fruits. For six evenings this July, the Bay Restaurant, located within the region’s only marine life-integrated waterpark, will be transformed into a tropical haven for All Hail the King Durian Fest. Indulge and feast on a prized selection of durian varieties alongside other tropical fruits.

IMG_5740

The admission provides you with a free flow of premium durians such as Mao Shan Wang, Red Prawn, D24 and many other varieties of durians. There are also tropical fruits such as rambutan and mangosteen, a selection of gourmet offerings from Dian Xiao Er, as well as cooling beverages.

IMG_5759

IMG_5720

On the evening of my visit, the durian varieties include Black Thorn! And of course, there is Mao Shan Wang, Red Prawn, Jin Feng, D24 and Butter King.

IMG_5710

The durians are opened on the spot, and you get to pick and choose the entire durian to be enjoyed back at your table.

IMG_5692

The tropical fruits selection featured rambutan, mangosteen, longans, as well as soursop.

IMG_5703

The Dian Xiao Er offerings were all right. I reckon the highlight was the Herbal Duck, which, unfortunately, is limited to 2 slices per person per serving. However, since it is a buffet style, you can still go back for it as many times as you wish.

IMG_5727

There is Chendol as well, which perhaps one can create their own durian chendol for some added fun.

IMG_5732

Ticket to All Hail the King Durian Fest is priced at S$268 per admission. Tickets can now be purchased at https://www.rwsentosa.com/en/events/all-hail-the-king-durian-fest. Each purchase entitles you to a free duck plushie too!

IMG_5751

Durian lovers are advised to secure tickets early due to limited availability and to arrive early for the 90-minute event to enjoy the complete offerings on their selected date(s).

Golden Moments Durian Cafe @ Bugis - Durian-themed Afternoon Tea at Its First Flagship Durian Cafe

IMG_9400

Golden Moments, renowned for its fresh durian and durian-based desserts (such as its trending durian mooncakes and various durian cakes), has launched its first flagship durian cafe in Bugis, Golden Moments Durian Cafe. The cafe offers both vacuum-packed fresh durians and an expanded menu of durian and non-durian creations.

IMG_9405
The Golden Durian Swirl 3.5/5

We began with the highlight, The Golden Durian Swirl ($62), which included four fresh durian pieces (Black Gold Mao Shan Wang and Black Thorn), two Golden Mao Shan Wang QQ, a slice of D24 Strudel, and two beverages.

IMG_9418

We were served a Sour Plum Smoothie and Homemade Lemon Tea for our two beverages. We preferred the latter, which was less sweet and more refreshing to complement the sweets.

IMG_9416

The fresh durians we had were indeed of good quality.

IMG_9414

IMG_9419

Between the Golden Mao Shan Wang QQ and D24 Strudel, we leaned towards the strudel, as we preferred a thinner skin on the QQs, though both durian fillings were satisfying.

IMG_9451
Signature MSW Durian Bomb 4/5

Next, we sampled more durian desserts, starting with the Signature MSW Durian Bomb ($12 for 3). The crisp cookie-crust puffs were fresh and filled with durian puree, which we wished there was more of for a better ratio.

IMG_9452

IMG_9457
Pandan MSW Durian Cake 4.2/5

Our favourite durian treat of the day was the Pandan MSW Durian Cake, featuring soft pandan chiffon layered with durian-infused mousse. The mild sweetness and delicate balance stood out, while the crumble topping added a delightful texture.

IMG_9432

IMG_9439
Golden 3 Hours Crab Noodles 3.8/5

Moving to savoury options, we tried the Golden 3 Hours Crab Noodles ($16.80). The noodles came with prawns, crab balls, and half an egg in a rich crab broth. An extra side of crab meat was provided to enhance the dish, though the flavourful broth could feel heavy quite quickly.

IMG_9444
Grilled Chicken Yakitori 3.5/5

For sides, we had the Grilled Chicken Yakitori ($10), which featured pretty tender chicken cubes glazed in a sweet-savoury sauce with mayonnaise.

IMG_9423

IMG_9428
Mentaiko Bonito Fries 3/5

The Mentaiko Bonito Fries ($10) were decently crisp and substantial, though we found the mentaiko mayonnaise lacking in intensity.

During our visit, we noticed the cafe was slightly understaffed, which caused some delays in order preparation — something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry.
