Coriander Leaf @ Craig Place - New Flagship Location Serving Signature Pan-Asian Cuisine

IMG_3356

After over a decade at Chijmes, Coriander Leaf has found a new home at Craig Place. Staying true to its food philosophy, the menu continues to celebrate the richness and diversity of Pan-Asian cuisine. Contrary to what many may mistake as Asian fusion, Coriander Leaf is all about taking classic regional favourites from across Asia and reimagining them into modern, shareable small plates. The menu is divided into five distinct flavour profiles: Fresh, Spicy, Familiar, Umami, and Sweet. The restaurant also offers an Executive Lunch Menu Set, perfect for individuals to get a taste of different regions.

South Asia Lunch Set

Tomato Soup, Butter Naan 5/5

There are four options for the lunch set inspired by Thailand, South Asia, China, and Persia. I picked South Asia and Persian ($38 each). South Asia features Tomato Soup, Nepalese Chicken Momo Dumpling, Tandoori Chicken, and Butter Naan. The tomato soup, drizzled with roasted cumin oil, was thick and robust — perfectly seasoned and spiced to bring out the richness of the tomato. The butter naan was soft and stretchy, a delicious pairing with the soup.

Tandoori Chicken 4.5/5

The Momo Dumplings were served with a tangy roasted tomato relish that complemented the meaty filling well. They were flavourful, with a subtle hint of Sichuan pepper, though I found them leaning slightly on the dry side. The Tandoori Chicken was succulent, with a lovely char that added an alluring smokiness. A tangy cucumber relish and refreshing mint chutney balanced its spiced flavours. Between the butter naan and steamed jasmine rice offered in the set, the naan was definitely the better choice, especially to soak up the soup and pair it with the meat.

Persian Lunch Set

The Persian set began with a Watermelon Salad made with watermelon, mint, pomegranate, and Turkish white cheese. I reckon more mint and leaving them as a whole would have brought a better balance to the flavours. The main dish featured a Persian Beef Kebab, served with Vegetable Shashlik, Mixed Pickled Vegetables, and Butter Basmati Rice.

Beef Kebab 4/5

The Beef Kebab was delightfully tender, served with a dollop of yoghurt atop, which elevated the meat with a refreshing tang. But what made the dish even more enjoyable was the incredibly fluffy and aromatic Butter Basmati Rice. The pickled vegetables added a refreshing acidity to cut through the richness of the meat.

Vegetable Shashlik 4/5

The Vegetable Shashlik was delicious. The bell peppers, eggplants, and onions cooked down nicely and seasoned with aromatics and spices, making them rather moreish.

The new environment is also designed to be cosier and even more inviting than the previous location, offering an ideal setting for an intimate meal amidst the bustle of the CBD.

Opus Bar & Grill @ Voco Orchard Singapore - Launches the All New Grill Out Sunday

Live Fire Grill

Opus Bar & Grill's newly launched Grill Out Sunday might hit the spot if you're looking for a satisfying Sunday lunch spot. Think endless appetisers, sides, and desserts alongside a variety of grilled mains - all served à la carte style to your table. There is no need to leave your seat for the buffet line; sit back and indulge.

With quality ingredients, freshly grilled meats, and comforting sides done right, it's the kind of restaurant where you leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Appetitizers & Sides 1

A good variety of appetisers and sides accompany your grilled meats. Here are our highlights from what we tried:

Shrimp Cocktail — This cocktail is beautifully presented with fresh, crunchy shrimp paired with Marie Rose sauce, shredded lettuce, and tomato chutney. It's a classic done well.

Beetroot and Feta — Pickled beetroot paired with feta cheese, rocket, and almond flakes. It's tangy and refreshing, a great palate cleanser between bites of meat.

Beef Fat Roasted Potatoes — Potatoes and meat are a match made in heaven. These crispy, well-seasoned roasted potatoes are dangerously addictive. They are a must-order.

Creamed Spinach with Egg Yolk — This one surprised us! Silky creamed spinach is topped with a raw egg yolk that adds richness and depth. We liked it so much that we ordered seconds.

Yorkshire Pudding — This pudding is a nod to a traditional British roast. While nicely baked, it lacks the essential gravy and can get a little dry. Tip: Pair it with creamed spinach!

Pumpkin Soup 1
Pumpkin Soup 4/5

Snapseed(17)
Mac & Cheese 4.8/5

The last two dishes we want to highlight are Pumpkin Soup and Mac & Cheese. The pumpkin soup was creamy and comforting, with a lovely balance of savoury and sweet. It was topped with herb oil and almond flakes for added texture.

As for the Mac & Cheese, let's say I haven't had one this good in a long time! It was gooey, rich, and incredibly satisfying. The macaroni still had a slight bite, and the cheese blend was spot on, with quality cheese used. We wished we had space for another bowl.

Grilled Meats 1

Sauces

Grilled Seabass 1

On to the live grill station, we told them to make us a platter of everything so we could sample it all. Since it is a buffet, you may order more of what you like afterwards. They have every type of meat available: Roasted Tandoori Chicken, Beef Prime Rib, Crispy Pork Knuckle, Smoked Lamb Leg, Grilled Seabass, and Roasted Spicy Cauliflower.

The Roasted Tandoori Chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, one of our favourites. The Grilled Seabass was fresh and had nice char, though you should watch out for the tiny bones. The Roasted Spicy Cauliflower was another standout. It was smoked, flavourful, and a great meat-free option.

Gueridon

Apple Crumble 1
Apple Crumble 3.8/5

To end the meal, we were served the Gueridon Dessert of the Day - Apple Crumble made tableside with a touch of flambé flair. The apples retained a nice crunch, complemented by crumble bits, whipped cream and caramel sauce.

Other desserts, like Crème Brulee and Ice Cream Sundae, are also available, but we were far too full to continue. Do come with an appetite on your next visit!

Restaurant

This is a great way to spend your Sunday afternoon, with delicious food, good variety and a relaxed setting. Do note that service can be a little slow, but that's expected with an à la carte buffet where everything is cooked fresh upon order.

Grill Out Sunday is available every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm at $88++ per adult and $44++ per child, inclusive of free-flow fresh juices, speciality coffee, and artisanal teas. There’s also an à la carte option at $48++, which includes one main and two sides, perfect for lighter eaters.

Greenhouse @ Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore - Multi-ethnic Cuisine Served All Day From Five Show Kitchens

GreenHouse5

At Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore, Greenhouse is an all-day dining multi-ethnic restaurant anchored by five show kitchens. The beautiful restaurant is clad in lush greenery and bountiful botany, with an unobstructed view of the golf course.

GreenHouse3
Tom Yum Goong 4.2/5

From the Thai kitchen, we started with Tom Yum Goong ($24++) packed with the characteristic Thai sweet, sour and spicy flavours. It even comes with huge river prawns. The authentic taste makes me miss my trips to Bangkok.

GreenHouse29
Phad Thai Phak 4/5

Another staple Thai dish on the menu is the Phad Thai Phak ($25++). The stir-fried rice noodles with tamarind sauce are nested in an egg nest, paired with broccolini and beansprouts. I am glad they do a wet version, which is also not too sweet—precisely the way I preferred.

GreenHouse33
Khao Niao Mamuang 4.2/5

We had our favourite Thai dessert to complete the Thai food section. The Khao Niao Mamuang ($12) comes in trio-coloured glutinous rice - blue pea, pulut hitam and pandan paired with sweet mango.

GreenHouse8
Binchotan Robata Sanchoku Wagyu Beef 4.8/5

From the Japanese kitchen, we had the Binchotan Robata Sanchoku Wagyu Beef MS 6/7 ($38++). The chunky wagyu is extremely tender and juicy, grilled to a delectable smokiness.

GreenHouse18
Corn Fed Coquelet Tandoori 4.2/5

Diners craving traditional Punjabi Tandoor cuisine will enjoy the Corn Fed Coquelet Tandoori ($36) paired with freshly baked naan. I enjoyed the succulent chicken marinated in yoghurt and spices that has been roasted to perfection.

GreenHouse31
Kurobuta Pork $30

For something closer to my heart is the Sweet & Sour Kurobuta Pork ($30) from the Chinese kitchen. It is meaty and juicy coated in a delightful sweet and sour sauce comprising tomato, Chinese rice wine vinegar and plum sauce. Worth noting is the addition of lychee, giving it a fruity, sweet finishing.

Personally, I love the space at the restaurant and am impressed with the food at Greenhouse. Unfortunately, the restaurant is very inaccessible. Unless you drive, if not even taking public transport, you still need to walk quite a bit from the main road to the restaurant. I would recommend taking the MRT to Expo MRT station and taking a cab or private hired car to the restaurant.
