Café 2000 @ M Hotel Singapore - Launches Enchanting Festive Buffet at Cafe 2000
M Hotel Singapore, situated on Anson Road in Singapore, presents an enchanting Festive Buffet at Cafe 2000 this Christmas. The buffet offers a delightful array of culinary delights, ranging from the freshest seafood-on-ice to exceptional carvings like Chargrilled Australian Tomahawk with Kampot Pepper, Roast Turkey, Bone-in Gammon Ham, Foie Gras with Berries Coulis, including ‘live’ Crowaffle and Flambe Crepes station and unforgettable spread of yuletide desserts.
The Festive Dinner is available from November 16 to December 21, followed by the Christmas buffet starting from December 22. It's a perfect opportunity to celebrate the Yuletide season with a blend of festive flavours and a joyful ambience at M Hotel Singapore.
The Seafood On Ice display is a captivating showcase of oceanic delights, offering a feast for seafood enthusiasts. The display features an assortment of premium seafood, including succulent crab legs, plump prawns, and a variety of mussels and clams.
The Christmas specials include Roast Lamb Rib, Roast Beef, Roasted Turkey, and Honey Baked Ham. The standout is the freshly grilled Roast Beef, sliced and cooked on the spot, imparting a smoky taste. It is also superbly tender and juicy, with the fatty parts, in particular, showcasing a melt-in-the-mouth sensation, adding a luxurious and indulgent touch to every bite.
The Roast Lamb Rib promises succulence, Roasted Turkey delivers a classic holiday experience, and the Honey-baked Ham combines sweetness with savoury notes.
The local delight of Chilli Crab captures the essence of Singapore's rich food culture perfectly. The Chilli Crab features a luscious and flavourful sauce, showcasing the perfect blend of sweet, savoury, and spicy notes that define this iconic dish. The combination is a harmonious marriage of textures and flavours, paired with crispy mantou.
For an alternative crab option, the Tanghoon Crab features crab paired with tanghoon, also known as glass noodles. The crab was prepared with a flavourful sauce that coats the tanghoon, creating a delightful combination of textures and tastes. At the same time, the noodles absorbed the savoury essence of the crab and sauce, providing a unique and enjoyable mouthfeel.
Don't miss out on the Baked Lobsters adorned with a rich and flamed cheesy sauce that adds a layer of decadence to the dish. The sauce features a creamy and flavourful blend, complementing the succulent lobster meat harmoniously.
Other delectable options in the buffet include Steamed Fish and Nonya Curry, Fried Seafood Beehoon, Lamb Stew, Chicken Satay, Hawaiian Pizza and many more.
The dessert section is a haven for sweet lovers, featuring a diverse selection of indulgent treats. Highlights include the classic Apple Crumble, decadent Chocolate Fudge Cake, velvety Cream Caramel, refreshing Yuzu Cake, and delightful Assorted Cupcakes.
For a local twist, don't miss the mini glasses of Durian Pengat, showcasing the unique durian flavour. A standout is the Croffle, a hybrid treat combining a croissant's crispiness with a waffle's fluffy texture. This dessert spread caters to a spectrum of preferences, ensuring a satisfying and sweet conclusion to the dining experience.

Shangri-La Singapore - Revel in the Enchanted Wonders of Christmas
Elevate your festive celebrations this year with Shangri-La Singapore. The hotel's dining destinations offer a wondrous lineup of gastronomical feasts from 1 December 2023 to 1 January 2024, with a bountiful selection of festive artisanal creations available for takeaway and delivery from 23 November to 26 December 2023.
Black Angus Beef Wellington
Black Angus Beef Wellington ($348 nett, 1.5kg) is a refined version featuring a tender fillet of Black Angus beef enveloped in a layer of spinach and mushroom duxelles, enriched with bites of foie gras, all encased in a golden, flaky pastry. The combination of spinach and mushroom duxelles added an earthy and savoury depth to the flavour, and the buttery sweetness of the pastry complemented the decadent filling.
Rustico Spice Roasted U.S. Whole Turkey
Rustico Spice Roasted U.S. Whole Turkey ($258 nett, 6kg | $280 nett, 8kg) is seasoned with a blend of Italian Rustico spices. The texture of the turkey was delightfully tender, much more than I had expected.
Gammon Ham
Truffle Honey and Cinnamon Glazed Bone-in Gammon Ham ($298 nett, 7kg) glistened with a glaze concocted with truffles, honey and cinnamon.
Salt Baked Seabass Fillet
Salt Baked Seabass Fillet ($168 nett, 2kg) features a seabass fillet encased and baked in a sea salt crust. While the fillet was very tender, it was too saltish for me.
Leg of Lamb
New on the menu of savoury treats this year is the Slow Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Studded Leg of Lamb ($288 nett, 3.5kg), featuring a succulent leg of lamb. Infused with slow-roasted garlic and rosemary flavours, it is quite a show-stopper this year.
Santa Sleigh
The lineup of sweet delights this year entices in both looks and flavours. My favourite is the new Santa Sleigh ($75 nett, 1kg) - featuring a chiffon sponge base, yuzu curd, fraises compote, vanilla Chantilly, and abundant strawberries. The tartness of the fraises compote was perfect on the airy chiffon and chantilly cream, and the strawberries atop were at their ideal ripeness. I find the yuzu curd, being cloyingly sweet with a thick consistency, a distraction.
Rich Mango Indulgence Log Cake
This year's new rendition of the log cake is the Rich Mango Indulgence Log Cake ($88 nett, 1kg). Joyful and sunny in hues of shades of yellow and orange, this log cake oozes tropical flavours coming from a fusion of mango and passion fruit mascarpone and peach lime chutney.
Triple Truffle Crunchy Log Cake
Triple Truffle Crunchy Log Cake ($88 nett, 1kg), a hot favourite last year, also returns for this season. It boasts a chocolate and nutty flavour - a cocoa sponge filled with hazelnut crunch, Gianduja Crémeux, and truffle praline mousse.
Mao Shan Wang Durian and Coconut Log Cake
Mao Shan Wang Durian and Coconut Log Cake ($90 nett, 1kg) is a twist on a classic vanilla Victorian sponge cake featuring Mao Shan Wang durian mousse coated with coconut flakes. It had a decadent mouth filling texture, but the sweetness can be a tad overwhelming.
Banana Rocher Travel Cake
The newly added Banana Rocher Travel Cake ($35 nett, 750gm) is memorable, considering the rarity of an elevated banana cake being offered in such a season. Crafted with brown sugar, ripe bananas and macadamia nuts, the cake had a good density without being overly sweet. The coating of creamy dulce chocolate boosted its texture as well.
English Fruit Cake with Drunken Fruits
For some traditional must-haves, my absolute favourite is the house-made English Fruit Cake with Drunken Fruits ($40 nett, 400gm), loaded with bitter-sweet dried mixed fruits.
German Stollen
The German Stollen ($46 nett, 750gm) was slightly too bread-like for me.
Classic Italian Panettone
A better option is their panettone, which comes in two variations: the Classic Italian Panettone ($55 nett, 750gm) and the new Pandan Panettone ($55 nett, 750gm).
Pandan Panettone

Goodwood Park Hotel welcomes the festive season with a tempting array of Christmas gourmet specials available from 15 November to 26 December 2023. This year's lineup features sweet and savoury delights, promising a feast beyond tradition.
Breaking away from the conventional, the North Indian-style Roasted Turkey with Makhani Sauce, Vegetable Korma, Kashmiri Rice & Plain Naan ($288 nett for 8-12 persons) takes centre stage. Marinated in fragrant aromatics for two days, the turkey is finished with cheddar cheese and fresh cream before being roasted to succulent perfection. What sets it apart is the unique pairing of Kashmiri Rice and plain Naan, offering a delightful twist to the Christmas table.
Slow-roasted Iberico Pork Belly with Crackling, Potato Gratin, Pickled Cabbage
A signature favourite, the Slow-roasted Iberico Pork Belly with Cracking, Apple Sauce & Pork Jus ($428 nett for 6-8 persons) is a showstopper. With crispy cracking and succulent meat, this dish is complemented by Potato Gratin and Pickled Cabbage, providing a perfect balance to the richness of the pork.
Herb-Crusted Roast Leg of Lamb with Roasted Potatoes, Lamb Jus & Mint Sauce
The Herb-Crusted Roast Leg of Lamb with Roasted Potatoes, Lamb Jus & Mint Sauce ($358 nett for 6-8 persons) is a delectable choice for lamb enthusiasts. Coated in a housemade herb marinade and roasted to perfection, the golden parmesan and butter-coated crust add a layer of richness.
Baked Turkey & Chorizo Cannelloni
The Baked Turkey & Chorizo Cannelloni ($52 nett for 4 persons) is a comforting dish featuring tomato sauce ladled over six al dente cannelloni tubes stuffed with a rich filling of minced turkey, chorizo and zucchini and topped off with slices of chorizo, cherry tomatoes and a layer of molten mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Multi-layers of flavours work harmoniously together.
Shanghai-style Pan-fried Turkey Buns
Adding an Asian flair, the Shanghai-style Pan-fried Turkey Buns ($42 nett for 10 pieces) bring a unique twist. These buns are stuffed with well-seasoned minced turkey filling and a robust broth encased in a soft, pillowy skin with a crispy pan-fried base.
Snowy Splendour Log Cake
Merry-licious Fruity Cake
For a sweet conclusion, the Snowy Splendour Log Cake ($99 nett for 1kg) is a new creation featuring Dulcey chocolate mousse, raspberry confit, and chocolate fudge on a white chocolate macadamia nut base. The Merry-licious Fruity Cake ($92 nett for 700g) offers a refreshing option with mango confit, light coconut mousse, strawberry yoghurt mousse, and a buttery almond crumble base.
Santa’s Reindeer Tart
A delightful addition is the Santa's Reindeer Tart ($72 nett for 1kg), a pecan pie tart with a crumbly pastry crust, generously slathered with crushed pecans and dried cranberries, topped with charming gold-foiled white chocolate reindeers.
Goodwood ‘Mao Shan Wang’ Durian Christmas Log Cake
Christmas Durian Combo $70 nett for 6 pc
Durian lovers are in for a treat with the Goodwood "Mao Shan Wang" Durian Christmas Log Cake ($148 nett for 800g) and the Christmas Durian Combo ($70 nett for 6 pieces), featuring cherished classics from Goodwood Park Hotel's iconic Durian Fiesta throughout the years.

The grilling process over the wood-fired grill imparts a delightful smokiness to the lamb, enhancing its overall flavour profile. The exterior achieves a beautiful char and slightly crispy texture, pleasingly contrasting the tender and succulent interior.
