Baci Baci Ristorante @ Serangoon Garden - Celebrates 12th Anniversary with 50% Off Pizza & Pasta

BaciBaci38

Tucked away in the leafy enclave of Serangoon Gardens, Baci Baci Ristorante is celebrating its 12th anniversary with a fresh new look and the same comforting, rustic Italian flavours that have made it a neighbourhood favourite for over a decade.

Meaning “Kiss Kiss” in Italian, Baci Baci Ristorante has quietly established itself as a go-to destination for authentic Italian fare, helmed by Chef Alberto Dalla Vecchia. From hearty, slow-cooked pastas to homemade pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, the restaurant focuses on unfussy, generous cooking that feels warm and familiar.

To mark its 12th anniversary, diners can enjoy 50% off any pizza or pasta from Monday to Thursday, from now until 31 August 2026, making it a great time to revisit this neighbourhood gem.

BaciBaci12
Grilled Mediterranean Octopus 4/5

We started with the Grilled Mediterranean Octopus ($35), served with tomato salsa. The octopus was impressively tender and meaty, with none of the rubbery texture that can sometimes accompany grilled octopus. A good char from the wood-fired grill gave the exterior smoky depth, while the refreshing tomato salsa provided a bright, slightly tangy contrast. It is a simple combination, but one that lets the quality and natural flavour of the seafood come through.

BaciBaci21
Cacciucco 4.2/5

Next was the Cacciucco ($33), a traditional Tuscan-style seafood stew that makes for a hearty and comforting starter or main to share. The tomato-based broth was rich, savoury and robust, with a gentle sweetness developed from slow cooking. It comes generously loaded with seafood, including clams, mussels, prawns and squid, each adding its own layer of briny flavour to the stew. Best enjoyed with some crusty bread to soak up every last bit of the flavourful broth.

BaciBaci10
Submarine 4/5

For pizza, the Submarine ($35) is easily one of the more distinctive creations on the menu. Rather than the usual round pizza, this signature creation is rolled and folded into a submarine-like shape, enclosing mozzarella, gorgonzola and mortadella ham before being topped with tomato sauce, fresh rocket and crushed pistachios. A side of spicy tomato sauce provides an additional kick.

The wood-fired dough develops a nicely charred exterior while retaining a satisfying chew, creating a substantial base for the rich fillings. Creamy mozzarella mellows out the sharper, funky notes of gorgonzola, while the mortadella brings a savoury, delicate meatiness. Fresh rocket adds peppery freshness, and crushed pistachios provide a pleasant crunch and earthy nuttiness. The spicy tomato sauce is a nice touch, adding heat that keeps the richness in check.

BaciBaci4
Fig Time 4.2/5

Another pizza worth trying is the Fig Time ($35), a popular house speciality that turns the classic sweet-and-savoury combination into a decadent wood-fired pizza. Baked in an authentic beechwood-fired oven, the pizza comes with a molten combination of mozzarella and brie, generous slices of Parma ham and figs.

The natural sweetness of the figs works beautifully with the salty, savoury Parma ham, while the creamy cheeses create what is essentially a slice of “cheesy heaven”. A subtle spicy note also cuts through the richness. The crust is crisp and lightly charred around the edges while remaining tender and chewy within. If you enjoy pizzas that venture beyond the usual tomato-and-meat combinations, this is one to consider.

BaciBaci28
Tagliatelle all’ Anatra 4.2/5

For pasta, the Tagliatelle all’ Anatra ($34) is a comforting choice that showcases Baci Baci’s rustic approach to Italian cooking. The egg tagliatelle is tossed with a slow-braised duck ragù, creating a deeply savoury, hearty pasta. The broad ribbons of tagliatelle suit the rich ragù, catching plenty of sauce with every bite. Unlike a tomato-heavy ragù, this version is cooked in a white base, keeping the flavour of the duck front and centre. The sauce has a deep, savoury quality that gives the dish a distinctly homestyle character — the kind of pasta that feels hearty without being overly complicated.

BaciBaci36
Maiale Grigliato 4/5

For meat lovers, the Maiale Grigliato ($46) features a grilled pork chop served with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. The pork is first prepared sous vide to retain its natural juices and tenderness, then finished on the grill for a nicely charred, smoky exterior. The result is a pork chop that remains juicy and tender within, with the grill adding plenty of flavour to the outside. It comes with a light white wine sauce that adds a gentle savoury richness without masking the meat. Roasted potatoes and seasonal grilled vegetables complete the dish, making it a substantial, satisfying main course.

BaciBaci24
Tagliata Rucola Scaglie Di Grana e Balsamico 4/5

The Tagliata Rucola Scaglie Di Grana e Balsamico ($54) is another hearty main, centred around a grilled Argentinian ribeye steak. Prepared tagliata-style and sliced into thick pieces, the steak was tender and juicy, with a good grilled flavour. Fresh, peppery rocket and shavings of Grana Padano balance the beef’s richness, while a drizzle of balsamic reduction adds sweetness and acidity. The balsamic works particularly well here, cutting through the richness of both the steak and cheese. Served with golden roasted potatoes, it is a classic rustic Italian combination that doesn’t need much embellishment.

BaciBaci45
Chocolate Salami 3.5/5

Dessert takes a more traditional turn with the Chocolate Salami ($18). Designed to resemble a cured salami, the dense chocolate log is studded with crunchy biscuit pieces, creating the characteristic marbled appearance when sliced. It is rich and chocolatey without being overly complicated, with the biscuits providing a welcome textural contrast. The dessert comes with handmade pistachio ice cream, fresh fruits including figs, grapes and strawberries, and a light dusting of icing sugar. The pistachio ice cream pairs particularly well with the chocolate, adding a creamy, nutty element that lightens each bite.

BaciBaci41
Homemade Tiramisu 4/5

The Homemade Tiramisu ($18) rounds things off on a more classic note. Layers of airy mascarpone cream and delicate ladyfingers soaked generously in espresso create a dessert that is rich yet surprisingly light on the palate. The robust coffee aroma comes through clearly, balanced by the smooth mascarpone cream and a generous layer of cocoa powder on top. It has the familiar flavours of a traditional tiramisu, with a soft, creamy texture that melts easily in the mouth. A fitting way to end a meal centred around comforting Italian classics.

BaciBaciFront-2

After 12 years in Serangoon Gardens, Baci Baci Ristorante still offers Italian cooking that feels approachable and familiar, with plenty of character from the kitchen. Chef Alberto Dalla Vecchia’s menu spans comforting pastas, inventive wood-fired pizzas, hearty grilled meats and classic desserts, making it an easy choice for both casual neighbourhood meals and gatherings with family and friends.

With 50% off any pizza or pasta from Monday to Thursday until 31 August 2026, the anniversary promotion is a great excuse to head down, revisit old favourites, or explore the menu for the first time. For those looking for rustic Italian comfort food away from the bustle of the city centre, Baci Baci remains a charming little slice of Italy in Serangoon Gardens.

People People Brewing Co. @ Resorts World Sentosa - Microbrewery Serving Premium Lagers & IPAs with Casual Food, Sport & Live Music

IMG_1881

IMG_1820

People People Brewing Co. debuted at Resorts World Sentosa in April 2026. After months of preparation, the brewery is now ready to introduce Batch 001 alongside a full food menu designed to complement its beers. Led by Head Brewer Nick Calder-Scholes, who was named Australian Brewer of the Year in 2024, this marks the beginning of People People Brewing Co.’s in-house tank-to-tap beer programme. The gastropub has a dedicated 2,000 sq ft production space, which enables the brewery to have greater control over the development of seasonal releases, limited-edition pours and collaborative brews.

IMG_1898

The current line-up comprises PPBC Lager, Poolside Pils, XPA, California IPA, Oatmeal Stout and the seasonal Passionfruit & Dragonfruit Fruited Sour ($13–18). We had a Beer Flight ($20) to sample the full range.

IMG_1905
Specialty Beer Cocktails

For something other than a pint, there are also Specialty Beer Cocktails, in which we tried The People’s Pynt ($24) and Hop, Drop & Roll ($22). The latter, made with brown butter rum, IPA and honey, was full-bodied and bittersweet, with a rounded richness from the brown butter rum.

IMG_1866
Salt and Pepper Squid 4.5/5

Complementing the beers is a menu centred around wood-fired sourdough pizzas, rotisserie chicken, burgers and bar bites. We started with the Salt and Pepper Squid ($18), which was moreish with a golden crust and a good bite.

IMG_1871

IMG_1876
Swordfish Tacos 3/5

The Swordfish Tacos ($18), featuring spiced swordfish topped with mango pico de gallo, came in soft taco shells, which I enjoyed, though the filling was somewhat underwhelming.

IMG_1877
Spent Grain Crackers, Beer Nuts

For lighter bites, Beer Nuts ($5) and Spent Grain Crackers ($5) were straightforward accompaniments to the beers. The crackers offered a satisfying crunch, while the nuts were surprisingly bland and lacked the crunch I was expecting.

IMG_1930
Signature Rotisserie Chicken 4.2/5

The mains are very much wood-fired focused, with an open kitchen allowing diners to appreciate the cooking process. The Signature Rotisserie Chicken comes in lemon thyme, peri peri, jerk or soya flavours, with a choice of fries or rice. We tried the Peri Peri version in a half portion ($30), which was succulent and moist, although I was expecting greater depth of smoky flavour. The fries, however, were a highlight, with a perfectly crisp exterior giving way to a fluffy core.

IMG_1854
Blackmores’ Giant Burger 4.2/5

The Blackmores’ Giant Burger ($58) was a sight to behold, with a short rib stacked over double beef patties and topped with fried onion rings, all held together by soft and fluffy potato buns. The short rib had an enticing caramelised, charred exterior, with meat that fell off the bone with the slightest tug. Made with 100% Wagyu, the patties were flavourful, although they could have been juicier. While the individual components were delicious on their own, the burger would have benefited from some acidity or freshness, perhaps by adding gherkins and caramelised onions, to cut through the richness and make the overall combination more rounded.

IMG_1918
Pulled Pork Sanger 3/5

For pizza, we had the Pulled Pork Sanger ($32), made with slow-pulled pork, chipotle, mozzarella and jalapeño. The sourdough base delivered an enjoyable bite, but the combination of flavours felt somewhat overloaded.

IMG_1950
‘Berry Tart’ Sundae 4/5

IMG_1953
Tiramisu 4/5

For dessert, the ‘Berry Tart’ Sundae ($14) stood out with a pairing of a fruity, tangy berry vanilla swirl sundae with an equally delectable blueberry tart, while the Tiramisu was enjoyable, with bittersweet sponge balanced by a light mascarpone cream.

IMG_1959

To gain a more in-depth experience of this local brewery, daily brewery tours led personally by Nick are available for S$68 per person, with a minimum booking of 4 guests.

To celebrate its official debut, People People Brewing Co. will hold an exclusive First Pour for its Founding Members on 13 August, followed by a public celebration on 14 August, when Batch 001 will be available at S$5 per pour throughout the day.

Casa Vostra @ Tampines Mall - Opens 3rd Outlet in The East with Exclusive New Dishes

CasaVostraTampines24

Cult favourite Italian casual dining concept Casa Vostra continues its expansion across Singapore with the opening of its third outlet at Tampines Mall on 15 May 2026. Marking its first foray into the East, the 58-seater space brings the brand’s warm, approachable take on Italian dining closer to heartland diners. Even more enticing, the Tampines outlet debuts a selection of new dishes, giving East-side diners early access before they roll out to other locations.

CasaVostraTampines9
Frittatina alla Scamorza

We started our meal with the Frittatina alla Scamorza ($11), a comforting antipasti that delivered both texture and flavour. Crisp and golden on the outside, the deep-fried parcel reveals a molten centre of scamorza cheese, a southern Italian cow’s milk cheese known for its gentle smokiness and stretchy consistency. The addition of honey and a touch of lemon brightens the richness, while thyme lends a subtle herbaceous lift. It’s a simple yet satisfying starter that sets the tone for the meal.

CasaVostraTampines15
Agnolotti al Branzino e Gamberi

Moving on to pasta, the Agnolotti al Branzino e Gamberi ($27) offers a lighter, seafood-forward option. The delicate pillows of agnolotti are filled with a mixture of sea bass and paired with Argentinian prawns, bringing a natural sweetness to the dish. Tossed with capers and San Marzano Tomato DOP, the sauce is gently tangy without overpowering the seafood. Finished with fresh parsley and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, the dish is clean, elegant and well-executed.

CasaVostraTampines19

CasaVostraTampines28
Luicano’s Spaghetti Alla Carbonara

For something more indulgent, we tried Luciano’s Spaghetti alla Carbonara ($21). The pasta is cooked to a satisfying al dente bite and coated in a rich, creamy emulsion of egg yolk, Pecorino and Parmigiano Reggiano. The guanciale adds a savoury depth with its rendered fat and crisp edges, enhancing the overall flavour profile. While undeniably comforting, the richness can feel a little heavy after a few mouthfuls, making it a dish best shared.

CasaVostraTampines23

CasaVostraTampines32
Pizza (Half-And-Half)

One of Casa Vostra’s highlights is its Half-and-Half Pizza option, perfect for indecisive diners. We opted for a combination of the Margherita Affumicata ($19++) and Prosciutto e Nduja ($24++). The Margherita Affumicata builds on the classic with layers of smoked provola and a housemade smoked mayonnaise, adding a subtle smokiness that elevates the familiar combination of San Marzano tomatoes, fiordilatte and fresh basil. On the other hand, the Prosciutto e Nduja delivers a bolder profile, pairing prosciutto cotto with spicy Calabrian nduja, pickled onions and fried sage. The interplay of creamy, smoky, tangy and spicy elements makes this half particularly more complex and flavour-packed. Together, the half-and-half format offers both comfort and excitement in a single pie.

CasaVostraTampines36

CasaVostraTampines38
Tiramisu

To round off the meal, the Tiramisu ($13) provides a classic finish. Layered with mascarpone cream and coffee-soaked savoiardi, the dessert strikes a balanced note between sweetness and bitterness. The use of decaffeinated coffee ensures a milder flavour, making it accessible for all diners while still delivering that familiar tiramisu character.

CasaVostraTampines4
Ballini and Aperol Spritz

Complementing the meal, the Bellini ($16) made with Botter Prosecco N.V. and fruit purée is light and refreshing. At the same time, the Aperol Spritz ($17) delivers its signature bittersweet citrus notes, perfect for pairing with the richer dishes.

Casa Vostra’s Tampines debut successfully brings its signature casual Italian charm into the neighbourhood, with the added draw of exclusive new dishes. The menu strikes a balance between comforting classics and inventive touches, making it a reliable spot for both casual meals and group gatherings. With its approachable pricing, welcoming ambience and thoughtful offerings, it’s easy to see why Casa Vostra continues to resonate with diners across the island.

Artichoke @ New Bahru - Recalibrates with a Bolder Middle Eastern Identity

ArtichokeMay2026-9

Artichoke Pizza Parlor at New Bahru is turning the dial back to where it all began — its Middle Eastern roots. Six months into its opening, the refreshed menu isn’t about reinvention but a confident recalibration. Chef Bjorn Shen’s irreverent style remains unmistakable, now sharpened with a more pronounced Middle Eastern DNA. The result? A menu that feels tighter, more intentional, yet still brimming with playful surprises.

ArtichokeMay2026-2
Hummus 4.2/5

We started with the Hummus ($16), a returning staple that continues to hold its ground as a dependable opener. Made in-house from dried chickpeas soaked overnight, the hummus is smooth, nutty and deeply satisfying. It comes crowned with housemade chilli oil and chilli crunch, almond dukkah, and a medley of roasted seasonal vegetables such as lotus root, broccolini, mushrooms and baby carrots. A squeeze of lemon lifts the richness, setting the stage for the bold flavours that follow.

ArtichokeMay2026-7
Garlic Bread 4/5

To complement it, the Garlic Bread ($10) is a must-order. Crafted from Artichoke’s pizza bianca — a focaccia-like dough — the bread is brushed with an aglio olio-style garlic relish before being toasted to a crisp. The relish itself is thoughtfully prepared, with garlic fried in oil and gently braised in water to mellow its sharpness while retaining its aromatic depth. The result is a crisp, flavourful base that serves as the perfect vehicle for scooping up every last bit of the hummus.

ArtichokeMay2026-10
Baked Camembert 4.2/5

For something indulgent, the Baked Camembert ($28) delivers in both richness and comfort. The whole wheel of Camembert is baked until molten and oozy, then drizzled with black truffle-infused honey — made by shaving real black truffles into honey — and finished with roasted mixed nuts tossed in brown butter. Served alongside Ritz crackers, it’s a decadent combination of sweet, savoury, creamy and crunchy elements that come together effortlessly.

ArtichokeMay2026-18
Arti-Casear 4.5/5

The Arti-Casear ($24) offers a lighter interlude. Featuring pistachio mortadella, soft egg, crisp greens and croutons, the salad is tossed in a well-balanced Caesar dressing. While straightforward in concept, the interplay of textures — from crunchy vegetables to the richness of the soft egg — keeps it satisfying without feeling heavy.

ArtichokeMay2026-20
Sunny Slice 4.5/5

The spotlight, however, firmly belongs to the pizzas. The refreshed menu places a stronger emphasis on Artichoke’s signature rectangular UnderCrunch pizzas — pillowy slabs with cheddar-crisped frico bases that deliver both crunch and chew.

The new Sunny Slice ($26) is a standout addition. Built on a pizza bianca base spread with toum (a punchy garlic sauce), it is layered with roasted fennel, haloumi cubes and fresh kumquat slices. Finished with housemade hot honey, arugula, mint and pistachio crumble, the pizza offers a vibrant balance of sweet, savoury and herbaceous notes. The kumquat lends a bright citrusy pop, while the haloumi adds a satisfying saltiness against the crisp, golden base.

ArtichokeMay2026-25
Crab-Onara 4.2/5

On the other end of the spectrum are the Stone Baked Rounds, which mark a return to a more traditional style. The Crab-Onara ($34) is a prime example of how Artichoke blends classic techniques with bold creativity. The dough, fermented for three days, yields a light and puffy crust. Topped with garlic cream sauce, fior di latte, zucchini and sautéed pancetta, it is then finished with generous chunks of crab claw meat. A unique “jellified” egg yolk sauce — made by cooking yolks sous vide before seasoning — adds a luscious, carbonara-like richness, rounded off with a dusting of pecorino and black pepper. It’s indulgent, complex, and undeniably satisfying.

ArtichokeMay2026-32
OG Date Pudding 4.8/5

Dessert brings us to the OG Date Pudding ($16), a nostalgic throwback made the original way in 2010. This warm steamed date cake is paired with a cold dulce de leche sauce, creating a pleasing temperature contrast. Accompaniments of black coffee jelly, crunchy cashew nougat and a touch of smoked salt add layers of bitterness, sweetness and texture, elevating the dish beyond a typical sticky date pudding.

Artichoke Pizza Parlor’s refreshed menu feels like a confident step forward by looking back. By leaning into its Middle Eastern roots while refining its offerings, the restaurant delivers a dining experience that is both focused and full of personality. It’s not about doing more, but doing what it does best — with even greater clarity and conviction.

Pietrasanta @ Connexis Tower, Fusionpolis - Returning To Its Tuscan Roots

PietrasantaJun2026-23

Pietrasanta at Fusionopolis is returning to its Tuscan roots. Drawing inspiration from Pietrasanta in Tuscany, the hometown of founders Niccolò and Chef Loris, the restaurant has created a selection of dishes that captures the rustic flavours, traditions and warm hospitality of Tuscany.

PietrasantaJun2026-2
Crudo Di Ricciola 4.2/5

We started with two cold appetisers that showcased the simplicity and elegance of Tuscan cuisine. Crudo Di Ricciola ($28.90) featured firm, meaty amberjack paired with sweet-tart tomato confit, lightly dressed with lemon and extra-virgin olive oil, and accented with delicate floral notes from pink peppercorns.

PietrasantaJun2026-13
Battuta Di Manzo Con Pecorino Toscano 4/5

Battuta Di Manzo Con Pecorino Toscano ($27.90) highlighted the sharp, intensely savoury character of aged Pecorino Toscano, which was incorporated into the beef tartare alongside lemon and capers, resulting in a bright, balanced finish.

PietrasantaJun2026-10
Fritto Viareggino 4/5

Fritto Viareggino ($26.90) was a moreish medley of battered squid, prawns, sardines and vegetables inspired by the coastal town of Viareggio, served with a marinara mayo dipping sauce.

PietrasantaJun2026-18
Coccoli Ricotta e Finocchiona 4.2/5

The highlight for me among the appetisers was Coccoli Ricotta e Finocchiona ($24.90), a nostalgic Tuscan street food featuring warm deep-fried dough served with burrata cream and Finocchiona salami. Stuffing the fluffy dough with the milky burrata and herbaceous, garlicky salami created a mouthwatering combination of flavours and textures that left me wanting more.

PietrasantaJun2026-33
Pici all’Aglione 4.5/5

Moving on to the mains, Pici all’Aglione ($24.90), the signature Tuscan thick hand-rolled pasta was skilfully executed, delivering a delightful bounce with every bite. The dish embraces the Tuscan philosophy of simplicity, tossing the pasta with just tomato, garlic, and olive oil to let the ingredients’ quality shine.

PietrasantaJun2026-30
Risotto Gamberi e Zucchine 4/5

We also tried two risotto dishes. Cooked with lobster bisque, the Risotto Gamberi e Zucchine ($32.90) was crowd-pleasing, with creamy, flavourful Carnaroli risotto studded with chunky prawns, creating textural enjoyment in every bite.

PietrasantaJun2026-36
Peposo Di Manzo Con Risotto Al Porri 4.2/5

The Peposo Di Manzo Con Risotto Al Porri ($37.90) featured a firmer, more al dente risotto that I personally preferred, paired with satisfyingly tender braised beef cheek. The renewed menu also embraces regional Tuscan flavours through its artisanal pizzas.

PietrasantaJun2026-48
Salsiccia e Cavolo Nero 4.5/5

Among all the mains, the Salsiccia e Cavolo Nero ($28.90) was my absolute favourite and worth returning for. The dough had an excellent structure, providing the perfect foundation for the toppings of mozzarella fior di latte, Tuscan black kale (cavolo nero), flavourful Italian pork sausage, and aged pecorino. Finished with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and black pepper, every bite was remarkably balanced, delivering a little of everything at once. It was particularly impressive how the wilted kale contributed so much texture and character to the pizza.

PietrasantaJun2026-59
Tiramisu 4/5

PietrasantaJun2026-63
Zuccotto alla Fiorentina 4.2/5

For dessert, while the Tiramisu ($14.90) was undeniably delectable, the Zuccotto alla Fiorentina ($14.90) offered a rare glimpse into a traditional Florentine sweet. Originating from Florence, this classic dessert is typically crafted in a distinctive pumpkin-shaped mould. Beneath its cake exterior lies a creamy ricotta ice cream filling, complemented by a contrasting sweet-tart berry sauce.

PietrasantaJun2026-42

Pietrasanta has long been a staple in the area, and it’s no surprise given its rustic flavours and traditional recipes executed with finesse. While the dishes embrace simplicity, they are rich in character, with the Salsiccia e Cavolo Nero pizza and Pici all’Aglione standing out as highlights worth returning for.
