Brozeit German Beer Bar & Restaurant @ Westgate - Launched Limited-time 20th Anniversary Menu - Where German Classics Meet Asian Soul

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-16

Celebrating two decades in Singapore, Brozeit German Beer Bar & Restaurant marks a significant milestone with a limited-time 20th Anniversary Menu, available from 23 June to 26 August 2026 across all its outlets. Long regarded as a stalwart of authentic German dining in Singapore, the brand takes a bold yet thoughtful step forward with a menu that bridges its Bavarian roots and the vibrant flavours of Asia. Helmed by Group Executive Chef Lorenz Raich, the dishes reinterpret traditional German favourites through an Asian lens, while staying grounded in classic techniques and craftsmanship. A collaboration with local craft beer brand Bo Chup further injects a distinct Singaporean identity into the celebratory lineup.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-20
Asiatische Schweinshaxn (Mala-marinated Pork Knuckle) 4.2/5

A centrepiece of the menu is the Asiatische Schweinshaxn ($42), a mala-marinated pork knuckle that reimagines Brotzeit’s iconic crispy knuckle with a fiery twist. Marinated for 24 hours and slow-braised to tenderness, the meat is succulent and falls effortlessly off the bone. The mala profile is aromatic and numbing without overwhelming the palate, offering a balanced heat. Served with rice, a crunchy Chinese cucumber salad, and mapo tofu in a nostalgic tingkat, the dish cleverly marries comfort and creativity.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-17
Knusprige Schweinshaxn (Crispy Pork Knuckle) 4.5/5

For purists, the Knusprige Schweinshaxn ($45) remains a benchmark. The oven-roasted pork knuckle boasts a shatteringly crisp crackling, revealing juicy, flavourful meat beneath. Accompanied by potato salad, bacon sauerkraut and a rich beer gravy, it delivers the hearty, robust flavours that Brotzeit is known for.

Those torn between the Asiatische Schweinshaxn (Mala-marinated Pork Knuckle) and Knusprige Schweinshaxn (Crispy Pork Knuckle) can opt for the West Meets East Platter Combo ($78), which offers both versions side by side — a satisfying showcase of tradition and innovation.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-7

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-11
Spinat Teigtaschen mit Seidentofu Sichuan 3/5

The Spinat Teigtaschen mit Seidentofu Sichuan ($22) presents a vegetarian option, pairing German spinach and potato dumplings with silken tofu in a Sichuan-style mapo sauce. Shiitake mushrooms stand in for minced meat, lending earthy depth. However, the dish leans toward the salty side and lacks the expected punch and complexity of a classic mapo tofu, making it less memorable than the other offerings.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-27
Rindergulasch “Rendang” 3.8/5

A more successful reinterpretation is the Rindergulasch “Rendang” ($35). Paired with housemade Spätzle (traditional egg pasta), reminiscent of mini gnocchi with its soft, doughy texture and a delightful bite, the dish offers a comforting base for the richly braised beef shank. Slow-cooked for five hours, the meat is tender and infused with aromatic rendang spices and a gentle sweetness from gula melaka. Together, the elements come across almost like a ragu pasta, but with an Asian twist, bringing a familiar yet distinctive depth of flavour to the plate.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-3
Hummer Laksa Spätzle 4/5

The Hummer Laksa Spätzle ($42) continues the East-meets-West theme with flair. The traditional egg pasta is tossed in a fragrant lobster broth infused with laksa leaves, then topped with a grilled lobster tail. Fresh coriander and red chilli add brightness, resulting in a dish that is both indulgent and vibrantly layered.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-33
Mala Bratwurst 4.5/5

Among the highlights is the Mala Bratwurst ($25). Crafted from Brotzeit’s in-house recipe, the sausage is lower in sodium and nitrate-free, yet packed with flavour. The mala seasoning brings a peppery, numbing kick that elevates the juicy bratwurst, making it a standout for those who enjoy spice-forward profiles.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-37
Hühnerschnitzel “Salted Egg” 4.5/5

Equally impressive is the Hühnerschnitzel “Salted Egg” ($28), a creative nod to Singapore’s beloved cereal prawn. The tender chicken schnitzel is coated in a crispy golden cereal crust and enriched with luscious salted egg, delivering both crunch and umami. Paired with a curry-spiced potato salad, the dish strikes a delightful balance between zi char familiarity and German tradition, easily one of the most memorable plates on the menu.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-44
Apfel Pandan Kaya Strudel 4/5

Desserts continue the playful fusion. The Apfel Pandan Kaya Strudel ($15) layers pandan sponge, kaya and apple strudel within a flaky pastry, finished with salted gula melaka. Surprisingly harmonious, the components come together in a nostalgic yet refined manner.

BrozeitWestgateJun2026-51
Matcha Kaiserschmarrn 4.5/5

The Matcha Kaiserschmarrn ($22) is a fitting finale — soft, fluffy torn pancakes infused with earthy matcha, complemented by fresh strawberries and a tangy strawberry compote. Light yet indulgent, it is irresistibly moreish even for those who are not typically dessert-inclined.

Brotzeit’s 20th Anniversary Menu is a bold and thoughtful celebration of its journey in Singapore. By weaving Asian flavours into its German culinary foundation, the restaurant delivers a menu that feels both innovative and respectful of tradition. While not every dish hits the mark, the stronger creations, particularly the pork knuckle variations, Mala Bratwurst and Salted Egg Schnitzel, showcase the potential of this cross-cultural approach. It is a fitting tribute to two decades of dining, and a reminder of how far Brotzeit has come while continuing to evolve with its audience.

Niku Niku oh! Kome @ Westgate - Theatrical Live-Grilled Wagyu Hamburg Steaks

NikuNikuWestgate-3

NikuNikuWestgate-4

For meat lovers, Niku Niku Oh!! Kome puts the spotlight firmly on the art of Japanese hamburg steaks. First opening its doors at Resorts World Sentosa in August 2025, the concept has since expanded with a second, more spacious 40-seat outlet at Westgate.

NikuNikuOhKomeWestgate5

NikuNikuWestgate-10

NikuNikuWestgate-8

At Niku Niku Oh!! Kome, dining is as much about experience as it is about flavour. Guests seated at the counter are treated to a theatrical showcase of live grilling, where skilled hands shape, sear and finish premium Japanese aged wagyu hamburg steaks right before their eyes. Each patty is freshly ground and hand-pounded daily on-site, resulting in a texture that is both tender and satisfyingly chunky, with juices locked within.

NikuNikuOhKomeWestgate9

NikuNikuOhKomeWestgate12
Original Hamburg Steak 4.5/5

We began with the Original Hamburg Steak, which sets the benchmark for what a proper hamburg should be. The patty was robustly meaty, boasting a rich, beef-forward flavour with a juicy interior that borders on molten. Adding an egg introduces a luscious creaminess, its silky yolk coating each bite and enhancing the overall mouthfeel. While the hamburg rightfully commands attention, the rice deserves equal praise. Polished in-house from husked grains, the rice is a thoughtful blend of Japanese Niji no Kirameki and Vietnamese jasmine rice. The result is a bowl of soft, fluffy grains with a gentle aroma and delicate sweetness, the perfect foil to the richly flavoured beef.

NikuNikuOhKomeWestgate16
Cheese Hamburg Steak 4.5/5

Next, the Cheese Hamburg Steak takes indulgence up a notch. Cloaked in a blanket of melted cheddar and finished with freshly grated Grana Padano, the patty transforms into something reminiscent of a gourmet cheeseburger, but elevated. The cheeses lend a savoury, slightly nutty richness that deepens the wagyu’s umami, while still allowing the natural beefiness to shine through. It’s decadent without tipping into excess, making it an easy crowd-pleaser and a highlight of the meal.

NikuNikuOhKomeWestgate19
Creamy Tomato Sauce Hamburg Steak 4.5/5

Rounding off the trio is the Creamy Tomato Sauce Hamburg Steak, a seasonal creation introduced alongside the Westgate opening. This rendition leans into a more “yoshoku” direction, Japanese-Western comfort fare at its finest. The sauce is a well-balanced marriage of a deep, savoury demi-glace and tangy tomato purée, enriched with a touch of cream to achieve a smooth, velvety consistency and an inviting orange hue. The interplay of sweet, savoury and mildly acidic notes keeps each bite interesting, cutting through the richness of the beef. Topped with thick slices of fresh tomato and a sprinkle of parsley, the dish gains a refreshing lift that prevents it from feeling too heavy.

With its combination of quality ingredients, meticulous preparation and engaging dining format, Niku Niku Oh!! Kome proves that the humble hamburg steak can be elevated into a deeply satisfying and memorable experience.

PUTIEN @ Westgate - Savour the Once-a-Year Duotou Clams at PUTIEN, Featuring New Bold Creations

PutienWestgateClam21

Known for its authentic Fujian cuisine, PUTIEN once again celebrates the return of its highly anticipated seasonal delicacy, Duotou Clams, available across all outlets until 31 July 2026. Harvested only once a year at peak quality, these prized clams from Duotou Village in Putian, Fujian, are revered for their plump, juicy texture, natural sweetness, and a clean, mineral-rich finish that lingers delicately on the palate.

What truly sets Duotou Clams apart lies in their origin. Cultivated in nutrient-rich black mudflats formed over a millennium and nourished by higher-salinity waters, the clams develop a deeper, more concentrated flavour than regular varieties. Farmed using traditional methods that date back over 600 years and harvested painstakingly by hand, often buried up to 30cm beneath the surface, each clam embodies a legacy of patience, craftsmanship, and respect for nature.

PutienWestgateClam35
Salt-baked Duotou Clam 4.2/5

A perennial favourite, the Salt-baked Duotou Clam ($29.80) continues to impress as PUTIEN's best-selling clam dish for nine consecutive years globally. Served atop a bed of coarse sea salt, the clams are gently baked to retain their natural juices, allowing their inherent sweetness to shine. The addition of aromatic Szechuan peppercorns introduces a subtle numbing fragrance that enhances rather than overpowers, lifting the overall flavour profile. Each bite delivers a satisfying burst of briny sweetness, complemented by the clam's signature plumpness and clean finish.

PutienWestgateClam1

PutienWestgateClam8
Duotou Clams in Sauce 4.5/5

A new addition to this year's lineup, the Duotou Clams in Sauce ($29.80) offers a bolder, more robust expression. Cloaked in a rich, spicy, and umami-laden sauce, the dish delivers a lingering heat with a gentle numbing sensation. The sauce clings beautifully to the clams, amplifying their sweetness while adding depth and complexity. It is a well-balanced creation that showcases PUTIEN's ability to innovate while respecting the ingredient's integrity.

Diners can also take advantage of the limited-time membership promotion, "8 Delectable Dishes, Feast on 2 at a Time!", where any two Duotou clam dishes are available at a special price of $48.80 — a great opportunity to sample different interpretations of this seasonal treasure.

PutienWestgateClam17
Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychees 4.5/5

A signature that never disappoints, the Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychees ($17.80/ $26.70) remains a must-order. The dish stands out for its remarkable consistency, arguably one of the best renditions in Singapore. The pork is tender and succulent, encased in a light, crisp batter that holds up well against the glossy sauce. Real lychees lend a natural sweetness and fruity brightness, creating a harmonious balance with the sauce's tangy notes. It is an appetising dish that hits all the right notes without being overly cloying.

PutienWestgateClam11
Braised Luffa with Dried Scallop 4.2/5

The Braised Luffa with Dried Scallop ($16.80/ $25.20) is a comforting, understated dish that highlights the beauty of simple ingredients done right. The luffa is tender and velvety, with a slight crunch that preserves its freshness, while its natural sweetness is gently coaxed out through braising. Shredded dried scallops (conpoy) infuse the light gravy with a deep, savoury umami, adding layers of flavour without overwhelming the palate. The result is a delicate yet flavourful dish that complements heavier items on the table.

PutienWestgateClam26

PutienWestgateClam31
Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon 4.5/5

The Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon ($14.80/ $29.60) showcases the finesse of PUTIEN's culinary roots. Made from Xinghua rice vermicelli sourced from Putian, the noodles are traditionally sun-dried, resulting in strands that are exceptionally fine, translucent, and resilient. Despite absorbing the savoury broth, the bee hoon retains a pleasing "al dente" bite without turning mushy. Lightly seasoned yet deeply flavourful, the dish carries a subtle rice fragrance that speaks to the purity and quality of the noodles.

With both classic and contemporary interpretations, PUTIEN's Duotou Clam season celebrates heritage, craftsmanship, and ingredient-driven cooking. Available for a limited time only, it is a compelling reason to revisit the restaurant and savour one of Fujian's most treasured seasonal offerings.

Casa Vostra @ JEM - Bringing Its Heartfelt Italian Fare to the West

CasaVostraJEM14

If you’ve ever been to Raffles City, chances are you’ve noticed the ever-long snaking queue outside Casa Vostra. The good news for Westies! The beloved Italian eatery has opened its second outlet at JEM, marking a new chapter for fans of its signature pizzas and handmade pastas. The new outlet seats up to 80 guests, approximately 30% more than its Raffles City flagship, offering a more spacious dining experience with outlet-exclusive dishes, a kid-friendly menu, and even some family-friendly activities thrown in.

CasaVostraJEM4
Carnivora Pizza 4/5

Exclusive to the JEM outlet, the Carnivora ($28) is a hearty indulgence that will satisfy any meat lover. Built on a San Marzano tomato base, the pizza is topped with creamy Fiordilatte, Mortadella, prosciutto, spicy salame, porchetta, and Pepperone Crusco (a traditional sweet pepper from Italy’s Basilicata region, sun-dried and lightly fried). The result is a beautifully layered pizza that is savoury, smoky, and subtly sweet, with the crispy pepper adding an aromatic crunch.

CasaVostraJEM15
Polpette alla Fonduta 3.5/5

Another JEM-exclusive, the Polpette alla Fonduta ($16) features well-seasoned beef meatballs that are fried to a nice crust, paired with a creamy Taleggio fondue that lends a rich, cheesy flavour. While the fondue adds decadence, the dish could use a bit more punch or contrast to balance its heavy notes. For those who enjoy an extra touch of luxury, you can add truffle oil for an additional $10.

CasaVostraJEM25

CasaVostraJEM21
Agnolotti all’Anatra in Brodo 4/5

The Agnolotti all’Anatra in Brodo ($28) showcases Casa Vostra’s finesse with handmade pasta. Each delicate parcel is filled with roasted duck and served in a deeply flavoured consommé made from the same bird. The broth is light yet flavourful, complementing the al dente pasta. It’s a comforting dish that highlights Italian simplicity at its best.

CasaVostraJEM27
Coppa al Pistachio 4.5/5

For dessert, the Coppa al Pistachio ($14) is an absolute must-try. The combination of creamy pistachio gelato, crunchy nuts, and fluffy whipped cream makes for a delightful, nutty finale. It’s indulgent yet balanced. It is the kind of dessert you’d happily return for.

Adding to the fun, the JEM outlet also introduces a Casa Claw Machine from 3 Oct to 2 Nov 2025. Spend $100 per table to earn one sure-win play. Prizes include pizza plushies, vouchers for complimentary panna cotta, or iced teas and coffees for your next visit. Fans can also pick up exclusive Casa Vostra Caps ($25) and Cacio e Pepe Thins ($8), available at both Raffles City and JEM while stocks last.

With its larger space, exclusive menu, and playful family-friendly touches, Casa Vostra JEM is set to become a new favourite dining destination for Italian food lovers in the West.

Moon Moon Food (雙月食品社) @ JEM - Taiwan’s Michelin-approved Restaurant Opens Its Second Outlet in the West of Singapore

MoonMoonFoodWestgate5

MoonMoonFoodWestgateFront-3

Good news for Westies! Moon Moon Food (雙月食品社), the popular Michelin Bib Gourmand awardee from Taiwan, has expanded its footprint with a new outlet at JEM, Jurong East, joining its other locations at Ngee Ann City and VivoCity. After previously dining at the Ngee Ann City outlet, I was excited to revisit this beloved eatery, which is now conveniently located nearer to home.

MoonMoonFoodWestgate14
Spicy Sesame Noodle 4.8/5

A must-try dish at Moon Moon Food is the Spicy Sesame Noodle ($13.80). The noodles are delightfully chewy with an excellent bite, tossed in a rich, nutty, and aromatic sesame sauce with a subtle kick of spice. It's comforting, addictive, and full of flavour. It is a bowl of slurping goodness that's hard to resist.

MoonMoonFoodWestgate19

MoonMoonFoodWestgate20
Braised Dish 3/5

Moon Moon Food also offers a selection of Taiwanese-style braised items, with nine options to mix and match. I tried the Bai Ye Tofu, Pork Moon Bone, and Pork Heart ($10.80 for 3 items). While the ingredients were cooked tender and well-soaked in the braising sauce, the flavours were relatively mild and didn't leave a strong impression.

MoonMoonFoodWestgate26
Taiwanese Salty Crispy Popper 3.8/5

The Taiwanese Salty Crispy Popper is perfect for snacking. It comes in chunky, karaage-like bites that are juicy inside and crispy on the outside. Seasoned in classic Taiwanese fashion, it makes a satisfying nibble with your noodles or soup.

MoonMoonFoodWestgate10
Peeled Chilli Pepper Chicken Soup 4.5/5

One of the highlights of the meal was the Peeled Chilli Pepper Chicken Soup ($18.80). The soup was light yet deeply flavourful, using a chicken broth base, drawing sweetness from cabbage and a gentle kick from peeled green chilli. The result is a comforting and warming bowl, perfect for rainy days or if you're feeling under the weather.

MoonMoonFoodWestgate2
Moon Moon Signature Fried Rice 3/5

We also sampled the Moon Moon Signature Fried Rice ($13.80). While the ingredients were well-cooked and the rice had a nice texture, the overall flavour was too mild for my preference. A touch more wok hei or seasoning would have elevated this dish further.

MoonMoonFoodWestgate27
Taro Toast with Ice Cream 3.5/5

To end on a sweet note, we had the Taro Toast with Ice Cream ($8.80). The crispy pastry encasing sweet, smooth taro paste was enjoyable, and the sesame fragrance added a nice touch. The accompanying ice cream helped balance the richness, making it a satisfying dessert, if not particularly stand out.

Moon Moon Food's arrival at JEM is a welcome addition to the West's food scene. Its authentic Taiwanese flavours, comforting soups, and signature noodles offer a taste of Taiwan in a casual, no-fuss setting. While some dishes could use a stronger flavour punch, the Spicy Sesame Noodles and Chilli Pepper Chicken Soup alone make it worth a visit.

IMG_0404

IMG_0383

IMG_0409

The buffet's cooked food selection is a highlight, featuring Hong Kong-style dishes like Cantonese Steamed Rice with Preserved Meat, Braised Mixed Beef Offal, Ee Fu Noodles, Glutinous Rice Siew Mai with Mushroom and Curry Fish Ball.

IMG_0377

There were a variety of snacks as well, including Fried Fish Beancurd Roll, Golden Crispy Prawn Cake, Crispy Pork Strips, Fried Chicken Wing and more.

IMG_0389

I was pleasantly surprised to see a bubbling pot of Tea Egg available too. These were thoroughly braised and flavourful.

IMG_0475

We liked how each diner has their own individual pot, as this means that everyone gets their preferred base. We were spoilt for choice among the broths and finally decided on the Authentic Pork Bone Soup Base and a vegetarian option, the Cordycep Flower with Mushroom Soup Base.

IMG_0430

The pork bone soup base was flavourful and comforting, while the mushroom base is a good choice if you are looking for something nourishing and light. Broth refills were also available at each table to conveniently top up through the meal.

IMG_0416

Most ingredients are available self-service, but diners can also order via QR code to have items delivered directly to their table.

IMG_0502

IMG_0460

The Premium Set included exclusive ingredients such as Sliced US Short Plate, Fresh Scallop, Scallop Seafood Paste, and more.

IMG_0453

IMG_0469

Our favourites from the Premium list of ingredients were the crunchy sweet Fresh White Sea Prawn, fresh Sliced Snakehead and tender Sliced Spanish Pork Collar.

IMG_0436

Fans of Beauty in the Pot will be thrilled to know that the refreshing Yuzu Slush is available here but free-flow, along with hot tea and soft drinks.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the quality and variety of food for the price. The only drawback was the 80-minute time limit, so it's best to order promptly and keep track of time to enjoy fully.
