Dancing Crab @ Orchard Central - Introduces a Limited-Time $60 Combo Bag Bundle

White Pepper Cream 1

Seafood feasts just got a lot more value-packed at Dancing Crab. Known for its lively American-style seafood boils and hands-on dining experience, the popular restaurant is rolling out a limited-time $60 Combo Bag Bundle that’s perfect for sharing. Available from now till 28 February, this deal lets diners enjoy a generous spread of seafood, sauces, sides and desserts. If you’ve been looking for an excuse to revisit Dancing Crab (or try it for the first time), this might just be it.

Garlic Chilli Crisps 1

World Famous Signature Cajun 1

White Pepper Cream 2

World Famous Signature Cajun 2
#2 Combo Bag 4/5

The #2 Combo Bag ($60++), ideal for 2–3 diners, comes loaded with a satisfying mix of fresh prawns, hamaguri clams, half-shell scallops, sweet corn and Arabiki chicken sausage. What makes the experience even better is the ability to choose three sauces from Dancing Crab’s signature range. We went with the World Famous Signature Cajun, White Pepper Cream, and the new Garlic Chilli Crisps Sauce.

Cocktail Shrimp Salad with Zesty Lemongrass Dressing 1

Truffles Fries
Truffle Fries 3.8/5

For sides, we picked the Cocktail Shrimp Salad with Zesty Lemongrass Dressing and Truffle Fries. The salad was a pleasant surprise - light, refreshing and packed with texture. The zesty lemongrass dressing cuts through the richness of the seafood, while the crunchy granola adds a satisfying bite. Honestly, this is one dish I wouldn’t mind having as a meal on its own. The Truffle Fries were enjoyable but slightly overshadowed by other sides later in the meal. There are stronger contenders on the menu.

Hokkaido Cheesecake Creme Brulee 1

Hokkaido Cheesecake Creme Brulee 3
Hokkaido Cheesecake Creme Brulee 3.8/5

For dessert, we opted for the Hokkaido Cheesecake Crème Brûlée, with the alternative being the Gâteau au Chocolate Cake. This dessert surprised us in a good way! Creamy, smooth and indulgent with a nicely torched top. It leans on the sweeter side; if the sweetness were toned down slightly, it would be close to perfect.

Crab Cake 2
Crab Cakes 4/5

We also add on other dishes to our meal. The Crab Cakes ($26.80) are made with generous amounts of fresh crab meat and coated in a crisp panko crust. Each bite delivers a balanced mix of crab sweetness and exterior crunch. Well-executed and comforting, this is a safe yet satisfying order for crab lovers.

Fresh Boston Lobster Roll 1
Lobster Roll 4/5

The Lobster Roll ($58.80) features chunky pieces of fresh Boston lobster tucked into a soft buttery bun. Sweet, juicy and indulgent, it’s a straightforward dish done right. But the real star here? The sweet potato fries on the side are crispy, addictive and far more memorable than the truffle fries. I’ll definitely be choosing these on my next visit.

Ultraviolet Berry Lemonade & Southern Iced Sweet Tea 1
Ultraviolet Berry Lemonade & Southern Iced Sweet Tea

To wash everything down, we tried the Ultraviolet Berry Lemonade ($5.80), made with freshly squeezed lemon juice and blue pea flower, and the Southern Iced Sweet Tea ($5.80), a refreshing blend of Earl Grey and English Breakfast tea topped with mint. Both drinks are light and refreshing and pair well with the heavier seafood dishes.

Restaurant 2

The $60 Combo Bag Bundle at Dancing Crab is a solid value, especially for those who enjoy variety and communal dining. With generous portions, flexible sauce choices and the inclusion of sides and desserts, it’s a well-rounded feast without breaking the bank. Available till 28 February for dine-in only, this deal is ideal for casual catch-ups, family meals, or a fun, messy seafood night out. If you’re a fan of bold flavours and hands-on dining, this is one promotion worth checking out before it ends.

Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐) @ Paragon - Toss to a Prosperous Lunar New Year to Usher in The Year of The Horse

IMG_1507

Gather friends and family to toss to a prosperous Lunar New Year at Din Tai Fung with their festive range of Yu Sheng. We visited the Paragon outlet with the family for an early celebration.

IMG_1500

IMG_1522
Abundance Abalone Yu Sheng 4.2/5

Thoughtfully offered in three assortments, diners can choose from the Prosperity Smoked Salmon Yu Sheng, Abundance Abalone Yu Sheng and Vegetarian Prosperity Yu Sheng, catering to different preferences. Additional toppings, such as Fried Salmon Skin, are also available for extra indulgence.

The Abundance Abalone Yu Sheng won the hearts of my dining companions for how clean and refreshing it tasted, while studded with Fried Salmon Skin and Smoked Salmon Slices. We particularly appreciated the addition of fried yam strips, which provided a strong textural contrast. The plum dressing was mildly sweetened, just the way we like it.

IMG_1728

Each Yu Sheng platter ordered includes a limited-edition Din Tai Fung red packet and an adorable mascot coin pouch. From 23 Jan to 3 Mar 2026, diners can enjoy:

● 10% off any 1 Yu Sheng or 15% off any 2 Yu Sheng (DBS/POSB Cardholders)

● An $8 Din Tai Fung e-voucher for your next visit, with the purchase of any Yu Sheng via the BreadTalk Group Rewards App

*Note: Promotions are available for dine-in and takeaway at all Din Tai Fung restaurants except Novena Square Mall, while stocks last.

IMG_1534
Oriental Salad in Special Vinegar Dressing 4/5

After a prosperous toss, we moved on to Din Tai Fung’s classic, comforting dishes, starting with the Oriental Salad in Special Vinegar Dressing, which remains a crowd-favourite starter. Served chilled, it is refreshing with pleasant, tangy notes that awaken the palate.

IMG_1546
Deep Fried Handmade Tofu with Lotus Roots & Mushrooms 4/5

It was our first time trying this Chef’s Special - the Deep Fried Handmade Tofu with Lotus Roots & Mushrooms, and we were pleasantly surprised. The tofu had a thin, crisp exterior while remaining soft inside, with added texture from the lotus roots and mushroom bits.

IMG_1529

IMG_1539
Crispy Golden Prawn Pancake 4/5

Fried to a beautiful golden-brown, the Crispy Golden Prawn Pancake is another side perfect for sharing. It’s thin yet filled with juicy prawn chunks.

IMG_1577
Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao 4/5

The Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao is a staple you’ll spot on almost every table. Each dumpling comes with delicate skin encasing tender pork and a good amount of savoury broth. Beyond this signature flavour, there are other variations, including Steamed Crab Meat & Pork, Chicken, Shrimp & Pork, Truffle & Pork, Vegetarian, and more.

IMG_1571

IMG_1583
Fried Rice with Pork Chop & Eggs 4/5

Similarly iconic is the Fried Rice with Pork Chop & Eggs. We appreciate how consistent the quality is across outlets, delivering a fragrant, well-fried plate every time. Enjoy it plain or topped with shrimp, shredded pork, truffles, or a hearty pork chop.

IMG_1548

IMG_1560
Noodle with Vegetable & Pork Wantons in Peanut Sesame Sauce 4/5

For noodles, we opted for the Noodle with Vegetable & Pork Wantons in Peanut Sesame Sauce. The noodles were cooked perfectly with a bite and carried the fragrant, nutty sauce well. There’s a light kick of heat in this, but not too spicy. You can also order this with Shrimp & Pork Wantons.

IMG_1599

IMG_1602
Steamed Strawberry Mochi Xiao Long Bao 2/5

Joining the menu from 1 Feb 2026 is the Steamed Strawberry Mochi Xiao Long Bao. Served fresh off the steamer, it features a mochi exterior with a strawberry filling made from Korean strawberries. We would prefer the skin to be thinner and softer for a more balanced bite.

Kai Duck @ Takashimaya - Spring into Prosperity with an Elevated 2026 Festive Menu that Celebrates Both Tradition and Indulgence.

IMG_1080

Kai Duck at Takashimaya welcomes the Year of the Horse with a thoughtfully curated collection of dine-in set menus and takeaway offerings that celebrate both tradition and indulgence.

IMG_1087

IMG_1014
Prosperity South African Yu Sheng 4.5/5

The Harmony Set (S$568++ for four diners) begins with a Prosperity South African Yu Sheng tossed in olive oil for a lighter, cleaner finish, allowing the freshness of the ingredients to shine without weighing down the palate.

IMG_1075
Double-boiled Shark’s Fin Soup 4.5/5

This was followed by a luxurious classic, the Double-boiled Shark’s Fin Soup with Chicken. The collagen-rich broth was rich-bodied and gelatinous, delivering a sense of indulgence in every spoonful.

IMG_1054
Roasted Duck with Black Truffle Sauce 4.8/5

Next came the restaurant’s signature Roasted Duck with Black Truffle Sauce. The Irish duck was succulent, with beautifully crisped skin, while the black truffle sauce was well put together, lending just a subtle earthy lift to the dish.

IMG_1036
Steamed Sliced Garoupa Fish 4/5

The set also includes Steamed Sliced Garoupa Fish with Celery and Black Fungus in Superior Soya Sauce. The fish was firm yet moist, its mild sweetness enhanced by the savoury umami notes of the soya sauce.

IMG_1032
Wok-fried Hot Pot Panda Rice 4/5

One of the highlights of this year’s set menu is the Wok-fried Hot Pot Panda Rice with Bacon and Bolete Mushroom. Specially imported from Sichuan, China, Panda Rice is prized for its higher nutritional value and lower glycaemic index. The grains were slightly translucent with a gentle bounce, pleasantly non-starchy, and every bite was fragrant with wok hei and intensely moreish.

IMG_1103
Supreme Fortune Pot 5/5

Supreme Fortune Pot is part of Kai Duck’s takeaway Millionaire Chinese New Year Set (minimum one day advance booking required; self-collection only). Each set comes with one Big Sweep Ticket*. The opulent pen cai features 15 premium ingredients, including South African abalone, sea cucumber, golden oyster mushrooms, fish maw, fatt choy, braised pork belly, and Kai Duck’s signature roasted duck. A standout for me was the inclusion of chunky radish and yam, which were wonderfully soft and thoroughly infused with the rich, savoury gravy.

*Big Sweep tickets are issued and administered by Singapore Pools, an independent third party. Kai Duck is not affiliated and is not responsible for prize claims or redemption.

IMG_1029
BBQ Pork 4.5/5

The takeaway set also includes a platter of BBQ Pork. Marinated for over 12 hours and roasted for more than 40 minutes, the pork was unctuous and juicy, finished with a mouthwatering caramelised char.

IMG_1060
Pan-fried Handmade Glutinous Rice Cake 4/5

Dessert rounded off the meal with a duo of sweets. A lightly tart and refreshing Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo, alongside Pan-fried Handmade Glutinous Rice Cake, provides a comforting and homely end to the festive feast.

IMG_0554

For the upcoming Lunar New Year, Chen's Kitchen at Paragon Shopping Centre has introduced festive set Reunion Menus featuring its well-loved signatures alongside new dishes that will be added to the regular menu after CNY 2026.

IMG_0550
Prosperity Yu Sheng 3/5

IMG_0591
Double-boiled Lotus Root and Pork Rib Soup 3/5

The Blossom Set ($328++ for 4 pax) begins with a classic Prosperity Yu Sheng, followed by a comforting Double-boiled Lotus Root and Pork Rib Soup. The soup was simple, homely, and soothing.

IMG_0582
Mapo Tofu Original 4.2/5

Three of Chen's Kitchen's signatures anchor this set. The Mapo Tofu Original did not disappoint, delivering umami-packed flavours with silky tofu that carried the sauce beautifully.

IMG_0561
Sweet and Sour Barramundi 3/5

The Sweet and Sour Barramundi was delectable overall, though the fried exterior on the leaner parts of the fish leaned slightly thicker than preferred, resulting in more crust than meat. The sauce also skewed a little too sweet for my palate.

IMG_0570
Mala Mayo Prawns 4.5/5

On the other hand, the Mala Mayo Prawns were succulent, elevated by a coating of mala mayonnaise on the exterior that delivered an indulgent, creamy mouthfeel.

IMG_0598
Chen's Black Sweet and Sour Pork 4.8/5

Our family favourite was undoubtedly Chen's Black Sweet and Sour Pork. Each morsel was firm yet tender and deeply savoury, with a rich, well-balanced flavour that leaned more towards umami rather than tanginess.

IMG_0603
Gongbao Chicken 4/5

The Gongbao Chicken was visually appealing, featuring tender, well-marinated chicken complemented by asparagus that added a refreshing crunch.

IMG_0626
Szechwan French Beans with Mushrooms 4.5/5

The Szechwan French Beans with Mushrooms were thoroughly moreish, with crunchy beans paired with savoury minced meat, making it easy to keep reaching for more.

IMG_0631
Double-Boiled Pear with Snow Fungus and Red Dates 3.8/5

To complement the flavoursome dishes, dessert is a refreshing chilled Double-Boiled Pear with Snow Fungus and Red Dates, offering a light and soothing finish to the meal.

4-Pax, 6-Pax and 8-Pax Reunion Menus are available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery
