L'Espresso @ Goodwood Park Hotel - ‘Pink For Good’ English Afternoon Tea Buffet

IMG_7980

Commemorating a decade of partnership with the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) and in conjunction with its 125th anniversary, Goodwood Park Hotel presents 'Pink For Good', a special edition of its English Afternoon Tea Buffet at L'Espresso. Available from 1 October to 30 November 2025, this initiative underscores the hotel's enduring commitment to the cause in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The BCF plays a vital role in providing support and education for those affected by breast cancer, while championing regular Breast Self-Examinations (BSE) to encourage proactivity about one's health.

IMG_7983

Paying homage to the pink ribbon, the universal symbol of breast cancer awareness, the buffet presents an exquisite array of savouries and sweets in delicate shades of pink, contrasted with bold black accents. Elements such as caviar, black truffle, and charcoal-infused breads and pastries lend visual drama and sophistication to the spread.

IMG_7911
Turkey Ham with Cranberry Cheese & Black Olive Soil

Starting with dainty bites, open-faced sandwiches are reimagined as tart-like creations in elegant hues of pink, including Crabmeat Salad with Mentaiko Aioli & Black Sesame Seed, Turkey Ham with Cranberry Cheese & Black Olive Soil, and Greenland Shrimp with Raspberry & Mango Chutney.

IMG_7982

A selection of Finger Sandwiches offers delectable combinations such as Organic Egg & Black Truffle Mayo, Corned Beef with Caramelised Onion, and Portobello Mushroom & Halloumi Cheese, layered between charcoal and beetroot bread.

Croissant Sandwiches, another staple, are creatively tinted in pink and black for a striking contrast. Variations include Chipotle Tuna Salad with English Cucumber, Caprese Salad with Pesto, and Chilled Prawn & Mango Salad with Marie Rose Sauce.

Salmon Gravlax Platter

The Salmon Gravlax Platter with condiments was one of my favourites, which is a perfect pairing to enjoy alongside the sandwiches and croissants.

Black Trumpet Mushroom–Crusted Beef Tenderloin

Hot highlights include comforting and indulgent offerings such as Pork Cottage Pie with Charcoal Mash, Baked Mushroom Strudel drizzled with White Truffle Oil, and Black Trumpet Mushroom–Crusted Beef Tenderloin.

IMG_7994
Black Pink Cupcakes

Buffet specials continue the pink-and-black theme with refined creations, such as Smoked Salmon Tartare with Crème Fraîche topped with Black Caviar elegantly presented in pink cones, alongside Mini Wagyu Beef Charcoal Sliders and Black Pink Cupcakes.

IMG_7977
Desserts

Desserts are thoughtfully curated — Black & Pink Macarons, Pink Guava Opera, Raspberry Mille Feuille, Strawberry Éclairs, and more. And of course, no visit would be complete without the Signature Scones Bar, dedicated entirely to scones in an assortment of flavours.

For every paying adult who dines on the 'Pink For Good' English Afternoon Tea Buffet in October and November 2025, the hotel will donate $2 nett to BCF. This contribution will help fund programmes and services for the breast cancer community and support advocacy campaigns that save lives through early detection.

10|SCOTTS @ Grand Hyatt Singapore - Relaunch of The Grand Afternoon Tea

IMG_7619

Following the official completion of the redevelopment of Grand Hyatt Singapore, 10|SCOTTS welcomes you back with the relaunch of its Grand Afternoon Tea. This thoughtfully curated semi-buffet celebrates provenance and sustainability, and rounds off the experience with a tableside tier of desserts.

IMG_7620
Artisanal Cheeses & Charcuterie

The savoury spread showcases artisanal Cheeses, Charcuterie, seasonal produce, and the chef’s signatures. The cheeses are specially selected from Les Frères Marchand, one of France’s oldest and largest cheese-maturing houses with a heritage spanning 7 generations. These prized cheeses are paired with freshly shaved charcuterie and the quintessential accompaniments of nuts, dried fruits, chutney, and olives.

IMG_7663
ASC-certified Smoked Salmon

Sustainability takes centre stage with highlights such as the ASC-certified Smoked Salmon, responsibly sourced in line with Aquaculture Stewardship Council standards, paired simply with horseradish cream and capers.

IMG_7669
ASC Seafood Vol-au-vent

Chef’s Signature presents ASC Seafood Vol-au-vent, a delicious buttery pastry generously filled with prawns, crab, and seafood bisque, delivering rich, crustacean-driven flavours.

IMG_7641
Tomato Toast with White Anchovies

IMG_7728
Spanish Gazpacho

On the day of our visit, a standout was the Tomato Toast with White Anchovies, where the natural sweetness of the tomato harmonised with the savoury anchovies. This was complemented by a Spanish Gazpacho, which brought out the bright, refreshing flavours of fresh tomatoes.

Salad Counter

IMG_7736
Roasted Pumpkin with Yoghurt

At the Salad Counter, crisp organic vegetables were offered alongside antipasti, condiments, and house dressings. A plated salad of Roasted Pumpkin with Yoghurt added warmth, while fresh figs made a delightful seasonal appearance.

IMG_7676
Scones

Scones were served warm to the table, accompanied by clotted cream, jam, and kaya. The kaya, with its mousse-like texture, was lighter than the traditional version, making it a perfect complement to the buttery scones. The jam leaned slightly tart, adding balance.

IMG_7709
Vanilla Mille-Feuille

IMG_7710
Red Wine Poached Pear

The dessert tier is also served at your table. A supposed Vanilla Mille-Feuille with Red Wine Poached Pear turned out closer to a French butter cookie, crunchy and buttery, though it veered a touch cloyingly sweet.

IMG_7721
Citrus Pavlova

IMG_7700
Opera Cake, Raspberry Fruit Tart, Chocolate Mousse

The Opera Cake stood out for its deep coffee intensity, while the Citrus Pavlova was dainty and airy. A Seasonal Fruit Tart rounded out the set, marrying tart raspberries with a sweet, custard-like base. While the savouries stood out, the sweets as a whole felt a little too sweet, which overshadowed some of their finer details.

IMG_7726

Overall, while the sweet offerings leaned a little too sweet for my palate, the savoury selections were well-executed and memorable. With wooden bookshelves reminiscent of a library, plush couches, and inviting seating arrangements, 10|SCOTTS feels less like a restaurant and more like a grand living room, offering a warm, comfortable escape from the bustle of Orchard Road.

Pacific Emporium @ Pan Pacific Singapore - Peranakan Afternoon Tea, Celebrating The Rich and Vibrant Flavours of Singapore's Heritage

Savouries group shots-3

In honour of SG60, Pacific Emporium at Pan Pacific Singapore has rolled out a Peranakan Afternoon Tea experience, celebrating the rich and vibrant flavours of Singapore's heritage.

Those with a good appetite will be pleased to know that the Weekend Afternoon Tea menu is served buffet-style and features live stations where chefs prepare dishes fresh to order. The spread offers traditional Peranakan classic dishes as well as a beautiful selection of sweets.

Welcome drink nyonya bloom-1
Welcome Drink- Nyonya Bloom

Our afternoon tea experience started with the Nyonya Bloom, a welcome drink that combined peach and passionfruit with the fragrance of pandan and a hint of gula melaka. It was a sweet and refreshing drink for the afternoon. We also got to choose two other beverages from a selection of TWG teas or Lavazza coffee.

Rojak with beetrook pie tee-1
Peranakan Rojak with Beetroot Pie Tee

Kerabu with baby abalone-1
Nyonya “Kerabu” with Baby Abalone

We then headed over to put together some light bites to start. The Peranakan Rojak with Beetroot Pie Tee stood out with its vibrant red shell and tangy-sweet flavours. At the same time, the Nyonya "Kerabu" with Baby Abalone offered a refreshing mix of herbs and spices, with the tender baby abalone for a touch of indulgence. The shells for both were nice and crispy!

Mackerel mousseline with charcoal bun-2
Mackerel Mousseline in Soft Charcoal Bun

Bakkwa double decker-2
“Bakwa” and Meat Floss Double Decker

Instead of the typical finger sandwiches often seen at afternoon tea, they have Mackerel Mousseline in a Soft Charcoal Bun, as well as a playful "Bakwa" and Meat Floss Double Decker, both offering distinctly local flavours. These were presented in a pull-out drawer as part of the buffet format, though they would have been more enjoyable if warmed up, as the bakkwa was slightly tough when served at room temperature.

Laksa-1
Nyonya Laksa

One of my favourite dishes at local-themed afternoon teas is always laksa, and the Nyonya Laksa from the Live Station did not disappoint. It was easily the best dish of the afternoon for me, thanks to its rich, thick, and flavourful gravy. You can choose toppings of shrimp, beansprouts, quail eggs, and fish puffs. I enjoyed this so much that I had multiple bowls, a perk of the buffet-style service.

Babi pongteh-1
Babi Pongteh

The Babi Pongteh with Blue Pea Rice and Achar was also quite enjoyable. The pork was soft and tender, and the rice had a lovely, subtle fragrance. The accompanying achar added a nice crunch to the dish.

Lobster popiah-2
Five Spice “Lor Bak”

Stuffed chicken wing and 5 spice lor bak-1
Peranakan Stuffed Chicken Wing, Crispy Lobster Popiah

There were three other savoury bites, the Five Spice “Lor Bak”, the Peranakan stuffed Chicken Wing in Inche Kabin style, and the Crispy Lobster Popiah with tamarind-pineapple gravy. These unfortunately did not appeal to me, as I found them a bit dry with a slightly processed mouthfeel.

Banana foster-1
Bananas Foster

Moving on to the sweets, the Bananas Foster live station is a highlight of this buffet experience. Watching the bananas being sautéed in butter and brown sugar adds a touch of theatre to the experience. The warm, caramelised bananas and crepes are served with your choice of whipped cream, chocolate sauce, mango compote, vanilla ice cream, or raspberry passionfruit sorbet. Very delicious and indeed decadent!

You will want to leave some stomach space to sample all the pretty cakes on display. The cakes were well done, and I enjoyed all of them.

Strawberry shortcake-1
Strawberry Shortcake

The Strawberry Shortcake was lovely and light, with fresh strawberries layered between soft vanilla sponge, Speculoos crumble, and Madagascan vanilla Chantilly. Each bite felt like eating a delicate cloud.

Salted caramel tart-1
Hukambi Salted Caramel Tart

The Hukambi Salted Caramel Tart was equally delightful, featuring a luscious blend of sea salt caramel and Hukambi milk chocolate cream nestled in a crisp, buttery tart shell. It's slightly on the sweet side due to the caramel, but still very enjoyable.

Fish tank-2
Fish Tank

The Fish Tank immediately catches your eye, with vibrant blue pea jelly resting atop a matcha financier, finished with a light and zesty yuzu whipped ganache. A highly photogenic cake!

Passionfruit pistachio bar-1
Passion Fruit Pistachio Bar

Hazelnut puff-1
Hazelnut Praline Puff Choux

The Passion Fruit Pistachio Bar features a vibrant, tangy passion fruit mousse atop a pistachio sponge and crunchy base, offering a refreshing balance of tart, sweet, and nutty flavours in every bite. The Hazelnut Praline Puff Choux, meanwhile, is light and airy, filled with a rich, velvety hazelnut praline custard that melts in your mouth.

Scones-1
Golden Sultana and Classic Scones

Golden Sultana and Classic Scones are served to the table, presented in a cloth wrap to keep them nice and warm. They are accompanied by orange marmalade, strawberry jam, and rich English clotted cream. A must-have at any afternoon tea experience.

Cake group shot-4

The Peranakan Afternoon Tea will be served daily from 2 August to 16 November 2025, with two seatings available: 1:00pm to 3:00pm (First seating) and 4:00pm to 6:00pm (Second seating).

On weekends, the afternoon tea is presented buffet-style with live stations and is priced at $68++ per person, or $88++ per person with a glass of Taittinger Brut Réserve Champagne. For children aged 6 to 12, it is priced at $34++. On weekdays, the afternoon tea is served at the table and is priced at $58++ per person, or $78++ per person including a glass of Taittinger Brut Réserve Champagne.

Quenino @ Artyzen Singapore - Launches A New La Carte Menu

Octopus-1

It was a pleasure to return to Quenino at Artyzen Hotel, which has just been recognised as a MICHELIN-selected restaurant. Guided by Melbourne-based Chef Victor Liong and led by Chef Su of Indian-Chinese heritage, Quenino offers a richly layered, multicultural dining experience with a strong Asian focus. We were there to enjoy the latest iteration of their menu. We were pleased to find out that in addition to their Discovery Menu ($200++ per guest), Quenino has also introduced an à la carte menu, giving diners the freedom to curate their own experience.

Tamarillo tart-2
Quenino Prelude- Tamarillo Tart 4/5

The first bite of the Quenino Prelude is the Tamarillo Tart, where a crisp tartlet is topped with tamarillos from the Cameron Highlands, paired with rasam gel, balonglong and chilli caviar. I liked that they showed us the actual Tamarillo fruit to smell and touch!

Spiced yam dumpling-1
Quenino Prelude- Spiced Yam Dumpling 4.2/5

The second bite is a Spiced Yam Dumpling, drawing inspiration from both Indian vadai and Chinese dim sum wu kok. Encased within its crisp, golden shell is a savoury filling of prawns and poached oysters, enhanced with oyster kijap.

Octopus-4
Octopus 4/5

Next came a beautifully plated salad starring Australian Octopus, loosely inspired by Sotong Kangkong. Instead of kangkong, however, the dish features a medley of locally sourced herbs and flowers such as pea tendrils and sweet potato leaves. It is finished with sweet soy sauce espuma, tempeh cream, green mango and Jicama terrine, crispy fish snacks, and macadamia nuts, giving us a playful, textural dish that is both vibrant and intriguing.

Indonesian mud crab-4
Indonesian Mud Crab 4.5/5

The next course of Indonesian Mud Crab was one of my favourites of the evening, a bold and flavourful take on both the hairy crab and the local classic white pepper crab. On top of the egg white custard is rich mud crab and roe, turmeric white peppercorn sauce, fragrant deep-fried shallots, puffed grains, and a savoury touch of cured egg yolk.

Amur caviar-1
Amur Caviar 4.2/5

For something more indulgent, you can opt for the Amur Caviar (supplement +20), sourced from Yunnan, China. It’s elegantly served on a silky bed of dragon chive custard, with scallop mousse, razor clams, and a touch of fermented chilli. A luxurious dish for true caviar lovers, but personally, I found the Indonesian Mud Crab course more memorable.

Green lip abalone-3
Green Lip Abalone 4.8/5

The Green Lip Abalone resembles a piece of Yong Tau Foo, but with a creative twist. Instead of stuffed beancurd, the abalone is filled with prawn and green chilli, then delicately wrapped in veiled bamboo fungus. It's served with a rich brown butter sauce infused with Chinese Angelica herbs. A fusion dish where East meets West, executed flawlessly.

Peach popsicle-3
Peach and Young Gingerflower Popsicle 4.2/5

As a palette cleanser, we were served a Peach and Young Ginger Flower Popsicle topped with cured and candied peach, edible flowers, and served on a dish of dry ice. It was a light and sweet floral interlude that was both visually pleasing and refreshing.

Striploin-2
Stone Axe M9 Wagyu Striploin 5/5

Every dish had been delicious thus far, but the highlight for me was this Stone Axe M9 Wagyu presented with Variations of Garlic. The Stone Axe M9 Wagyu Striploin was juicy, tender, and delightfully marbled, but what truly made the dish outstanding and unique was the imaginative presentation of garlic in five distinct forms. There was jungle garlic dust, a tangy pickled garlic sprout salad, airy black garlic foam, and Quenino’s house green garlic chilli sauce, playfully presented in a fast-food-style packet.

Pink garlic broth-2

Adding a local touch, the dish also came with a warm pink garlic broth inspired by Bak Kut Teh, the beloved herbal pork rib soup. A very clever celebration of garlic that complemented the Wagyu beautifully and gave guests a lot of personal choice as to how to best enjoy their beef.

Fried rice-1
“Fried Rice" 4.8/5

Another standout on their menu is the “Fried Rice”, a creative reinterpretation inspired by three Southeast Asian rice dishes: Fried Rice, Mui Fan, and Nasi Ulam. Guests are presented with condiments carefully arranged in a ring. There is ham floss, house-made X.O. sauce, Chinese olive relish, pickled bean sprouts, cucamelon, spring onions, coriander, garlic sesame crumbs and fried moringa leaf. The rice is then ladled into the centre, inviting guests to sample each condiment with the rice individually, before mixing it all up to enjoy.

Green chilli ice cream-1
Green Chilli Ice Cream 4.2/5

The Green Chilli Ice Cream dessert draws inspiration from Chef Su’s Chinese New Year traditions and the familiar ingredients she often finds at home during the festive season. It features pineapple, almonds, and bakkwa, while the ice cream delivers an extra creamy texture due to the inclusion of yoghurt and cheese.

Petit fours n mignardise-2
Petit Fours and Mignardise 4/5

The Petit Fours and Mignardise showcase the effort put into the curation of the menu, right down to the very last bite. First, we have a crispy waffle infused with black sesame and sea salt, drizzled with fragrant shallot oil. Then, there is a tartlet inspired by Minjiang kueh, but featuring corn, peanut and salted egg yolk instead. On a bed of edible cocoa, we also had Kumquat and Sour Plum Sweets, as well as Bittersweet Chocolate Bonbons filled with rich black sesame paste, crafted in collaboration with Singaporean pastry chef Janice Wong.

Petit fours n mignardise-4

As with my first visit to Quenino, the food remains unique and deeply flavourful, thoughtfully crafted with a deep respect for local ingredients and familiar tastes. The elegant ambience makes it an ideal setting for a special occasion, and with the introduction of their à la carte menu, there’s now even more reason to consider Quenino for your next night out.
