Peppermint @ PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay - Invites You to A Joyous Christmas Celebration

Buffet Spread 4

Salad Bar 1

Step into a world of festive indulgence at Peppermint, where the charm of Christmas meets culinary excellence. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a vibrant farm-to-table salad bar featuring produce harvested from Peppermint's very own urban farm — an eco-conscious touch that set the tone for the meal.

Sashimi

Seasoned Jelly Fish 1

The Seafood-On-Ice spread showcases Tiger Prawns, Clams, Mussels, Scallops and Crawfish, sure to satisfy your bellies. The Japanese section is delighted with fresh chef-sliced Sashimi including Salmon, Tuna, and Tako, alongside a colourful selection of Sushi and Maki. A rare highlight was the Seasoned Jellyfish, an exquisite find that added a unique twist to the buffet. For noodle lovers, a DIY station offers Udon and Soba with an array of condiments to help you create your perfect bowl.

Christmas Roast 3

Christmas Roast 2

Christmas Roast 5

The Festive Carving Station was a showstopper featuring a sumptuous array of holiday classics, such as Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing, Honey Baked Chicken Ham, and Roast Beef.

Ham & Cheese Swirl 1

A decadent Brie Cheese Dip served inside a roasted Pumpkin, paired beautifully with Ham and Cheese Rolls, added a creative flair to the spread.

Indian Spread

Crispy Prata

Diners seeking bold flavours will be satisfied with the rich variety of Indian dishes. A standout was the Crispy Prata Puff, which was perfectly golden and sized to complement the fragrant curries and creamy Butter Chicken.

Dry Laksa 1

Collagen Prawn

Meanwhile, the Southeast Asian section shone with its diverse offerings, from Dry Laksa and Prawns in Collagen Broth to JB-style Curry Fish Collar with Urban Farm Eggplant. Live stations feature made-to-order Chicken Rice and Seafood Noodle Soup. We do find the chicken rice lacking in fragrance; go for the noodle soup, which is light on the palette but rich in flavour.

Dessert 1

Dessert 2

Nonya Kueh

To satisfy our other (dessert) stomach, the dessert spread featured an enticing mix of Nonya Kueh, Christmas-themed Yule Logs, crafted cakes, petite pastries, and verrines. Ice cream lovers could indulge in four refreshing flavours, with the Mint Cucumber Sorbet emerging as our surprising favourite. This refreshing sorbet was the perfect finale to a heavy meal.

Buffet Spread 2

Edge @ Pan Pacific Singapore - Embrace the Joyous Season and Endless Celebrations with Extravagant Buffet Spreads

Meat 1

Embrace the joyous season with endless celebrations and a luxurious dining experience at Edge, Pan Pacific Singapore. From 21 November 2024, indulge in a feast curated by Executive Chef Andy Oh and his talented culinary team. The buffet showcases a harmonious blend of festive classics and international delights, featuring premium seafood, succulent roasts, and the season's signature favourites.

Lobster 1

Oysters 1

The Seafood on Ice station boasts an impressive selection, including Boston Lobsters, Freshly Shucked Oysters, Prawns, Pacific Clams, Sea Conch, and Crawfish. The lobster meat is so sweet, but the oysters are a little less plump than expected.

Cheese 1

Edge never disappoints when it comes to its cheese offerings. A standout for us was the Port Salut, a soft cheese with a smoky undertone that makes it an irresistible treat. We also discovered the Red Pesto Tomme, which adds an intriguing twist to the classic Tomme with its vibrant pesto-infused flavour.

Miso Cod 1

A highlight of the buffet is the Miso Cod Fish. While it may not rival Nobu's version, this dish impressed me with its soft texture, fresh quality, and delicate marinade. Served alongside tender okra, it's a must-try!

Meat 2

Lamb 1

Meat 4

Meat 6

Meat lovers are in for a treat with an extensive selection of festive specialities. The Traditional Roasted Turkey Breast is perfectly cooked to retain its juiciness, while the Maple-Glazed Gammon Ham offers a delightful balance of sweet and savoury flavours. Other highlights include the Roasted Whole Lamb, which is tender and aromatic, and the succulent Roasted Pork Porchetta with its crispy crackling. For a touch of indulgence, the Australian Black Angus Beef Tomahawk steals the spotlight with its rich, smoky flavours. Pair these dishes with a variety of sauces such as apple sauce, olive sauce, and red wine sauce to elevate your dining experience.

Grill Live Station

The Live Grill Station offers an exciting array of freshly prepared delights. From the smoky and flavourful Salt & Pepper Squid to the tender Marinated Angus Beef Short Rib, every bite is a testament to the chefs’ skill. The Grilled Chicken, seasoned to perfection, is a crowd favourite, while the variety of homemade sausages ensures there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Baked Chicken 1

Baked Fish 1

Western classics are another highlight of the buffet. The Slow-Baked Fish Filet in Minestrone Mussels Broth is light yet satisfying, combining the delicate flavours of the sea with a comforting broth. Meanwhile, the Oven-Baked Chicken with Cacciatore and Olive provides a hearty and flavourful option.

Pizza

Pizza lovers can indulge in freshly hand-stretched pizzas with a range of toppings. It's worth a slice if you have a stomach for some carbs!

Indian

Indian station featuring flavoursome curries and traditional favourites such as Butter Chicken, Papadam, Naan and Fish Tikka from the Tandoori oven.

CKT Live Station 1

YTF Noodles Live Station

The buffet's Asian and local offerings are equally impressive. At the Indian station, diners can savour robust curries and other traditional dishes. Local favourites include the iconic Singapore Chilli Crab, paired with fluffy mantou for dipping, as well as a variety of double-boiled soups and stir-fried dishes. The Asian Live Station features piping hot bowls of Laksa, a selection of Yong Tau Foo Soup, and the fragrant Penang Wok-Hei Fried Kway Teow. For those who love roasted delicacies, there are Peking Duck, Roasted Chicken, Pork Belly, and Honey Glazed Char Siew.

Desserts 2

Desserts 3

Desserts 1

No meal at Edge is complete without a visit to the dessert station. The festive spread includes Christmas Log Cakes, Verrines such as Panna Cotta and Durian Pengat, a decadent Chocolate Fountain, and a selection of gelato and sorbet. For those with a penchant for local sweets, the Nyonya Kueh and hot desserts like Cheng Teng provide a comforting end to the meal.

Nitrogen Ice Cream

An exciting addition is the Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream, made fresh on the spot. The Milo flavour is a standout. Just be sure to enjoy it quickly, as it melts fast!

Chocolate 1

Chocolate 2

The praline selection is a delightful surprise, with unique flavours like Mango, Cranberry, Strawberry, and Bandung. Each piece is exquisitely crafted, offering a burst of flavour we absolutely love.

Solo Ristorante @ Telok Ayer - Pasta Mancini Free Flow Brunch Happening Every Saturday with Perfectly Al Dente Pasta

IMG_5089

Solo Ristorante in Telok Ayer is an authentic Italian casual restaurant helmed by Chef Simone Fraternali. For diners curious about their offerings, their new Pasta Mancini Free Flow Brunch is the perfect time to visit. It happens every Saturday and lasts 90 minutes from the time of reservation. The restaurant is known for using artisanal pasta from Mancini, which has been crafted from their own wheat since 1938. The brunch menu rotates seasonally.

IMG_5103

The ambience at Solo Ristorante is warm, cosy, and homely. It has an intimate main dining area and a private dining room suitable for different gatherings. We thoroughly appreciated the attentiveness of the staff throughout our meal here.

IMG_5085
Bread Basket

We started with a Bread Basket filled with fresh, warm, fluffy bread.

IMG_5094
Beverages

From mocktails to cocktails and a specially curated wine list, you will be able to find a beverage of your choice from their extensive selection. At the brunch, exclusive promotions are also available, including 1-for-1 selected house pours of white/red by glass, 10% off all house pour bottles, and $15 on selected Italian classic cocktails.

IMG_5088
Spaghetti 4.2/5

Each diner is limited to ordering one pasta at a time to ensure the best freshness and quality. There are five pastas on the menu, including one Chef's Surprise Pasta, which changes each week. The first pasta we dug into was the classic Spaghetti in a sweet sea urchin sauce topped with crab meat. The brightness of the added lemon zest stands out prominently, a little more than I originally expected. What I loved most was the al dente texture of the pasta.

IMG_5087
Rigatoni 4/5

Next, we had the Rigatoni, which was done in the authentic carbonara style with pecorino romano, guanciale, and black pepper. It would have been perfect if it was just a touch less salty, but again we loved the texture of the pasta. Bits of guanciale were fried super crispy.

IMG_5090

IMG_5091
Paccheri 4.5/5

The Paccheri was my absolute favourite. The tube-shaped pasta was paired with slow braised pork ragout and nutty grana padano cheese. While it looked simple, the balance of flavours was spot on. The pork ragout was tender and so flavourful without being overwhelming. I would have ordered another plate if I could!

IMG_5092
Fusili 4.2/5

As the Chef Surprise Pasta during our visit had beef, which we couldn't try, our last pasta was the Fusili. The spiral pasta was tossed in a bright and herby basil pistachio pesto, topped with a pleasant drizzle of sweet tomato sauce and grana padano.

IMG_5096
Burratina, Melon, Cherry Tomatoes 4/5

In addition to the free-flow pasta options, diners can opt to add additional starters and desserts. Our server recommended the Burratina, Melon, and Cherry Tomatoes ($15) for the starters. It was a classic combination of soft burrata, sweet cherry tomatoes, rocket, and olive oil. However, I wished the bits of sweet melon were given in a more generous portion.

IMG_5095
Garlic Chilli Prawns, Soft Potato 4.5/5

My favourite starter was the Garlic Chilli Prawns, Soft Potato ($20). The grilled prawns were served in a trio, sitting on a bed of soft potato mash. Even though the prawns were fleshy and meaty, I was sold by the smooth mash elevated by fragrant prawn oil.

IMG_5097
Beetroot Carpaccio, Orange, Yoghurt 3/5

The Beetroot Carpaccio, Orange, Yoghurt ($18) is a vegetarian starter option. The yoghurt added a fresh touch, but we found it rather ordinary overall for its price.

IMG_5098
Shaved Ham Pickled Wine Pears 3/5

Originally, the Shaved Ham Pickled Wine Pears ($18) was meant to be served with mortadella, but it was unavailable at our time of visit. We enjoyed the freshly shaved thin slices of ham substitute, but we were less of a fan of the portion of the pickled wine pears.

IMG_5100
Seasonal Tart 3.8/5

We moved to desserts, the first of which was their Seasonal Tart ($12). On the day we visited, the Apricot Tart was available. While thin-crusted, I would prefer for it to have a bit more of a crunch. Flavour-wise, it was tart and bright.

IMG_5101
Gelato 3.8/5

While the Vanilla ($6) Gelato was ordinary, the Pistachio ($6) scoop was rich and nutty, albeit leaning toward being more sweet.

IMG_5099
Tiramisu 4.2/5

Among Solo Ristorante's desserts, we enjoyed the Tiramisu ($12) the most. It had just the right moisture ratio, crumbles scattered on top for additional crunch, and a touch of saltiness for contrast.

Do make a reservation before heading down. It can be done via their website: https://soloristorante.com/.
