It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the festive season in style. Located at the heart of Orchard Road, the hotel presents a thoughtfully curated Christmas line-up that caters to every kind of celebration — whether you’re gathering around a lavish buffet, indulging in a refined afternoon tea, or hosting a memorable feast at home with premium takeaway delights.

MarriottTangXmas2025-8

This year’s festive offerings are particularly exciting, with the debut of 10 new takeaway creations that reimagine traditional Christmas favourites through refined techniques and luxurious ingredients. From indulgent roasts to eye-catching yule log cakes, the collection is designed to bring warmth, indulgence and a touch of elegance to every festive table.

MarriottTangXmas2025-1
Cointreau Marmalade-Glazed Whole Roast Turkey

A Christmas classic elevated to new heights, the Cointreau Marmalade-Glazed Whole Roast Turkey ($265, 4.5–5kg, serves 6–8) is sourced from the USA and meticulously prepared. Brined for 24 hours and dry-aged for enhanced flavour, the turkey is finished with herb butter beneath the skin to ensure juicy tenderness. The Cointreau marmalade glaze adds a delightful citrus brightness to the golden, caramelised skin. Served with Chestnut and Duck Foie Gras Stuffing and Cranberry & Port Wine Sauce, this is a true centrepiece worthy of any festive gathering.

MarriottTangXmas2025-5
Honey & Clove Glazed Ham (Boneless) with Cinnamon Pineapple Sauce

Slow-roasted and generously glazed, the Honey & Clove Glazed Ham ($210, 2-3Kg) delivers comforting festive flavours with its rich caramelisation and aromatic spices. The accompanying cinnamon pineapple sauce adds a fragrant, fruity lift that beautifully balances the smoky sweetness.

MarriottTangXmas2025-15
Roast Pork Saddle with Truffle & Amarena Cherry Stuffing with Bourbon Cherry Sauce

This indulgent roast - Roast Pork Saddle with Truffle & Amarena Cherry Stuffing with Bourbon Cherry Sauce ($240 nett, 2 kg, serves 6 to 8 persons) showcases crisp, ASMR-worthy crackling paired with tender, juicy meat. Butterflied and stuffed with Italian black truffle paste and Amarena cherries, the pork saddle is finished with a tangy-sweet bourbon cherry sauce that cuts through the richness effortlessly.

MarriottTangXmas2025-10
Slow-Roasted Black Angus Beef Striploin with Port Wine Sauce & Horseradish Cream

Marinated for up to four days with fragrant herbs, the Black Angus Beef Striploin ($310 nett, 2 kg, serves 6 to 8 persons) is slow-roasted until meltingly tender. Served with a velvety Port Wine Sauce and a sharp Horseradish Cream, each bite is rich, balanced and deeply satisfying.

MarriottTangXmas2025-11
Smoky BBQ Mount Gay Barbados Rum & Bacon-Glazed Iberico Pork Ribs

The Smoky BBQ Mount Gay Barbados Rum & Bacon-Glazed Iberico Pork Ribs ($195 nett, 1.5 kg to 1.8 kg, serves 6 to 8 persons) is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. These Iberico pork ribs are sous vide for 18 hours for fall-off-the-bone tenderness, then glazed with Mount Gay Barbados Rum, smoky bacon, and spices before oven-baking. The sweet-savoury finish is addictive, and the inclusion of a petite bottle of rum adds a playful festive touch.

MarriottTangXmas2025-21
Whole Lobster al Forno with Scallop, Crab Roe & Morel Stuffing with Crab Lemon Cavatelli Pasta

The Whole Lobster al Forno with Scallop, Crab Roe & Morel Stuffing with Crab Lemon Cavatelli Pasta ($275) is an impressive dish featuring an Australian whole lobster, generously stuffed with Hokkaido scallops, earthy morels and rich crab roe, served with Crab Lemon Cavatelli Pasta. Oven-roasted to enhance its natural sweetness, it is paired with Crab Lemon Cavatelli Pasta — al dente, citrusy and refreshing — making it a refined yet comforting sharing dish.

MarriottTangXmas2025-35
Signature Chocolate Fudge Log Cake

The Signature Chocolate Fudge Log Cake (1 kg, $90 nett / 500 g, $60 nett) is a perennial favourite for good reason. This chocolate indulgence uses premium Felchlin Sao Palme chocolate for deep, lingering richness that chocoholics will adore.

MarriottTangXmas2025-36
Apple Kiwi Yuletide Express

The Apple Kiwi Yuletide Express (1 kg, $95 nett) is bright, playful and refreshing. This vibrant cake layers lemon yoghurt mousse, kiwi coulis, apple compote and vanilla sponge atop a feuilletine crumble base — a fruity showstopper perfect for lighter palates.

MarriottTangXmas2025-30
Avocado Noël Cream Cake

The Avocado Noël Cream Cake (1 kg, $95 nett) is a whimsical festive creation featuring lemon cream cheese mousse, avocado crémeux and gula melaka sponge, complemented by yuzu coconut marshmallows. Light yet indulgent, it’s a delightful surprise that’s especially popular with the ladies.

MarriottTangXmas2025-37
Hazelnut Coffee Yule Log

Elegant and bold, the Hazelnut Coffee Yule Log (1 kg, $95 nett) combines white chocolate coffee mousse, coffee crémeux, hazelnut dacquoise and crunchy praline feuilletine for layers of luxurious texture and flavour.

MarriottTangXmas2025-34
Homemade Sourdough Chocolate and Classic Panettone

No Christmas table is complete without panettone, and the Homemade Sourdough Chocolate Panettone ($90) and Homemade Classic Panettone ($90) stay true to tradition while delivering comforting festive nostalgia.

The Line @ Shangri-La Singapore - An Egg-traordinary Spring Feast Buffet

IMG_2755

The Line at Shangri-La Singapore presents an Egg-traordinary Spring Feast Buffet from 3 to 27 April 2025. Expect an impressive spread that spans Western, Middle Eastern, Indian, and Southeast Asian cuisines, with unlimited servings of premium seafood such as Boston Lobster and Snow Crab.

IMG_2771
Cold Selection and Charcuterie Stations

The Cold Selection and Charcuterie Stations feature a well-curated selection of cheeses, cold cuts, and wholesome salads. One of my personal favourites was the Roasted Kabayaki Salmon Salad with Buckwheat Soba Noodles — light, flavourful, and satisfying.

IMG_2740
Creamy Salted Egg Pasta with Fried Prawn Balls

IMG_2745
Mushroom-Stuffed Chicken Roulade

The Western Station had an outstanding lineup. The Creamy Salted Egg Pasta with Fried Prawn Balls was a straightforward crowd-pleaser, while the Mushroom-Stuffed Chicken Roulade was elevated with a rich mushroom brown sauce.

IMG_2758
Miso-Glazed Barramundi with Creamed Leek

The Miso-Glazed Barramundi with Creamed Leek stood out with its succulent texture and beautiful balance of umami, sweetness, and savoury notes — definitely worth returning for seconds.

IMG_2753
Hungarian Beef Goulash

IMG_2756
Mussels with Chorizo and Cherry Tomatoes

The Mussels with Chorizo and Cherry Tomatoes paired perfectly with bread rolls, as did the hearty Hungarian Beef Goulash.

IMG_2766
Oven-Roasted Australian Wagyu Beef MB9 Bolar Blade

IMG_2764
Traditional Malay-Style Ayam Percik

At the Carving Station, highlights included the Oven-Roasted Australian Wagyu Beef MB9 Bolar Blade with traditional gravy and Traditional Malay-Style Ayam Percik.

IMG_2774
Roasted “Dang Gui” Duck, Roasted Pork Belly

At the Chinese BBQ Station, you can find Roasted "Dang Gui" Duck and Roasted Pork Belly.

IMG_2808
Claypot Seafood Congee

Live stations are scattered throughout the buffet line, including comforting favourites such as Popiah, Claypot Seafood Congee and Singapore Laksa, cooked à la minute.

IMG_2778
Tandoori Live Station, Satay Station

The Indian selection was equally thoughtful. It featured a Tandoori Live Station serving juicy Tandoori Chicken Thighs and a popular Satay Station offering Chicken Satay with traditional accompaniments.

IMG_2729

Desserts were a visual and flavourful delight, with dainty mini tartlets, brownies and crisp Choux Craquelin.

IMG_2728
Chocolate Truffle Cake

One of their signatures is the Chocolate Truffle Cake.

IMG_2727
Key Lime Tart

IMG_2732
Cheesecake

Both the Key Lime Tart and Cheesecake were decadent in their own right.

IMG_2820
Waffle with Ice Creams

One of the dessert highlights was the Live Mochi Waffle Station. The waffles were crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle. They were served with a variety of condiments, though I found they were best enjoyed with two scoops of ice cream for the ultimate hot-and-cold combo.

The promotion will run from 3 April to 27 April 2025, available Thursday through Sunday (excluding 20 April). Our Festive Lunch and Dinner Buffet starts from $68++ per adult for lunch and $118++ per adult for dinner. On 20 April, there will be a special Easter Sunday Brunch from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, starting from $148++ per adult.

Fourgather Thai Casual Dining @ Suntec City Mall - An UnFourgather Thai Meal with Its Second Outlet

Yum Salmon 2

Following the success of their first outlet at Amoy Hotel, modern Thai restaurant Fourgather officially opened its doors at Suntec City in February 2025. This new 66-seater space introduces an exciting menu that masterfully blends traditional Thai flavours with contemporary Western influences. For the first time, Fourgather also launched a dedicated kid's menu, making it a welcoming dining destination for all ages.

Drinks 1
Thai Chrysanthemum, Lemongrass Drink and Thai Milk Tea

We kicked off our meal with three signature Thai beverages: Thai Chrysanthemum ($5.50), Lemongrass Drink ($4.50), and Thai Milk Tea ($4.50). Each drink was well-balanced in flavour, refreshingly aromatic and not overly sweet.

Watermelon Salad 1
Watermelon Salad V2 4.8/5

The Watermelon Salad V2 ($16.90) was a standout dish. Juicy watermelon slices were topped with a tangy Thai dressing, crisp dried fish and peanuts, creating a perfect balance of sweet, savoury, and mildly spicy flavours. The original version, served at their Amoy Street branch, featured cubed watermelon, but this updated rendition felt even more refined and beautifully presented.

Yum Salmon 1
Yum Salmon 3.8/5

The Yum Salmon ($26.90) is a popular Thai dish featuring raw salmon slices tossed in a special Thai sauce. While the flavours were fresh, the choice of salmon cut left something to be desired and we found ourselves wishing for a spicier kick.

Fourgather Pork Party Platter 2
Fourgather Pork Party Platter 4.2/5

The Fourgather Pork Party Platter ($35.90) is a must-try for pork lovers. It features a delightful mix of Thai-style Moo Ping, Crispy Pork Belly, Tender Pork Cutlet, and Grilled Pork Jowl. This platter is perfect for sharing (serving 2–3 people). Accompanied by sticky rice, fresh vegetables, and assorted condiments, every bite was flavourful and well-executed.

Prime Sirloin Steak with Sticky Rice and Papaya Salad 2

Prime Sirloin Steak with Sticky Rice and Papaya Salad 3
Prime Sirloin Steak with Sticky Rice and Papaya Salad 3.5/5

For a tableside Aburi show, order the Prime Sirloin Steak with Sticky Rice and Papaya Salad ($47.90). The top-grade sirloin is seared before being torched tableside. It comes with sticky rice, Thai papaya salad and a zesty Nam Jim Jiao sauce. We opted for the Thai style (instead of Plara) with an extra spice option, though the spice level was barely noticeable. You can also upgrade to a more marbled cut for an additional $4, which we did.

Tom Yum Mama Hotpot 1
Tom Yum Mama Hotpot 3.8/5

Perfect for sharing, the Tom Yum Mama Hotpot ($36.90) serves 3–4 people and is packed with seafood and tender pork simmered in a rich tom yum broth, topped with a soft-cooked egg. While the broth was aromatic, we found ourselves wishing for more spice and tang. Pro tip: Avoid letting the Mama noodles sit for too long, as they tend to get soggy.

Tom Yum Seafood Pasta 1

Tom Yum Seafood Pasta 2
Tom Yum Seafood Pasta 4/5

If you prefer a milder tom yum flavour, the Tom Yum Seafood Pasta ($26.90) is a fantastic option. This dish features a fragrant, creamy tom yum sauce tossed with seafood and topped with crispy lemongrass shreds. It is a well-executed fusion dish we truly enjoyed.

Kids Set B 1
Kids Set B

Fourgather's kid-friendly approach includes four different Kids Sets served in adorable car or airplane bowls. Prices start from $11.90, with customisable mains, sides, and drinks. We tried Set B, in which we opted for Thai Fried Rice with a sunny-side-up egg, cheese chicken balls, tater tots, and apple juice. There are four different Kids' Sets for your little ones while the adults indulge in spicier Thai flavours.

Restaurant

Fourgather's extensive menu caters to all palates, offering everything from classic Thai flavours to inventive fusion dishes. The modern yet cosy ambience, accentuated by neon signs and eclectic decor, makes it a great spot for a quick lunch, a casual dinner or a relaxed gathering with friends and family.

The Black Pearl @ Odeon 333 - A New Roof Top Chinese Restaurant Offering Contemporary Take on Yue Cuisine

BlackPearl37

The Black Pearl, the latest Chinese restaurant to open at Odeon 333, presents a contemporary interpretation of 'Yue' cuisine, encompassing various sub-cuisines of the Greater Canton region. Located on the rooftop of Odeon 333, the lavish interior boasts a panoramic city view, featuring a main dining hall, three modular private dining rooms, a stylish bar, and an exclusive Chef's Table.

BlackPearl7
Crispy Shrimp Rice Roll 4.2/5

The meal begins with a taste of the dim sum menu, highlighted by the Crispy Shrimp Rice Roll ($18). The red hue comes from blending uncooked red rice into the flour mixture, giving the rice roll a vibrant touch. It is wrapped around a deep-fried Vietnamese rice paper fritter filled with prawn and asparagus, complemented by a house-blended soy sauce. The contrast between the smooth rice roll and the crispy interior creates an enjoyable textural experience.

BlackPearl3
Black Pearl Truffle Wild Mushroom Dumplings 4.2/5

Another standout is the Black Pearl Truffle Wild Mushroom Dumplings ($9 for 3pc). Wrapped in delicate dumpling skin and finished with edible gold shimmer, the filling consists of stir-fried chopped flower mushrooms, water chestnuts, asparagus, and carrots mixed with truffle paste and mushroom powder, enhancing the dish's earthy notes.

BlackPearl13
Black Pearl Signature Pork Knuckle Jelly 4/5

Moving on to appetisers, the Black Pearl Signature Pork Knuckle Jelly ($26 for 6pc) presents a modern take on traditional Teochew pork trotter jelly. Moulded into a sphere shape and covered in a jelly layer made of Spanish balsamic vinegar and squid ink, it delivers a burst of flavour in every bite.

BlackPearl17
Otah Mousse in Cones 3.5/5

Inspired by Southeast Asian grilled fish paste, the Otah Mousse in Cones ($9 per portion) features deboned Spanish mackerel blended with egg white, fresh cream, and coconut milk. It is steamed and piped into petite charcoal-tinted cones, paying homage to the traditional method of grilling otah over charcoal. Garnished with crispy salmon skin, it provides an extra layer of texture.

BlackPearl20
Shunde Style Slow-cooked Fish in Thick Broth topped with Crispy Fish Skin 5/5

A crowd favourite, the Shunde Style Slow-Cooked Fish in Thick Broth ($22 per pax) boasts a creamy and flavourful broth enhanced by thinly sliced kaffir lime leaves. This dish is packed with premium ingredients, including sliced red grouper, fish maw, luffa, black fungus, jade fungus, bamboo shoots, dried scallops, fish skin, and shredded ginger for a comforting finish.

BlackPearl1
BBQ Premium Iberico Char Siew 3.8/5

The BBQ Premium Iberico Char Siew ($38) is smoked with thyme, giving it an extra aroma. While most diners enjoyed it, the cut was a bit too fatty for my preference.

BlackPearl27
The Black Pearl Peking Duck 4/5

The Black Pearl Peking Duck ($108) is roasted with lychee wood in a German-made oven for a consistently crisp skin. Served with housemade pancakes, osmanthus flower, sugar, Peking duck sauce, scallions, and cucumber, this dish is a solid choice. For an additional $18, the remaining duck meat can be prepared in three styles: Salt and pepper, Wok-fried Yee Mee with Mustard Green, or Diced Duck with Osmanthus Flower and Lettuce.

BlackPearl30
Crispy Scale New Zealand Cod with Pineapple & Spices Signature Sauce 4.5/5

The Crispy Scale New Zealand Cod with Pineapple & Spices Signature Sauce ($28 per pax) offers a delightful combination of crispy, pan-seared cod with moist, buttery flesh. The accompanying spicy pineapple sauce enhances the dish with tropical, sweet, and spicy notes.

BlackPearl38
Crispy Roasted Pig Stuffed with XO Glutinous Rice 4.2/5

A celebratory dish, the Crispy Roasted Pig stuffed with XO Glutinous Rice ($208 Half/ $398 Full), is topped with caviar. The glutinous rice, cooked with housemade XO sauce, Chinese sausage, and liver sausage, is well-seasoned with a 13-spice powder blend, perfectly complementing the crispy roasted pig.

BlackPearl41
Hakka Braised Tofu Stuffed with Minced Pork 4.5/5

Highlighting The Black Pearl's culinary diversity, the Hakka Braised Tofu Stuffed with Minced Pork ($28) features a soft tofu block filled with minced pork paired with a flavourful braising sauce. This dish, based on Chef Dee's maternal grandmother's recipe, offers a taste of nostalgia and homely comfort.

BlackPearl46
Poached Nai Bai with Superior Broth 4.2/5

A simple yet hearty dish, the Poached Nai Bai with Superior Broth ($24) retains its crunch and is enhanced by a rich broth topped with goji berries and deep-fried shredded dried scallops.

BlackPearl50
Teochew Pan-fried Hor Fun with Seafood 4.5/5

A surprising favourite, the Teochew Pan-Fried Hor Fun with Seafood ($28), features broad rice noodles wok-fried with fish sauce, preserved radish, bean sprouts, prawns, and scallops. The inclusion of Japanese Mangetsu eggs adds layers of flavour and aroma, while the pancake-like presentation makes it visually appealing.

BlackPearl58
Pumpkin Sago with Coconut Milk 4.2/5

Ending the meal on a sweet note, the Pumpkin Sago with Coconut Milk ($8 per pax) blends Japanese pumpkin with fresh cream and coconut milk for a smooth consistency. The inclusion of pumpkin cubes and sago adds a pleasant texture, and diners can enjoy it chilled or hot.

While The Black Pearl delivers well-executed and delicious dishes, many of them can be found in other Chinese restaurants across Singapore. The restaurant succeeds in offering a comfortable dining experience with quality ingredients and refined cooking techniques. However, it is still in search of a unique identity to truly stand out as a gem in Singapore's competitive Chinese dining scene. Nonetheless, with its prime location, stylish setting, and diverse menu, The Black Pearl is undoubtedly worth a visit for those looking to indulge in contemporary Cantonese cuisine.
