IMG_9672ed

The BreadTalk Group not only launches their new BreadTalk Cafe, the group has also introduced an all new specialty dessert cafe featuring Asian desserts. The latest addition to the group and Suntect City is All Things N'ice, a 36 seater dessert cafe modelled after an indoor garden with the use of furniture and tiles in natural green, khaki and brown finishing. It is understand that the hot and cold Asian specialty desserts at All Things N'ice are handmade from scratch and comprising premium ingredients specially sourced and imported.

Yam in a Husk 4/5

Yam paste or Orh Nee which is a Teochew dessert that is usually eaten during wedding dinner. The Yam in a Husk ($4.20) is a rendition of this traditional dessert. The smooth yam paste and ginko nuts were steamed and served in a young coconut husk lending an extra aroma and richness to it. If you like, you can also eat the coconut flesh.

The classic Signature Cheng Tng ($2.80) comes in both hot and cold. The soothing longan flavoured soup at All Things N'ice is accompanied by more than 10 ingredients such as the premium quality longans imported from Taiwan, dried persimmon, candied winter melon, red dates, ginko nuts, white sago, taro and sweet potato balls.

The Signature Chendol ($3.20) was generously topped with red beans, white sago, attap chee, chendol, in a delightful mixture of shaved ice, gula melaka syrup and coconut milk. Silvers of jackfruit was also added to give the dessert an extra lift.

Taro Balls with Red Beans 4/5

The youth should enjoy this dessert with the popular influence of Taiwan dessert of taro balls. The Taro Balls with Red Beans ($3.50) consists of tasty and chewy and bite sized honey taro balls, red beans and grass jelly was an delightful treat for a hot day.

All Things Mango 3/5

All Things Mango ($4.20) comprises of shaved ice, fresh mango cubes, pure mango puree, red and green beans, attap chee palm fruits, jelly cubes and pomelo. Unfortunately this interpretation was short of my expectation, it was more like an ice kachang dessert instead of a mango feast.

BreadTalk Cafe @ Suntec City

IMG_9652ed

All day breakfast? No I meant All Day Everywhere BreadTalk. With the newly refurnished Suntec City, BreadkTalk has launched a new bakery cafe concept with new breads, pastries and dine in menu. The first BreadTalk Cafe is located at the basement of Suntec City, offering a languid setting with views of the Fountain of Wealth.

Portobello Party 3.5/5

Dinner began with the Portobello Party ($7.90) served with rocket leaves and tomaotes. The portobello mushroom and cheese is already an excellent combo that was further accentuated with the stuffed bacon and spinach in melted cheese.

Shrooms Green Curry 2.8/5

Moving to the main, I tried the Shrooms Green Curry Pasta ($12.90). The interesting Thai twist to the Italian classic came with fresh prawns, straw mushroom and button mushroom in a green curry sauce. While there was a distinct green curry flavour, the spaghetti lacked either a creamy or tangy sauce to bring the whole dish together.

Sardinah Pizza 4/5

Sardine for pizza? It may sounds weird but it was actually very good. The Sardinah Pizza ($7.90) topped with sardine, hard boilled egg, cheese, sundried tomatoes and spicy mayonniase actually reminded me of sardine curry puff. I heard that the Curry Oleh Pizza was pretty good too. Looking forward to come back and try it.

Brownie Overload 3.5/5

The Brownie Overload ($6.80) is served with a scoop of Movenpick ice cream. The brownie was actually not bad. It was quite moist and I enjoyed the crunchy oatmeal base of the brownie.

Choc A Brioche

Besides the dine in menu, BreadTalk Cafe also carries some of BreadTalk's signature items such as their Floss Bun. For the cafe, an exclusive variety of freshly baked treats are only available at the cafe such as the Choc A Brioche ($2.20) filled with chocolate chips and custard cream. The new creations also feature the Love Submarine ($2.80), a Danish pastry topped with custard cream, strawberry and pistachio. My favourite is the savoury Skinny Cheese ($2.20) with parmesan, cheddar and blue cheese.

Open at 8am, BreadTalk Cafe is perfect for busy professionals working in the area to drop by for a quick breakfast. The welcoming cosy cafe is also perfect for both professionals and shoppers to have a meeting, lunch, teatime or dinner.
