Wildfire Burgers @ Robertson Walk - Gourmet Burgers at Affordable Prices

WildfireBurger21

Wildfire Burgers, located in the heart of Robertson Walk, has emerged from a revamp with a brand new menu that not only elevates the dining experience but also reinforces its status as a go-to destination for gourmet burgers, succulent steaks, enticing sides, and a diverse drinks menu. With the closure of its other outlets, the Robertson Walk flagship stands as a beacon for those seeking a delicious yet affordable gourmet burger.

WildfireBurger1
Wedge Salad 3.5/5

Kicking off our dinner, we delved into the Wedge Salad ($13), a refreshing ensemble of iceberg lettuce dressed in creamy parmesan sauce. Topped with crispy bacon, cherry tomatoes, Spanish onions, crumbled blue cheese, walnuts, and crushed Kampot peppercorn, it's a firework of flavours that complement the crunch of the iceberg lettuce. The marriage of textures and tastes offers a delightful start to the meal.

WildfireBurger6
Salt & Vinegar Fried Onion Rings 3/5

The Salt & Vinegar Fried Onion Rings ($8) aimed to reinvent the classic, infusing extra saltiness and tanginess. While the intention was commendable, it fell slightly short of expectations. Thicker onion rings might enhance the sweetness of the onion, aligning better with taste preferences.

WildfireBurger8
Golden Chicken Nuggets 4.2/5

The Golden Chicken Nuggets ($8 for 6pc/ $10 for 9pc) emerged as a clear favourite. A classic elevated to gourmet heights, these nuggets, made with 100% chicken, were served with a delightful array of sauces: Japanese Curry Mayo, Nacho Cheese, or Chipotle Mayo. The pairing with Japanese Curry Mayo is particularly recommended, surpassing expectations and outshining similar offerings from an 'M' brand restaurant.

WildfireBurger16
Truffled Mushroom 4.8/5

The Truffled Mushroom ($18 Single/ $22 Double) stood out among the eight gourmet burgers. Nestled between butter-toasted brioche buns, the stone axe wagyu patties delivered a burst of flavour. Truffled mayonnaise, sautéed mushrooms, Monterey Jack cheese, beer-pickled onions, and master sauce formed a symphony of taste. The judicious preparation of the wagyu patty, allowing for a chunky bite, added to the allure.

WildfireBurger10
Hot Honey Butter Chicken 4/5

For those eschewing beef, alternative options like Ottoman Lamb, Black Halibut, and Hot Honey Butter Chicken burgers await. The Hot Honey Butter Chicken ($18 Single) presents a generously sized, hot and spicy fried chicken thigh adorned with whipped Sriracha honey butter and crispy bacon. Sandwiched between butter-toasted brioche buns and drizzled with master sauce, it provides a spicy symphony for the taste buds, delivering crunch and flavour in every bite.

Wildfire Burgers at Robertson Walk has not just reopened; it has rekindled a flame, offering a gourmet burger experience at affordable pricing that tantalizes the senses and sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.

Fatburger @ Kinex Mall - American Burger Chain Since 1952 Opens In Singapore

FatBurger2

Fatburger, an iconic burger stand in Hollywood since 1952, has made its way to Singapore, first at Kinex Mall, and soon to be opening at Velocity. At Fatburger, they want you to have the burger just the way you want it. Each burger is cooked to order with toppings fully-customisable, including the buns which you can choose from brioche, wholemeal and even gluten-free.

FatBurger16
Double 3.5/5

The beef patties here are chilled and never frozen, with a ratio of 80 percent lean meat to 20 percent fat. I decided to double up the pleasure of having my very first Fatburger by ordering The Double ($10.90) with add-ons cheese and fried egg ($1 each). For a start, the buns were really good - soft, light and fluffy, with the toasted side bringing out the butteriness of the buns. The patties though well-done, were still quite juicy and nothing like those dull patties from fast food chains. Together with fresh and crunchy lettuce, I must say coming from a quick service restaurant, the quality of their burgers are better than expected.

FatBurger9
Quad 3.5/5

You could have your name up on the Wall of Fame if you took on the Quad Fatburger ($15.90) or go to the other extreme by having it Skinny which the patties become the buns and sandwich the toppings.

FatBurger20
Chilli Cheese Fries 3/5

Complete your meal with sides such as Fat Fries ($3.90), Skinny Fries ($3.90), Sweet Potato Fries ($5.90) or even better their Chilli Cheese Fries ($5.90). I like the American-style chilli that blanket the fries which is made in-house daily with fresh minced beef. It is sweet and smokey that became goozy after the cheddar cheese melted, giving the fries a tasty coat. But the minced beef can definitely be a lot more.

FatBurger4
Onion Rings 3.5/5

The Onion Rings is a must try. You will notice that they ain't identical, simply because they are homemade with fresh onions daily. Hence, each golden-brown ring is sweet and juicy with onion-y sweetness.

FatBurger7
Buffalo Wings 2.8/5

At each outlet, Fatburger will be co-branded with Buffalo’s Express, renowned for its chicken wings and chicken sandwiches. You will be spoilt for choice with 7 sauces to choose from - sweet, spicy or the sweat-inducing Death Valley.I managed to try the Death Valley. It was actually quite tasty as the first note that hit me was a deep chilli-sweetness rather than an assaultive tongue-numbness heat.

FatBurger12

Burger and milk shake is the classic American combo. Hence the ideal American experience is to wash all the heat and spice down with Fatburger’s rich and creamy Milkshakes, made with real hand-scooped ice cream. There are Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry and Oreo flavours. I'm sure you already have in mind which flavour to go for with your burger.

Outback Steakhouse @ Orchard Gateway - Celebrating 30 Hearty Years Of American Food And Australian Fun

20180801_132621

In conjunction with their 30th anniversary, Outback Steakhouse at Orchard Gateway would like to reward their customers with a '30 and Better’ campaign. Between now till 30th September, enjoy great discounts off your meals that gets bigger as more of you fill up the tables! 30 and better indeed, with that years of experience in serving you Australia-inspired American fare, Outback Steakhouse put together a new menu which offer dishes made with improved recipes and ingredients, fine tuning their steaks to satisfy every angle of your taste buds.

20180801_130053
Typhoon Bloom 3.8/5

This Typhoon Bloom is said to be synonymous with Outback Steak, an appetiser set to leave you in awe. Very thinly coated with batter, I was surprised by how sweet and juicy these fresh onion strings were. Spiked with Outback’s secret seasonings, it was really tough to stop the moment it was served to our table, especially so when the tangy dip added on to the pleasure.

20180801_131218
Appetizer Platter 2.8/5

Appetizer Platter ($21.90) allows you to try their new Crispy Volcanic Shrimps, Kookaburra Wings and Lemon Butter Calamari. The Volcanic Shrimps was sweet spicy with sriracha aioli sauce and the Kookaburra Wings was finger licking good crispy exterior and succulent meat, not forgetting the blue cheese dip. The calamari, however, tasted very much like frozen stock.

20180801_131955
Ribeye 3/5

For steaks, we chose the Ribeye 10z ($47.90) with Coleslaw and Loaded Baked Potato. Seasoned and seared with their secret 17 seasoning blend, the Ribeye was chargrilled over open flame to draw out the flavours from the meat and fats all together. The Loaded Baked Potato was soft and fluffy, my Coleslaw was sadly too dainty a portion.

20180801_131657
Baby Back ribs 2.8/5

If you look for meats that fall-off-the-bones, the Baby Back Ribs ($25.90 half) here would probably disappoint you.

20180801_131742
Toowoomba 3/5

You might be better off with their pastas which we enjoyed it much more than the ribs. We had Toowoomba ($29.90), the tomato cream sauce was easy on the pasta and worked really well with the prawns. The price can be a lot friendlier though. That's when the discount comes in handy!

20180801_142016
Apple Pie 3/5

We had an Apple Pie Ala Moda ($15.90) to sweeten the deal. Although it looked like a "failed attempt" with a flatten crust, when the cold ice cream meets the thick and chunky layers of warm apples in my mouth, the flavours fell into place.

As the level of discount increases with the number of pax dining in, it does make a lot of sense to come in groups and try out more of their new items.

HANS IM GLÜCK @ Republic Plaza - Fairy Tale-like German Burger Chain Opens 2nd Outlet In Singapore

HansImGluck3

With birch tree trunks stemming from floor to ceiling, the foresty ambience within HANS IM GLUCK at Republic Plaza might have you slightly fuzzled initially. While this might be your first time 'dining-in-the-woods', some might have already experienced this before when its first outlet opened in Orchard months ago. Combining gourmet burger concept with German draft beers, cocktail mixology and seasonal offerings, this double-storey flagship burgergrill is HANS IM GLUCK's latest outlet in the CBD. Originated from Munich, it specialises not just in beef and chicken but vegan and vegetarian as well. All the sauces used are vegan and on each table, there is a Allergen booklet which you can refer to. That probably makes it the most thoughtful burger place ever.

HansImGluck19
Geissbock 3.5/5

HansImGluck16
Alsdann 3/5

The burger patties here are made using 100% premium grain-fed beef, balanced with 20% fats. What can be a little disappointing is that although they belong to the Gourmet Burger category, all patties adhered to a well-done standard, which I find them somewhat dry and too flat, almost like a sandwich. That said, the variety of interesting combination makes up for it, such as pairing the patty with grilled pear, mild blue cheese sauce and walnut Alsdann ($17), or feta cheese, bacon and fig jam Geissbock ($17). In fact, most of them sound really yummy to me, especially the sharp, gooey, savoury and sweet combination. I prefer Geissbock to the latter, as it offers a lot more dimensions in terms of flavors. Alsdann falls short a little as I was expecting the grilled pear to be a lot sweeter to be up against the blue cheese but it turned out to be rather bland.

HansImGluck12
Klassik 3.5/5

All burgers can be double up with an extra patty at $4, and each come with a choice of a sourdough bun, multigrain bun or naked. What I appreciate is how the buns remain fluffy and pleasingly dry, unlike some which are be really soggy and greasy with butter. If you are having yours naked, perhaps it's good ask for less dressing as mine was soaked in sauce. Well, if everything is too much, just head for the mother of all burgers Klassik ($14)!

HansImGluck9
Fabelhafter 3/5

I had my first ever vegan burger Fabelhafter - Wheat patty with avocado cream, orange-mustard sauce & herby garden salad. Though i'm still skeptical about vegan alternative, especially on how it attains that meaty texture, the tender and nicely seasoned wheat patty lifted that thought away for a while.

HansImGluck5

The lunch specials here are quite worthwhile, considering the top up of $5 gets you a free side, coffee or tea, and a thirst quencher. The chunky 1 pfund Fritten - One pound of hans im glück steak fries and crusty Ringelrein - Beer-battered onion rings leave quite an impression, but their 1 pfund Susskartoffel Fritten - One pound of sweet potato fries is really what I will crave for. Each strip is sweet and starchy, with lovely crisp edges. Their version of Krautknolle (traditional german white cabbage salad) is more refreshing than the usual, with its crunchy chopped cabbage and potato dressing.

HansImGluck2

For the evening crowd, top up $15 to get a side order and a cocktail. My citrusy Lebemann (Bourbon, apricot brandy, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon & sugar) was great with all the meats and fried food. If that's too sweet for you, German Draft Beers are always available.

Do take some time to read the Hans im Gluck fairy tale in the menu. It talks about being present in the moment, like how you should enjoy the food! Spot the animals and other forest elements, and observe how the synchronized lighting that mimics the changes from day to night when you visit at different hours of the day.

HansImGluck7

Tuesdays at Hans Im Gluck is ladies night promotion exclusive to the raffles place outlet entitles all ladies to free-flow cocktails from 530pm to 8pm.
