Triple-O's @ Orchard Towers

IMG_4183ed

I have to confess that I have not heard of Triple-O's until my recent visit to the burger chain at Orchard Tower. The popular burger chain from Vancouver since 1928 has quietly come to our shore without much rah-rah. Can you believe that this burger chain is older than Macdonald? Currently they have 3 outlets at Orchard Tower, Star Vista and Asia Square Mall. Triple O's proud themselves for serving the sauciest, juiciest, tastiest and bestest burgers in town.

Breakfast Club 4.2/5

We started our meal with Triple-O's Breakfast Club Burger ($7.90). The burger which comes with bacon, egg and hashbrown is sandwiched in a delectable soft bun and drenched with a delish special sauce. Triple-O's is not exactly a fast food chain as their burgers are freshly made to order, so do expect to wait around 7 minutes before it is served. What is having a burger without fries and milkshake. The Sweet Potato Fries ($2.90) was crispy on the outside and soft inside served with chipotle sauce while the milkshake was thick and creamy.

Bacon Cheese Burger 4.2/5

A thing to note at Triple-O's is that the burger's pickle is served separately. Some customers do not like pickle and I thought this is a good way for them to decide themselves whether to add the pickle to their burger or not. The Bacon Cheese Burger ($12.90) was pretty juicy and tasty. Each bite came with delightful crispy bacon as the freshly made beef patty was fully wrapped with bacon.

Fish Burger 3.5/5

The Fish Burger ($13.90) came with a fried pickle which you have a choice to whether add to your burger. While the fish fillet was thick and moist, I felt the burger lacked a satisfying sauce to hold it together. As the burger comes in 2 separate fillets, it was also a bit difficult to handle and eat.

With the availability of space at the new outlet at Orchard Tower, the owner has also introduced Felix's Corner. A little space for the their French chef to offer some French delicacies.

French Style Egg Benedict 4.2/5

From Felix's Corner, I tried the French Style Egg Benedict ($8.90). I have to admit the appearance of the dish served in styrofoam plate turned me off with its presentation. Never judge a book by its cover, how true it was with Felix's Corner's version of Egg Benedict. Unlike the usual poached egg, the chef cut a hole in the brioche and cracked an egg inside it. The soft and buttery brioche with fried egg drenched with a homemade hollandaise sauce was surprisingly so good that I could not help going back for more.

Whole Wheat Waffle with Syrup & Peanut Butter 4/5

The other item I tried was the Whole Wheat Waffle with Syrup & Peanut Butter ($4.50). Toasty crisp on the outside, fluffy and buttery in the outside, this is one of the better waffle I had.

I can't help to compare Triple-O's with Omakase. Considered the burgers at Triple-O's are made to order and the size of it, I am more than happy to pay for it. I am glad that I have found a good burger to go to now.

  1. The burgers look mean and humongous. I wonder what's the proper way of eating the fish burger? hahaha

  3. I walked by this place just a couple of days ago, but it wasn't open. Coincidently, my name is Felix, hence I was keen to try and take picture. So disappointed. Anyway, Derrick, good write-up, and btw, what camera do you use to take these pictures, if its not a secret...Hehe...
