Nestled in Suntec City, The Butcher's Kitchen Express launches the much-anticipated Flaming Hokkaido Beef Bowl in Singapore, the first-of-its-kind. Also part of The Butcher’s Group of Companies – one of the largest butcher retailers in Singapore with over 15 years of history, a wide selection of grass-and-grain fed meats are imported directly from Australia and Japan to ensure the freshness and quality of meats, free of antibiotics and growth steroids. Alongside with this brand new offering, diners can also look forward to the other non-beef options on the menu as well – The Butcher's Pork Bowl and The Butcher's Salmon Bowl.

The Butcher’s Flaming Hokkaido Beef Bowl 4.5/5

The Butcher’s Flaming Hokkaido Beef Bowl ($23.90) features thinly sliced, tender and juicy premium beef imported from Hokkaido, stacked on a bowl of Japanese rice before being topped with The Butcher's Signature sauce, in-house made yogurt and parsley for garnish. The beef stack is then doused with a flaming cognac concoction and torched in rapid bursts of flames, sparking off a culinary spectacle which is a sight to behold. Not all just for show though, the alcohol imbues the meat with a subtle fruity and floral note, adding hints of smoky caramelization to each bite. Do note that from 13 Jan to 14 Feb 2018, The Butcher's Flaming Hokkaido Beef Bowl will go at 50% off its regular price. Definitely a steal at $11.90!

The Butcher’s Pork Bowl 4.2/5

The Butcher’s Pork Bowl ($12.90) features top quality free-range pork from Linley Valley, Western Australia. The meat is marinated Thai-style which imparts a sweet flavour, and slow roasted to render its inside more succulent and texture perfectly done. Pair those juicy pork slices with rice mixed with furikake seasonings which adds a balance of salty and savoury flavour to the sweet pork. The dish also comes with a chilli side to dip your pork in for a sour-spicy tang.

The Butcher’s Salmon Bowl 4.2/5

The Butcher’s Salmon Bowl ($13.90) features fresh Atlantic Salmon sourced from Kvarøy, a tiny island off the coast of central Norway. Lightly seared so that the fish retains moisture with a light crisp outside and a melt-in-the-mouth consistency within, they are topped on Japanese rice mixed with furikake seasonings and drizzled over with wasabi mayo sauce to further enhance the taste of the entire dish with a pleasant savouriness.

Overall, the dining experience at The Butcher's Kitchen Express is a gratifying one. With just three offerings on the menu, the eatery has seen endlessly long queues since its launch, especially with their Grand Opening Special ongoing for a limited time period with a half price promotion for all their bowls. The Butcher’s Kitchen Grand Opening Specials: Valid from 13 January to 14 February 2018 - $11.90 for all bowls.

Kueh Garden (福粿园) @ Jurong East - The Ang Ku Kueh Is As Good As Ji Xiang Confectionery At Everton Park

KuehGarden5

The traditional Ang Ku Kueh or loosely translated as red tortoise cake is an oval shape Chinese pastry made of red soft sticky glutinous rice flour skin wrapped around peanut or green bean filling in the centre. Nowadays the traditional Ang Ku Kueh does not only come in red color but a variety of fillings too. One of such confectionery that has kept up with time with their colourful Ang Ku Kueh is Kueh Garden (福粿园) at Jurong East.

KuehGarden9

Besides the original Ang Ku Kueh filled with peanut and green bean, Kueh Garden offers a colourful variety such as Red Bean, Sweet Corn, Sweet Potato, Coconut, Coffee, Green Tea, Yam, Durian, Salted Bean and Milo. They range between 90 cents to a dollar each piece.

Besides the vibrant colours of the Ang Ku Kueh and its interesting filling especially durian and milo, catering to the modern tastebuds and younger generation. The highlight of the Ang Ku Kueh is their mochi-like texture. It is so soft and chewy. The texture is comparable to the renowned Ji Xiang Confectionery's Ang Ku Kueh at Everton Park.

Besides the different Ang Ku Kueh, Kueh Garden sells a variety of traditional kueh such as Soon Kueh, Ku Cai Kueh, Png Kueh, Ondeh Ondeh, 9-Layer Kueh and more. More interesting is the Kueh Platter that is suitable for gathering and celebration. You can even order them online.
