Stepping in the ballroom of InterContinental Hotel Singapore, I was memorized by the beautiful decoration in white. It felt like I have stepped into an enchanted garden.
Much effort was also made by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to bring the culinary teams of Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Holiday Inn Atrium, Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre and InterContinental Singapore together, under one roof to cook up a Christmas feast, showcasing each individual hotel's Christmas offerings.
New on the takeaway menu this year is the Ash & Elm Platter from InterContinental Singapore, with house cured meats including beef pastrami, cold roast beef, presse de foie gras with smoked duck, air dried pork belly and smoked pork loin.
The Crown of Lamb Rack definitely caught my attention and I could not resist helping myself to it, accompanied with potatoes, mint jelly, vine tomatoes and mushrooms.
Walking over to the Holiday Inn Atrium, I had more serving of the Pan Seared Lobster and Roasted Lamb.
How can we not have Turkey for Christmas. As usual, every hotel will specially create their own unique turkey offering for the festive season. From Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre, I tried their signature Tandoori Turkey marinated with aromatic Indian spices and served with cranberry chilli sauce.
Among all the turkeys I tried at the Christmas dinner, my favourite is the Roasted Turkey with Turmeric Coriander Spices accompanied by a rich and palate pleasing Spicy Coconut Cream Sauce from Crowne Plaza Changi Aiport. In fact it not only won my palate but many of the diners too.
Of course the other must for Christmas is the log cake. From traditional to new creation, there were so many delicious log cakes to try. Once again hat off to the chef at Crowne Plaza for the Ispahan-inspired Log Cake with Raspberries Yoghurt Mousse, it managed to make my day even merrier.
