This year Man Fu Yuan at Intercontinental Singapore has partnered with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in a design competition for its mooncake packaing. The winning pieces from over 100 entries is design student Ng Chee Yin's interpretation of the ancient Chinese folklore, Jade Rabbit and Moon Goddess Change Er. The calligraphic profile of "满" is shaped in the form of a rabble whilst incorporating the circular structure of the moon symbolising reunions, a central theme of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The new flavours introduced this year by Man Fu Yuan is the Pulat Hitam Mooncake. An inspired creation from the popular Peranakan dessert. the mooncake is filled with a creamy centre of black glutinous rice pudding.
For the health conscious customers, Man Fu Yuan also introduces a low sugar version of the tradtional white lotus seed paste mooncake. The ever popular Mao Shan Wang Durian Mooncake with Coconut will also be available this year. The heavenly blend of premium durian pulp and fragrant coconut milk is simply too good to resist.
The traditional baked mooncake collection comes with a variety of fillings to suit different palates, such as Assorted Nuts, White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts and Red Bean Paste with Melon Seeds.
For those prefer snowskin mooncakes, there are unique snowskin favourites such as aromatic Green Tea Paste with Dragonball Jasmine, smooth White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts and rich Sesame Paste with White Sesame Seeds.
