After hearing about Tom's Palette's Salted Egg Yolk ice cream from Charlene, Jacob, Celes and me made our way down to Tom's Palette Ice Cream parlour at Shaw Leisure Gallery to check it out. The homemade ice cream parlour has been scooping ice cream since September 2005. I am quite surprise that they were around even before popular ice cream parlour such as Udders, Ice Cream Chef, Marble Slab Creamery etc.
Salted Egg Yolk & Chocolate 4/5
Celes had the Salted Egg Yolk & Chocolate ($4 medium). The salted egg yolk ice cream definitely did not disappoint us. The taste and grainy texture of the ice cream resembles those salted egg yolk one can find in mooncakes.
We also noticed that the ice cream melted very quickly. After reading up Tom's Palette's website, I realised they do not add stabilisers in their ice cream. It is as natural as it can get for their ice cream. Although stabilisers are extracted from natural sources such as seaweed and algae and added to ice cream to slow down the melting process, the source is natural but the extraction method is man made.
Salted Egg Yolk and Quattro 4/5
For me, I tired the Salted Egg Yolk & Quattro ($4 medium). Quattro was the flavour of the month of July. It is made with sangria, pineapple, raisin and orange. It had a very interesting taste for ice cream and the closest similarity will be Japanese sake, light and refreshing.

2) Alight at Esplanade MRT station. Take Exit A. Walk to level 2 of Suntec City Mall. Take the overhead bridge across Nicoll Highway. Walk towards Shaw Leisure Gallery. Journey time about 15 minutes.
