Elephant Parade Singapore 2011 Part 3

The Elephant Parade is the world’s largest open air art exhibition of decorated elephant statues that seeks to attract public awareness and support for Asian elephant conservation. When the Elephant Parade 2011 came to Singapore back in Novemeber 2011, I decided to go around the island to capture all the 162 life size elephants that are exhibit in various parts of the island.

For the past one month plus I have been going around the island taking pictures of these beautiful decorated elephants by international artists and celebrities. It was the rainy season and many times my plan was disrupted or postponed. Some of the elephants also started to move around as in not they moved by themselves but transported by forklift to more elephant friendly locations which made it harder to locate them.

Nevertheless, I am glad that I persisted and finished the goal that I have set for myself. Enjoy the snap shoots of the 162 elephants on parade in Singapore 2011 below.

There is still a last chance to view all these 162 life size elephants gathered together at Singapore Botanic Gardens, Eco Lake from 8 to 11 January 2012 before they are being auction off.

Black Canyon Coffee is a local Thailand brand that has a history dated back to 1993. It has more than 190 branches all over Thailand. It is one of the coffee house I would visit whenever I am in Thailand. It has an extensive food menu covering western, eastern and local Thai cuisines.

I am glad that someone has franchised Black Canyon Coffee to Singapore. It sort of got be excited when I get to know that it is conveniently located near One North MRT station.

Chicken Green Curry 4/5

The Chicken Green Curry is the perfect pairing for the plain rice. I love the thick creamy green curry over my rice. The chicken was also very tender. Unfortunately the Thai eggplant was a bit tough, cooking it a few more minutes would be perfect.

Prawn Tom Yum Soup 4/5

I thought the Prawn Tom Yum Soup was a bit different. The restaurant used quite a lot of shallots in the soup. Not sure if that is the reason, the soup tasted not as sour. It lacked that sour kick I was looking for in a bowl of Tom Yum Soup.
