First Thai Food @ Purvis Street

If you are looking for Thai food near Bugis or City Hall area, you can check out this Thai restaurant at Purvis Street. It has the 80's coffeeshop setting with no air conditioning. Do expect some waiting time as they do not accept reservation.

Food was good across the board. The tom yam seafood soup was tangy and spicy with a generous serving of decent sized prawns. The minced pork with basil was a simple but excellent sweet and spicy dish that goes every well with the rice. The green curry was a bit salty but just right when eaten as a gravy with the rice.

Tom Yam Seafood 4/5

Minced Meat with Basil 4/5

Yong's Teochew Kueh @ Upper Serangoon Road

This Teochew Kueh stall has been around at Upper Serangoon Road for a long time. Every weekend morning I would see a long queue of people eating and buying Teochew Kueh from the stall.

My favourite is the soon kueh here. I enjoyed the fullest of its filling and the smooth silky skin.
