Mom's Touch @ China Square Central - Returns to Singapore with Bigger, Juicier Chicken Burgers and K-Culture Flair

MomsTouch-7

Korean burger and fried chicken brand Mom’s Touch is back in Singapore. After leaving the local scene in February 2022, the popular Korean brand returns on 14 August 2026, opening along South Bridge Road with a refreshed menu, hand-battered fried chicken, and a strong dose of K-culture.

Known for its generously sized chicken burgers and crispy fried chicken, Mom’s Touch is promising an upgrade for its second coming in Singapore. Each chicken thigh patty is made with 100% chicken thigh, hand-battered and fried to order, so diners get hot, crispy, juicy chicken straight from the fryer.

The comeback also introduces several Singapore-exclusive creations alongside new K-inspired flavours. Adding to the excitement is a collaboration with girl group LE SSERAFIM, the brand’s global ambassador, with exclusive merchandise and a K-pop experience for fans.

MomsTouch14
Super Thigh Chicken Burger 4/5

The Super Thigh Chicken Burger ($9.95) is the Singapore-exclusive creation and easily one of the most substantial burgers on the menu. At its centre is Mom’s Touch’s signature whole crispy chicken thigh, noticeably hefty and giving the burger plenty of bite. The chicken is encased in a craggy, golden-brown batter that delivers a satisfying crunch, while the meat underneath remains juicy and tender. It comes with lettuce, fresh onions, and pickles, adding freshness and acidity to balance the substantial fried chicken. What makes this Singapore edition different is the secret Singapore sauce, which brings together Korea’s familiar savoury-sweet profile with a bolder, peppery kick. The combination works particularly well with the juicy chicken thigh. It is hearty, indulgent and definitely built for those who enjoy their burgers with plenty of fried chicken.

MomsTouch7
All-in Chicken Burger 4/5

If you believe there is no such thing as too much chicken, the All-in Chicken Burger ($8.95) takes that idea quite literally. Available with either a crispy fried chicken thigh or breast patty, the burger is stacked with chicken ham, a fried egg, lettuce, onions and pickles. It’s finished with Thousand Island and herb sauces. A lot is going on here, but that is precisely the appeal. The crispy chicken provides the crunch and juiciness, while the chicken ham adds another layer of savoury flavour. The fried egg brings richness, especially when the yolk mixes with the sauces and chicken. The pickles and onions help cut through the richness, while the tangy Thousand Island sauce adds a familiar fast-food burger element. Go for the thigh if you prefer a juicier, more indulgent bite, or breast if you want something a little leaner.

MomsTouch6
White Garlic Chicken Burger 4.2/5

The White Garlic Chicken Burger ($7.95) is the one to consider if you are a serious garlic lover. Besides the crispy chicken patty, the burger comes with chicken ham, melted cheddar, onions and pickles, all tied together with a thick white garlic sauce. The sauce is creamy and almost mayonnaise-like in texture, but with a much more pronounced sweet and garlicky flavour. It coats the chicken generously and gives every bite a fragrant garlic kick. The cured chicken ham adds a salty, savoury dimension, while melted cheddar contributes extra richness. Thankfully, the fresh onions and tangy pickles add enough sharpness and crunch to keep the burger from getting too heavy. With crispy chicken, salty ham, melted cheese, and creamy garlic sauce, this is one of the more indulgent burgers in the lineup and should appeal strongly to garlic fans.

MomsTouch10
Grilled Beef Burger 3/5

For those who prefer beef over fried chicken, the Grilled Beef Burger ($7.95 single / $10.95 double) takes a more familiar approach. The burger comes with a juicy beef patty, melted cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and dill pickle sauce. Compared to Mom’s Touch’s towering chicken burgers, this feels much more like a classic fast-food cheeseburger. The beef patty brings the savoury foundation, while the melted cheddar adds creaminess. Lettuce and tomato add refreshing crunch and juiciness, while onions and dill pickle sauce add tang. It is straightforward and familiar, and perhaps less exciting than the chicken offerings, but that simplicity also makes it a lighter option. With the fresh vegetables replacing some of the heavier fried components, it is noticeably less rich on the palate.

MomsTouch16
Angus Beef Burger 4.2/5

The Angus Beef Burger ($12.95 single / $17.95 double) is a step up for beef lovers and another Singapore-exclusive creation. Made with Australian Angus beef, the burger comes with a juicy beef patty topped with a fried egg, cheddar, lettuce, onions, pickles, white garlic sauce, and steak sauce. The burger is rich from the beef and melted cheddar to the fried egg and creamy garlic sauce. The pickles and onions provide some much-needed acidity and crunch, while the steak sauce gives the beef a deeper savoury note. Compared to the Grilled Beef Burger, this is considerably more substantial and indulgent. The combination of Angus beef, fried egg and garlic sauce makes it feel more like a loaded burger rather than a simple fast-food cheeseburger.

MomsTouch17
Original Boneless Fried Chicken Thigh 4.2/5

Beyond the burgers, Mom’s Touch’s fried chicken remains one of the main reasons to visit. The Original Boneless Fried Chicken Thigh ($9.95 for 5pc) comes in generous half-sized pieces, battered and fried to order. The result is piping hot chicken with a crisp, golden exterior, while the thigh meat stays tender and juicy inside. The Original version is the most straightforward, allowing the crispy batter and chicken to take centre stage. It comes with Honey Mustard sauce on the side, adding a sweet, tangy contrast to the savoury fried chicken.

MomsTouch11
Soy Garlic Boneless Chicken Thigh 4/5

The Soy Garlic Boneless Chicken Thigh ($11.95 for 5pc) brings a more classic Korean fried chicken character. The crispy chicken pieces are coated in a sweet and deeply savoury soy garlic glaze, with plenty of aromatic garlic coming through. The sauce adds another layer of flavour to the crunchy chicken without completely overpowering the meat. The contrast between the crisp coating and sticky glaze makes this a satisfying choice for those who prefer their Korean fried chicken saucy and flavour-packed.

MomsTouch12
Cheesy Sichuan Boneless Chicken Thigh 3.5/5

For something with a Singapore-friendly kick, the Cheesy Sichuan Boneless Chicken Thigh ($12.95 for 5pc) is the more adventurous option. The fried chicken is coated with a thick, spicy Sichuan sauce and finished with a rich cheese sauce. The cheese mellows the heat while adding a creamy, savoury element to the chicken. Interestingly, the combination leans towards a sweet-and-sour profile, with the spicy sauce providing the heat and tang while the cheese rounds everything out. It is a fun combination and one for those who enjoy a little spice with their fried chicken without wanting the heat to completely dominate the dish.

Mom’s Touch’s return to Singapore comes with a noticeably bigger, more ambitious lineup, especially for fans of its signature chicken burgers and fried chicken. Hand-battering and frying the chicken to order makes a difference, with the chicken arriving hot, crisp, and juicy. Among the burgers, the All-in Chicken Burger and White Garlic Chicken Burger were our favourites, while the Super Thigh Chicken Burger stands out as the Singapore-exclusive creation to try. The fried chicken is also worth ordering, especially the Original if you want to appreciate the crisp batter and juicy thigh meat on its own. With Singapore-exclusive creations, familiar Korean flavours and the added LE SSERAFIM collaboration, Mom’s Touch is clearly returning with more than just nostalgia. Whether you remember the brand from its first run in Singapore or are trying it for the first time, its comeback offers plenty of crispy chicken, oversized burgers and K-inspired flavours to dig into.

Wildseed Café @ Botanic Gardens - Newest Wildseed Café Outlet with Nett Prices and Pet-Friendly Seatings

IMG_8207

Wildseed Café’s newest outlet, the fourth, has opened amidst lush greenery within the beautiful Singapore Botanic Gardens.

IMG_8156

IMG_8154

The menu continues to feature its signature favourites, while introducing outlet-exclusive items with a health and wellness focus, along with thoughtfully curated picnic baskets for guests to bring into the gardens to enjoy. Prices are nett, and the outdoor seating area is pet-friendly.

IMG_8219
Acai Fruit Bowl 3.8/5

The Acai Fruit Bowl ($18) is one of the outlet exclusives, featuring a refreshing acai sorbet base that’s not overly sweet, topped with an assortment of fresh fruits and honey granola.

IMG_8208
Atas Kaya Toast 3.8/5

For a local breakfast fix, there is the Atas Kaya Toast ($11). Soft sourdough is slathered with kaya and butter, paired with grated coconut and a sous vide egg for a slightly elevated twist.

IMG_8195
Eggs Benny Croissant Toast 4/5

The Breakfast menu is available from 8am to 11am on weekdays, and 8am to 3pm on weekends and Public Holidays. We enjoyed the Eggs Benny Croissant Toast ($20), available with smoked salmon or streaky bacon. While our sous vide eggs were a touch overcooked, the toast was crisp and paired well with a creamy, well-seasoned hollandaise sauce.

IMG_8206
Soft Shell Chilli Crab Linguine 4/5

Local flavours retake centre stage in the Soft Shell Chilli Crab Linguine ($28), which was spicier than expected. The sweet-spicy balance was well executed, without leaning overly tomato-heavy like many versions. The dish comes topped with a fried soft shell crab and crab meat tossed through the pasta. It’s best to share this as the flavours can get heavy. Gluten-free spaghetti is available upon request for all pasta dishes.

IMG_8198

IMG_8214
Kelong Prawn & Scallop Pizza 4.2/5

A favourite among my dining companions was the chef-recommended Kelong Prawn & Scallop Pizza ($32). The thin yet chewy crust held together a harmonious mix of savoury-sweet prawns, scallops, mozzarella, pesto and cherry tomatoes.

IMG_8196
Har Cheong Chicken Burger 4/5

While the chicken leg in our Har Cheong Chicken Burger ($32) was slightly over-fried, the marination was spot on, with tender meat beneath the crisp exterior. Sandwiched between sesame brioche buns with an onion ring, kale and Roma tomatoes, it comes with curly fries and a punchy sambal mayonnaise that ties everything together.

IMG_8223

IMG_8224

Cakes are available daily from 8am to 5pm, making desserts an all-day affair. Options include the Black Sesame Petite Cake ($13) and Cocoa Petite Cake ($13).

IMG_8165

The beverage list is extensive, ranging from classic teas and coffees to cocktails, fresh juices, wines and spirits. We opted for mocktails such as the Bird of Paradise ($15), a blend of lychee, cranberry and lime, and the Summer Berries ($15), featuring raspberry, strawberry, blackcurrant and lemon.

The Marmalade Pantry @ Tanjong Pagar - Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Refreshed Menu of Light and Vibrant Flavours

IMG_8832

The Marmalade Pantry is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a refreshed menu across its four outlets in Tanjong Pagar, Novena, ION, and Anchorpoint. The menu introduces lighter and more vibrant flavour profiles, incorporating new dishes and enhancements to its signature items.

IMG_8823

The extensive line-up includes a variety of starters, salads, mains, pasta, risottos, and desserts, as well as an updated beverage selection featuring NON, an Australian non-alcoholic wine alternative.

IMG_8824
Red Velvet Latte 3.5/5

I decided on the Red Velvet Latte ($8) as I was curious about adding fresh beetroot to the dark cocoa drink. While it was a tad sweet for me, I appreciated the subtle earthy notes from the beetroot.

IMG_8825
Fried Brussels Sprouts 4/5

We began our meal with the Fried Brussels Sprouts ($16), which had a delightful Japanese twist. The brussel sprouts are dressed in sesame soy kewpie mayo and topped with pickled chillies, nori strips, and sesame seeds.

IMG_8827
Roasted Smashed Sweet Potatoes 4.2/5

Next up was the Roasted Smashed Sweet Potatoes ($16). A fresh dill and chives, yoghurt dressing, and tangy pickled onions nicely balanced the potatoes' natural sweetness.

IMG_8826
Chicken Salad 4.2/5

Another standout starter for me was the Chicken Salad ($23). This vibrant and healthy dish was a colourful mix of fresh salad vegetables, green apples, cherry tomatoes, cashews, and coriander, all tossed in a tangy Viet-Thai dressing. The sous vide chicken strips were particularly tender and well-seasoned.

IMG_8828
Crispy Barramundi 3.8/5

Moving on to the mains, we tried the Crispy Barramundi ($32). The fish was lightly seasoned and paired with stronger aromatics from the masala potatoes and vegetable chutney.

IMG_8829
Chicken Burger 3.8/5

The Chicken Burger ($28) surprised us with its spicy kick. It featured a crunchy chicken thigh sandwiched between soft potato buns, accompanied by tangy slaw and spicy garlic soy. The burger was served with a side of fries and beet-pickled cauliflower.

IMG_8833
Tomato Risotto 4.2/5

Next, we were served with the Tomato Risotto ($26). The risotto was creamy yet not too heavy, thanks to the addition of stracciatella cheese, cherry tomatoes, and a Thai basil salsa. It was a comforting dish.

IMG_8831
Butternut Mac & Cheese 4.5/5

The unanimous favourite of the meal was the Butternut Mac & Cheese ($26). A signature dish of The Marmalade Pantry has been refined in the new menu with a rich truffle cream and blue cheese base, enhanced by sweet roasted butternut squash and a black vinegar glaze. This dish is a wholesome, decadent, and balanced cheese lover's dream.

IMG_8836
Miso Sesame Cupcake 3.8/5

We tried the Miso Sesame Cupcake ($6.50), a new addition to the brand's cupcake range for dessert. The savoury-sweet frosting had a nutty flavour with hints of peanut butter, complementing the moist cake base.

IMG_8835
Green Tea Basque 3/5

Lastly, we ended with a slice of Green Tea Basque ($15). This double-layered baked cheesecake had a top layer of white chocolate and green tea, which balanced the richness of the cheese. However, I found it too sweet for my liking.

The Marmalade Pantry's 25th-anniversary menu refresh has something to offer for everyone, whether you're a fan of their classic dishes or eager to try something new.

Wildfire Burgers @ Robertson Walk - Gourmet Burgers at Affordable Prices

WildfireBurger21

Wildfire Burgers, located in the heart of Robertson Walk, has emerged from a revamp with a brand new menu that not only elevates the dining experience but also reinforces its status as a go-to destination for gourmet burgers, succulent steaks, enticing sides, and a diverse drinks menu. With the closure of its other outlets, the Robertson Walk flagship stands as a beacon for those seeking a delicious yet affordable gourmet burger.

WildfireBurger1
Wedge Salad 3.5/5

Kicking off our dinner, we delved into the Wedge Salad ($13), a refreshing ensemble of iceberg lettuce dressed in creamy parmesan sauce. Topped with crispy bacon, cherry tomatoes, Spanish onions, crumbled blue cheese, walnuts, and crushed Kampot peppercorn, it's a firework of flavours that complement the crunch of the iceberg lettuce. The marriage of textures and tastes offers a delightful start to the meal.

WildfireBurger6
Salt & Vinegar Fried Onion Rings 3/5

The Salt & Vinegar Fried Onion Rings ($8) aimed to reinvent the classic, infusing extra saltiness and tanginess. While the intention was commendable, it fell slightly short of expectations. Thicker onion rings might enhance the sweetness of the onion, aligning better with taste preferences.

WildfireBurger8
Golden Chicken Nuggets 4.2/5

The Golden Chicken Nuggets ($8 for 6pc/ $10 for 9pc) emerged as a clear favourite. A classic elevated to gourmet heights, these nuggets, made with 100% chicken, were served with a delightful array of sauces: Japanese Curry Mayo, Nacho Cheese, or Chipotle Mayo. The pairing with Japanese Curry Mayo is particularly recommended, surpassing expectations and outshining similar offerings from an 'M' brand restaurant.

WildfireBurger16
Truffled Mushroom 4.8/5

The Truffled Mushroom ($18 Single/ $22 Double) stood out among the eight gourmet burgers. Nestled between butter-toasted brioche buns, the stone axe wagyu patties delivered a burst of flavour. Truffled mayonnaise, sautéed mushrooms, Monterey Jack cheese, beer-pickled onions, and master sauce formed a symphony of taste. The judicious preparation of the wagyu patty, allowing for a chunky bite, added to the allure.

WildfireBurger10
Hot Honey Butter Chicken 4/5

For those eschewing beef, alternative options like Ottoman Lamb, Black Halibut, and Hot Honey Butter Chicken burgers await. The Hot Honey Butter Chicken ($18 Single) presents a generously sized, hot and spicy fried chicken thigh adorned with whipped Sriracha honey butter and crispy bacon. Sandwiched between butter-toasted brioche buns and drizzled with master sauce, it provides a spicy symphony for the taste buds, delivering crunch and flavour in every bite.

Wildfire Burgers at Robertson Walk has not just reopened; it has rekindled a flame, offering a gourmet burger experience at affordable pricing that tantalizes the senses and sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.

CARNE @ Amoy Street - Burger Joint By Three Michelin Star Chef Mauro Colagreco

Carne23

CARNE, making its first international debut in Singapore, is brought to you by Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco whose restaurant Mirazur in France has a three Michelin star and is the number one restaurant on World's 50 Best Restaurants. With five stores in Argentina, the burger chain's concept believes in sustainable gastronomy, ensuring quality and sustainable production in every ingredient for the burgers. Carne is also the first burger chain to become a Certified B Corporation, a triple impact certification (social, environmental and economic) for business committed to doing better for the world.

Carne15
Classic Burger 3.5/5

We started with the Classic Burger ($19.50) in a buttery bun, sandwiched with a tightly compact natural grass-fed beef patty, local oak lettuce, organic tomato and organic red onion. Diners can choose to complete their meal with fries and mineral water or soft drink for an additional $10 to make it a combo meal.

Carne12
Beef and Chimichurri Burger 3.5/5

Carne debuts the Beef and Chimichurri Burger ($24) and Crispy Chicken Burger ($18) specially created for Singapore for its new opening. The Beef and Chimichurri Burger comes with their signature natural grass-fed beef patty and butter bun. It is paired with murcian cheese, jalapeno, organic red onion and local arugula dressed in chimichurri sauce for the taste of Argentinian roots.

Carne25
Crispy Chicken Burger

The Crispy Chicken Burger uses locally-sourced, GMO-free poussin chicken thigh with fresh green cabbage, chilli pickled organic cucumber, and organic greek yogurt dressing.

Carne19
Triple Cooked Agria Fries 4.5/5

One of the crowd's favourite is the Triple Cooked Agria Fries ($8.90). Thickly cut into the size of wedges; it is crispy on the outside and fluffy inside.

Carne5
Veggie Burger 4/5

Surprisingly, of the four burgers I tried, my favourite is the Veggie Burger ($16). Unlike the other burger's bun, it is flavoured with turmeric hence the yellow colour. There are grilled portobello, local oak lettuce, tomato tapenade, and charred halloumi cheese between the buns.

Carne4

Having tried the burgers, I am not sure whether the burger joint will win over the Singaporean's tummy. The burgers are pretty pricey, and I am not sure whether the locals will enjoy the beef patty style. I prefer those that are more loose, minced and airy.

Chir Chicken Croffle 4.2/5

Available for Brunch and Dinner, the Chir Chicken Croffle ($17.50) features succulent deep-fried chicken thigh and fluffy golden-brown croffles. Drizzle some homemade maple butter syrup, and it makes for a scrumptious sweet-and-savoury pairing.

TheChirCafe9

The Fondue Chicken Burger ($15.50) comes with a juicy slab of fried chicken thigh, grilled pineapple, onion marmalade and fresh rocket, sandwiched between toasted burger buns. The Fondue Chicken Burger is available for Brunch and Dinner.

TheChirCafe6

On top of the standard lattes and cappuccinos, customers can also find unconventional concoctions, such as the Sea Salt Caramel Latte ($6.50 for iced). Craft beers and soju are also available by the bottle, while house pour red and white wines can be purchased by the glass ($15) or bottle ($70). We had the Summer Cooler ($16), a refreshing cocktail with sweet fruity notes from the green grape soju, perfect for unwinding over the rich, hearty dishes.
