Hock Lam Beef Noodles @ Upper Serangoon Road

Beef noodle basically has two versions, dry and soup. I used to love the dry version when I was in my teens but now I prefer the soup version. Hock Lam Beef Noodles which started selling the noodle on foot in Chinatown for years, opened its first stall at Hock Lam Street in 1911. It has a 100 years of history behind it and will be celebrating its 100th anniversary this month.

Beef Noodle Soup 4.2/5

The sliced beef at Hock Lam is hand sliced which retains its natural tender without the use of tenderiser or MSG. The sliced beef was cooked by the hot steaming broth when served. The broth was also light and flavorful. Hock Lam Beef Noodle definitely live up to their reputation but I still find it a bit pricey for a bowl of beef noodle.
