Mr Chicken Rice @ E!Hub Downtown East

Mr Chicken Rice is opened by the retrenched chef from Chatterbox at the Mandarin hotel. A big newspaper cutting of the chef  is displayed in the restaurant. It is self serving here. You placed your order with the cashier (the chef in the newspaper cutting), paid and collected your order. I ordered the 2 person combo meal that came with chicken, a selection of one the side dishes (vegetable in oyster sauce, bean sprouts or signature fried tofu) and two bowls of soup.

Being branded as the Chatterbox chicken rice, I was a bit disappointed as I find that the chicken was quite normal. I have eaten better ones eleswhere. The rice had a rich chicken and ginger flavour but the rice was too hard for my liking. Don't get me wrong, the chicken rice was good but maybe I was disappointed by my high expectation.

Chicken Rice 3.8/5

Vegetable in Oyster Sauce 4/5

To get here, align at Pasir Ris MRT station. Walk to the bus interchange and take bus number 3, 5, 6, 12, 17, 21, 354 or 358. Downtown East is one bus stop away.

  2. forget about this stall! the attitude of the staff is hopeless. It was my first time ordering their food, hence unfamilair with it, and the fat lady was so impatient asking me to "decide properly" before telling her and show me kind of unhappy face!!! WTF, there's no one else behind me, it is not as if there a long queue and that I am jamming the queue! I was so annoyed that i left without ordering. Want me to pay money yet have to see her face.. NO WAY!!
