Clementi Hong Kee Villa at Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre owns two stalls at the food eentre selling chicken rice and noodle dishes. The two stalls are located back to back with the chicken rice stall facing the front while the noodles stall faces the back. Today we are visiting the noodles stall, Hong Kee Satay Bee Hoon which sells a number of noodle dishes.

Besides the satay bee hoon, the stall sells other dishes such as Prawn Noodle, Steamed Chicken Laksa, Laksa and Cuttlefish Kang Kong. I had the Laksa ($3/$4) which comes with fish cakes, cockles, tau
The mildly spiced coconut broth goes very well with the thick bee hoon that has a nice bite to it. I like the tau pok here, it's not those crispy and airy type. It is those puffy type that has a good texture bite to it. It is even more delicious with it soaking up the delicious laksa broth. The laksa broth was also not too rich and oily, which I finished up to the last drop.
Overall I have enjoyed the bowl of laksa at Hong Kee Satay Bee Hoon. It has a nostalgic taste that reminds me of my childhood. This is a bowl of old school laksa that is worth the calories. I should visit the stall again to try their satay bee hoon.
