Cai Ge Zhi Jia Tonic House (财哥之家燉品) @ People's Park Complex Food Centre

I walked over to the nearby People's Park Complex Food Centre for dinner after going down to Chinatown to exchange some Australia currency for my trip. Anyway, I just want to get a quick meal so I headed for the stall near to my seat. Actually I want to try this stall for a while for its comfort food. Besides the Watercress Pork Rib Soup, I ordered the Steamed Meat Patty with Salted Fish and Braised Sweet Soy Chicken Wings. It also has a nostalgic feel with the the use of metal plates.


The Steamed Meat Patty with Salted Fish, a simple dish of steamed minced pork and salted fish was nicely and evenly cooked. It was not too salty and went very well with the rice.

The Braised Sweet Soy Chicken Wings was excellent. The chicken wings were fat and delicious, well braised with the sweet soy.

Meng Kitchen (日夜小厨) @ Upper Thomson Road

If you are a Bak Chor Mee lover, there is Meng Kitchen that can satisfy your craving 24 hours 7 days a week at Upper Thomson Road. The noodles were springy and well mixed with  a good balance of vinegar and chilli. They are also generous with their ingredient which has meatball, sliced and minced pork, liver and mushroom.
