Yum Cha @ Chinatown

A lot of us may have visited Yum Cha Restaurant for its Dim Sum. Even the name itself Yum Cha which meant tea drinking in Cantonese suggested that this is a Dim Sum place. Don't be mislead by the name. The restaurant offers a good variety of cooked dishes too.

I like to have the best of both world hence I ended up ordering a mix of Dim Sum and cooked dishes. I enjoyed all the dishes except for the shark fin dumpling soup which I found it quite bland. I have to add quite a few spoonful of vinegar to enhance the taste.

Lai Heng Fried Kway Teow @ Compass Point Mall

When I started blogging about 9 months back, I was told that there was a good Fried Kway Teow stall at Sengkang Compass Point Shopping Mall Kopitiam foodcourt. Although I stay in Hougang which is like 2 train stations away from the mall, I have never eaten at the foodcourt.

Once you are at the stall seeing the uncle frying the Fried Kway Teow in the hot sizzling wok, you know you are in for a treat. The Fried Kway Teow is the wet type with a lot of the dark soya sauce. The portion of the kway teow and mee was about 50-50. Indeed the Fried Kway Teow was pretty good. I enjoyed the sweetness of the dark soya sauce and the moistness of the noodles.
