This Lunar New Year, LUCE invites diners to gather around a table defined by abundance, craftsmanship and festive cheer. For its Season of Abundance buffet, the Italian restaurant blends the warmth of Italian conviviality with familiar Lunar New Year flavours, resulting in a spread that feels celebratory yet comforting, with plenty to explore across Western and Asian offerings.

No Lunar New Year meal feels complete without Yu Sheng, and LUCE’s D.I.Y Yu Sheng station sets the tone nicely. What I really appreciated was the option to make smaller portions, so you can enjoy the ritual without sacrificing precious stomach space for the rest of the buffet. Even better, you’re free to add as many fish as you like, which is always a win in my books.

The Seafood and Sashimi spread is a clear highlight, featuring Japanese oysters, mini abalone, jade salmon and ahi tuna sashimi. Everything looked fresh and inviting, making it dangerously easy to over-serve yourself early in the meal, which is a familiar buffet dilemma.

We couldn’t take our eyes off the Salad Bar, where diners can customise their own bowls using the Harvest of the Day selection, featuring fresh greens, generous add-ons, and a wide variety of dressings. The adjacent Artisanal Cheese and Cold Cuts section is equally tempting, showcasing a weekly selection of Italian and French cheeses alongside the chef’s curated imported cold cuts, best enjoyed with freshly baked bread.

One of the most crowd-pleasing stations is the make-your-own Signature Frasers House Prawn Noodle. Ingredients include tiger prawns, fish cake, bean sprouts, quail eggs and noodles, all finished in a rich prawn broth. If you’re in the mood for pasta, the chef also prepares Pasta with Salmon Vodka Cream Sauce tossed in a Parmesan wheel. The pasta was perfectly al dente — so good I genuinely wished I had more stomach space for a second portion.

The Italian Hot Dishes are a carb lover’s dream. From LUCE Pizza to Melanzane alla Parmigiana, Pasta alla Norma, Purè di Patate al Tartufo and Sicilian-style Branzino, the selection is generous and varied. Sadly, I could only manage small bites of each, but most dishes were well executed and satisfying, making it hard to pick favourites.

Another standout is the buffet-exclusive Salted Egg Pizza, specially created for this Lunar New Year spread. Topped with roasted chicken and melted mozzarella, the pizza strikes a surprisingly balanced flavour profile that is lightly sweet, savoury and rich without being overwhelming. The salted egg sauce adds a creamy depth, while the fragrant curry leaves lift the whole dish, giving it an unmistakable Southeast Asian twist. It’s indulgent yet approachable, and easily one of those slices you go back for “just one more” even when you’re already full.

At the Carving station, the Roman-style Roasted Pork Knuckle stood out with its irresistibly crispy skin. At the same time, the Roasted Australian Beef Ribeye was juicy and tender - exactly what you’d hope for from a carving station at a festive buffet.

The Asian Delights section brings a comforting familiarity to the spread, featuring Netted Seafood Spring Rolls, Nonya Chicken Curry, Five-Spice Slow-Braised Pork Trotter, and Lotus-Leaf Wrapped Glutinous Rice. A dish that stood out quietly was the XO Tiger Prawn with Scallop Sauce, served with broccoli and mushrooms - a well-balanced Cantonese-style dish where the prawns were sweet and plump and the XO scallop sauce added a savoury depth without overpowering the vegetables.

We were told these dishes are prepared by the team from Man Fu Yuan, the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, and it shows. Some dishes tasted reassuringly homely, while others surprised us with flavour profiles that were pleasantly unexpected in a good way.

The Desserts section is fully dressed in Lunar New Year colours and symbolism. Highlights include the Eight Treasure Almond Fruit Cake, LUCE-misu, Lucky Gold Bar Chocolate Cake and Earl Grey Lavender Cake. The Gelato selection is also worth saving space for; my personal favourites were the Mango and Matcha.

Desserts Station

Overall, LUCE’s Season of Abundance buffet strikes a nice balance between festive indulgence and variety. Whether you’re drawn to Italian classics, comforting Asian dishes or seafood and desserts, there’s something here for every diner, making it a solid option for Lunar New Year gatherings with family and friends.

Im Jai by Pun Im @ Icon Village - Debuts Lunar New Year 2026 Menu with a Thai Twist

Im Jai by Pun Im at Icon Village ushers in Lunar New Year 2026 with its inaugural festive menu, reimagining classic Chinese New Year staples through a distinctly Thai lens. Known for its bold Thai flavours and creative reinterpretations, Im Jai presents a refreshing celebration that marries auspicious symbolism with vibrant Thai ingredients and techniques.

Charoen “Prosperous” Yu Sheng 4.2/5

Replacing the customary shredded vegetables, Im Jai’s Yu Sheng takes inspiration from Thai salads. The Im Jai Charoen Yu Sheng (Serves 3–5, $58) features premium salmon belly slices atop a colourful medley of green papaya, green mango, pomelo, mandarin oranges, and cherry tomatoes. Tossed in a signature Som Tum–style spicy-sour sauce blended with sweetened fish sauce, the dish is finished with toasted coconut, fried shallots, ground dried shrimp, and pumpkin seeds. The result is a uniquely Thai Yu Sheng that delivers a harmonious balance of sweet, sour, savoury, and spicy flavours, complemented by engaging textures. For larger gatherings, the Im Jai Grand Charoen Yu Sheng (Serves 6–8, $98) is also available.

Im Jai offers a playful spin on the traditional Thai omelette with the Crispy Cloud Egg ($16.80). Kampong egg whites are deep-fried until ultra-fluffy and paired with six pieces of five-hour house-cured sweet-savoury egg yolks. Served with lime, raw shallots, and chilli padi, the dish is impressively crisp and airy. While the cloud-like texture will appeal to many, it leaned a little too light for my personal preference. I found myself missing a more substantial bite.

The Fried Squid Tentacles with Im Jai Curry Mayonnaise ($10.80) features lightly battered squid tentacles fried to a crisp. What truly elevates the dish is the housemade curry mayonnaise, seasoned with Im Jai’s proprietary blend of Thai curry powder. This addictive combination kept me going back for more, making it a highly enjoyable snack or sharing dish.

Available for both dine-in and takeaway, the Fortune Crispy Spring Rolls ($23.80) are filled with a medley of vegetables and mushrooms. Encased in a golden, crispy skin, the filling is flavourful and provides a pleasing contrast in texture, resulting in a multi-textural bite that works well as a festive starter.

A whole fish is a must-have on any Chinese New Year table, and Im Jai puts a Thai spin on this tradition with the prized Marble Goby (Soon Hock). The Golden Crispy Soon Hock & Thai Mango Salad ($108, about 1.2kg) is expertly butterflied and deep-fried head-on, with the scales left on, resulting in delicate, crispy, edible scales while keeping the flesh succulent and moist. The fish is paired with a spicy, sweet, and zesty Thai green mango salad, creating an elegant balance of flavour and texture. This is a tasting portion of the whole fish. Diners may also opt for the Steamed Soon Hock with Thai Mango Salad ($108, about 1.2kg).

The Im Jai Golden Harvest Seafood Claypot Rice ($110.80) is a luxurious festive staple featuring wild-caught jumbo black tiger prawns, diced hotate scallops, deep-fried soft shell crab, and deep-fried pork lard. Rich, indulgent, and aromatic, it is a satisfying communal dish well-suited for celebrations.

For dessert, the Black Sticky Rice Nian Gao ($21.80) truly stands out. Im Jai’s signature pancake is transformed into a festive Nian Gao using house-milled black sticky rice flour and strips of coconut flesh. Crisp on the outside yet chewy and fragrant within, this dessert is exceptionally good and easily one of the highlights of the meal.

The Sweet Coconut Reunion Tang Yuan (Serves 4–6, $30.80) is based on the traditional Bualoy dessert from Im Jai’s regular menu. It features auspicious red and yellow glutinous rice balls with coconut strips in sweetened coconut milk, finished with a salted egg lava cream. The sweet-savoury interplay reflects the hallmark flavours of Thai desserts.

IM SABAAI’s Signature Abundance Pork Floss

To complete the festivities, Im Jai also offers IM SABAAI’s Signature Abundance Pork Floss ($98), the first of its kind manufactured in Singapore. Presented in an elegant gift box of four bottles adorned with a Fire Horse design and a poetic Chinese couplet, it is available in both Original and Spicy flavours—making it a thoughtful and auspicious Lunar New Year gift.

Back at Pulsii French Bistro, helmed by Chef Daisuke Yoshikawa, we were introduced to its refreshed menu that continues to reflect refined French techniques with comforting, well-balanced flavours.

We began with the Duck Confit Croquettes ($4/pc), deep-fried to a beautiful golden brown. Breaking into the crisp exterior reveals a savoury, flavour-packed centre that delivers an immediate burst of richness. The addition of purple cabbage is a thoughtful touch, providing a refreshing contrast that nicely balances the robust duck flavours.

Another delightful starter is the Fromage de Tete Spring Rolls ($14). Encased in a crisp skin, the filling consists of slow-braised pork ragout made from four different cuts, resulting in layers of texture and depth. For mains, we had the Grilled Japanese Cod ($55). The fish is wonderfully fatty and buttery, cooked just right to retain its moist texture. It is complemented by a fragrant clam saffron sauce, with fresh tomato and fennel adding brightness and balance to the dish.

Overall, Pulsii French Bistro’s new menu showcases Chef Daisuke Yoshikawa’s thoughtful approach to French bistro fare, where comforting flavours meet refined execution. From well-crafted starters to satisfying mains, the dishes strike a balance between indulgence and finesse, making Pulsii a pleasant choice for both casual dining and special occasions. With its polished yet approachable offerings, Pulsii remains a spot worth revisiting for diners seeking modern French cuisine with depth and character.
