Peppermint @ PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay - Invites You to A Joyous Christmas Celebration
Step into a world of festive indulgence at Peppermint, where the charm of Christmas meets culinary excellence. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a vibrant farm-to-table salad bar featuring produce harvested from Peppermint's very own urban farm — an eco-conscious touch that set the tone for the meal.
The Seafood-On-Ice spread showcases Tiger Prawns, Clams, Mussels, Scallops and Crawfish, sure to satisfy your bellies. The Japanese section is delighted with fresh chef-sliced Sashimi including Salmon, Tuna, and Tako, alongside a colourful selection of Sushi and Maki. A rare highlight was the Seasoned Jellyfish, an exquisite find that added a unique twist to the buffet. For noodle lovers, a DIY station offers Udon and Soba with an array of condiments to help you create your perfect bowl.
The Festive Carving Station was a showstopper featuring a sumptuous array of holiday classics, such as Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing, Honey Baked Chicken Ham, and Roast Beef.
A decadent Brie Cheese Dip served inside a roasted Pumpkin, paired beautifully with Ham and Cheese Rolls, added a creative flair to the spread.
Diners seeking bold flavours will be satisfied with the rich variety of Indian dishes. A standout was the Crispy Prata Puff, which was perfectly golden and sized to complement the fragrant curries and creamy Butter Chicken.
Meanwhile, the Southeast Asian section shone with its diverse offerings, from Dry Laksa and Prawns in Collagen Broth to JB-style Curry Fish Collar with Urban Farm Eggplant. Live stations feature made-to-order Chicken Rice and Seafood Noodle Soup. We do find the chicken rice lacking in fragrance; go for the noodle soup, which is light on the palette but rich in flavour.
To satisfy our other (dessert) stomach, the dessert spread featured an enticing mix of Nonya Kueh, Christmas-themed Yule Logs, crafted cakes, petite pastries, and verrines. Ice cream lovers could indulge in four refreshing flavours, with the Mint Cucumber Sorbet emerging as our surprising favourite. This refreshing sorbet was the perfect finale to a heavy meal.
Peppermint's festive décor, adorned with elegant Christmas-themed embellishments, creates a magical atmosphere ideal for celebrating the season. Peppermint is also Halal certified. Given the popularity of the buffet, reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot.

Tilly's @ Keong Saik Road - Bringing Authentic Irish Gastro Pub Experience to Singapore
Irish Chef Andrew Walsh, known for his Michelin-starred restaurant CURE, introduces an authentic Irish gastro pub experience to Singapore with the newly opened Tilly's. Formerly located in East Coast, Tilly's has found its new home at Keong Saik, taking over Butcher Boy Bar & Grill. The revamped Tilly's presents a refreshed menu of signature Irish gastro pub fare and Chef Andrew's favourite comfort food, inspired by his roots and home kitchen.
Natural Irish Oysters with Black Vinegar Mignonette 4/5
Natural Irish Oysters with Kilpatrick Sauce 4.2/5
We kicked off our meal at Tilly's with the Natural Irish Oysters, paired with Black Vinegar Mignonette ($3/pc) and Kilpatrick Sauce ($4/pc). Sourced from Chef Andrew's hometown of Achill Island, County Mayo, these oysters deliver a fresh taste of the sea. The Black Vinegar Mignonette provides a tangy twist, while the Kilpatrick Sauce offers a classic Irish blend of barbecue, tomato, and tabasco.
Irish Oyster Omelette 4/5
An innovative take on the local oyster omelette, the Irish Oyster Omelette features fresh oysters topped with tarragon, avruga caviar, and a medley of chives, apple, and celery remoulade torched to perfection.
Irish Soda Bread 3.5/5
The traditional Irish Soda Bread ($14) makes an appearance, accompanied by a spread of grilled cheddar cheese rarebit and mustard, imparting a delightful smoky flavour.
Beetroot Cured Salmon with Potato Flat Bread 3.8/5
The Beetroot Cured Salmon ($26) showcases plump Irish salmon, delicately cured in beetroot and accompanied by apple celeriac remoulade. Served alongside potato flatbread, diners can enjoy it as an open-faced sandwich by placing the beetroot-cured salmon on it, creating a harmonious blend of flavours and textures.
Wagyu Beef Cheek & Guinness Pot Pie 4.2/5
Colcannon Mash
Elevating the classic pot pie, the Wagyu Beef Cheek & Guinness Pot Pie ($36) features tender wagyu cooked in Guinness beer paired with creamy Colcannon Mash — a comforting Irish staple.
Tilly's Wagyu Burger 4/5
A highlight not to be missed is Tilly's Wagyu Burger ($32), which boasts a juicy wagyu patty topped with Irish cheddar cheese and bacon and served with crispy fries. Throughout March 2024, enjoy the burger at half price in celebration of St. Patrick's Day.

Indulge in the Signature Sticky Toffee Pudding ($16) for a sweet conclusion, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Opt for the Grilled Tipperary Brie Cheese ($18) paired with apricot jam, truffle honey, and crackers for a delightful mix of sweet and savoury.

Lobby Lounge @ Conrad Centennial Singapore - The Return of the Strawberry Afternoon Tea Featuring Amaou Strawberries
As January heralds in the peak season of Amaou Strawberries of Fukuoka, Conrad Centennial Singapore's Lobby Lounge has recently relaunched its exclusive Strawberry Afternoon Tea. Also known as the "King of Japanese Strawberries," delight in Amaou's sweetness from now till 31 March 2024. The specially curated menu features fresh Amaou Strawberries sourced from Fukuoka, farmed under stringent guidelines to preserve their exceptional flavour and deep red hue appearance, and includes exquisitely crafted strawberry-centric delights for a complete Amaou experience.
Start your afternoon tea with Air Flown Japanese Strawberry with Valrhona Chocolate Dip while the chocolate is still warm. The classic pairing of chocolate and strawberries will create a perfect prelude to a relaxing afternoon. The Amaou strawberries, given their exceptional flavour, are just as indulgent on their own.
Whipped Brie
Fresh Strawberry Balsamic Bruschetta
The savoury items were delectable, with a well-considered blending of savoury ingredients and the sweet, fruity, fresh profile of strawberries. My favourite items were the Fresh Strawberry Balsamic Bruschetta and Whipped Brie. The bruschetta was layered with Citrus Cream Cheese, topped with sliced strawberries and seared duck, and sweetened with Cantaloupe Gel. The latter, featuring whipped brie, was topped with Balsamic Strawberry, Fruit Chutney, and Kiwis. The contrasting flavour notes and creamy mouthfeel amped up the lusciousness of the strawberries.
Strawberry, Mango, Scallop Tart
Strawberry, Mango, Scallop Tart was interesting with saltish Pickles and sweet Candied Orange. Again, the juxtaposition of the sweet and savoury notes of the ingredients was delicious, and in addition to that, this dainty pink tart was packed with textural crunch as well. The strawberry tart itself emanated a delightful whiff of strawberry aroma each time I took a bite of the tart.
Salmon Rillettes
Besides strawberries, Salmon Rillettes also highlights the use of Sustainable Caviar - Avruga caviar, distinguished by the Marine Stewardship Council's "Chain of Custody" certification.
Strawberry Meringata
Moving on to the sweets, the Strawberry Meringata was well-received by diners. A balance of creamy, fruity freshness and crunchy elements was put together using decadent double vanilla cream and tangy marinated strawberry spiked with crisped slow-baked Meringue.
Strawberry Shortcake
Strawberry Shortcake is a classic done right with softy and fluffy sponge cakes layered with Fresh Strawberries and Hokkaido Whipping Cream.
Strawberry Mint
Strawberry Mint was gorgeous in a bright red hue - this strawberry treat was filled with Fresh Strawberry Mint Compote encased within a layer of Vanilla Whip.
Tahitian Vanilla Whip
Tahitian Vanilla Whip, Strawberry Compôte is pretty with Strawberry Marmalade, Vanilla Ganache. Its sweetness was a bit too much for me.
Scones
Homemade Strawberry Scone and Raisin Scone didn't disappoint. It wasn't too buttery, with just a hint of sweetness. Hence, the accompanying clotted cream and Homemade Wild Strawberry Jam were the ideal spread for them.
The Strawberry Afternoon Tea is served at Lobby Lounge daily from 8 January 2024 to 31 March 2024 in two seating: from 1 pm to 3 pm and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, priced at $50++ per person on weekdays and $52++ per person on weekends, inclusive of a two-hour free flow of tea and coffee, with an option to include 2 hours of unlimited Prosecco at $28++.
