Yet another big ramen chain in Japan has expanded oversea  to our shore in Singapore. Within a short span of 6 months, Ramen Kagetsu Arashi ranked third in Japan for popularity has already opened 3 outlets in Singapore.

Ginjiro Ramen 4.2/5

With the opening of the new outlets in Singapore, Ramen Kagetsu Arashi is introducing the Ginjiro Ramen ($13.90) which is already a hit in Japan and Taiwan. The first noticeable different of Kagetsu Ramen is the used of hard boiled egg instead soft boiled egg. The broth was simmered for long hours to extract the sweetness from the pork bones before adding dried bonito, kelp and several other ingredients to create a harmonious blend.

Acknowledging that patrons have their own preference and to enhance individual's experience and enjoyment, patrons can customise and give the flavours a lift by adding one of the four add-ons with the freshly crushed garlic, special in house seasoned chives, specially imported black pepper and soy sauce made from Kagetsu Ramen's secret recipe passed down from generation to generation. My favourite was the black pepper.

Arashi Genkotsu Ramen 4.2/5

If you prefer something spicy, Arashi Genkotsu Ramen ($14.90) will be for you. It is the number one favourite in Kagetsu Ramen outlets in Japan. The broth first hit the palate with its rich natural sweetness before a tsunami of spiciness lands on the palate giving it a lingering sensation.

Gyoza 3/5

The Gyoza ($6) is made from the skin specially imported from Japan. The skin has a chewy texture which may be interpreted as a bit too doughy. Filling was lackluster as I could hardly tasted the pork filling inside.

Itameshi Dry Curry Rice 4/5

A brand new offering at Kagetsu Ramen is the Itameshi Dry Curry Rice ($12.90). Served sizzling hot, a special sauce is poured into the rice and given a good mix coating each grain with the blend of spicies, egg, butter and special sauce. A very delectable plate of rice what comes with a crispy texture and smoky aroma.
