GelatiAmo @ Connexis Tower, Fusionpolis - Authentic Italian Gelato By Chef Loris Massimini Of Ristorante Pietrasanta

GelatiAmo is a new gelato cafe brought to you by Chef Loris of Ristorante Pietrasanta. Each day, the gelato is churned in a special combi gelato machine from Italy. GelatiAmo's gelato is made without any shortcuts that compromise its integrity, using time-honed techniques and quality ingredients to produce the ideal gelato texture.

Instead of trendy flavours, GelatiAmo focuses on timeless, classic flavours done right. On top of that, it will also introduce store speciality that can't find elsewhere in Singapore. Each scoop is priced at $4.20, while double scoop at $7.80 with an extra $0.80 charge per scoop for premium flavours. An additional $1 for the cone instead of the cup.

Classic flavours include Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Chocolate (made with 76% cacao), Earl Grey, Coconut with Choco Chip, Yogurt Strawberry, Ferrero Rocher, Pistachio and Melted Butter Coffee.

The store speciality comprises the Burrata Balsamico, inspired by the popular cheesecake at Ristorante Pietrasanta. It uses the same 12 Year Old Giuseppe Giusti Balsamic Vinegar for the gelato flavour. In addition, customers can look forward to seasonal rotation such as Champagne Grapefruit, Almond and Turmeric, and Grapefruit sorbet.

Besides having the gelato on its own, customers can choose to serve in Brioche, Square Cinnamon-coated Doughnuts and Waffle.

Sticky Wings @ Westgate - Brand New Fried Chicken Concept Inspired By Southeast Asia Flavours

A new F&B concept selling fried chicken with Southeast Asia inspired flavours have replaced 4 Fingers at Westgate. The new fried chicken restaurant, Sticky Wings is a self service restaurant with 68 seats featuring light wood furnishing with vibrant pops of neon pink, blue, yellow and green.

Spicy Flamin Fried Chicken 4/5, Sticky Kecap Manis Fried Chicken 3.8/5

The fried chicken here comes in 4 different sets consists of different chicken parts combination, namely Black Belt ($8.50), Knockout ($8.50), Drumchucks ($8.50) and Level Up ($28).

Black Belt ($8.50) - 1 drumstick + 3 two-joint wings
Knockout ($8.50) - 6 two-joint wings
Drumchucks ($8.50) - 2 drumsticks
Level Up ($28) - 4 drumsticks, 8 two-joint wings

Diners can also choose between the fiery Spicy Flamin which is concocted with a secret blend of chillis or the sweet Sticky Kecap Manis. I have to warn you the spicy flamin fried chicken is really very spicy, not for the faint of heart. For those preferred to have the fried chicken without any sauce, you can opt for the Naked which comes without sauce.

Tat's Egg=citing 3/5

For the sides, we tried the Tat's Egg-citing ($5.90) and We Meet Again ($6.50). Tat's Egg-citing is actually straight cut fries dressed in an addictive salted egg yolk sauce, nacho cheese and topped with tomato salsa.The fries has a nice thickness giving it a good bite to it. The salted egg yolk sauce blend has a tad of spiciness with a hint of curry leaves aroma. However I thought the tomato salsa was a bit out of place.

We Meet Again 3.5/5

For the We Meet Again, the straight cut fries are crowned with slow-cooked minced beef rendang. The rempah is actually quite shiok. I even joking suggest to have the butter rice with the rendang sauce.

Cluckin' Good 4/5

Besides the fried chicken, Sticky Wings also offers burger on the menu. Instead of the usual bun, the burger is sandwiched in between two malasade (Portuguese doughnuts). We tried the Cluckin' Good ($7.90 each/ $10.40 combo) which comes with a juicy chicken thigh fillet marinated with aromatic lemongrass. The combination of the savoury fillings with the sugar dusted malasade works for me.

Let you in into something different and special at Sticky Wings. On weekdays, the restaurant offers local breakfast options such as bee hoon and nasi lemak with chicken wing, fish fillets and chicken cutlet. On weekends, diners will get to have pancakes and chicken sausage patties.

Krispy Kreme @ Tangs Orchard

Singaporeans who have been bringing boxes of these sweet delights from Indonesia and Hong Kong , Malaysia and Thailand can rejoice that the popular Krispy Kreme doughnuts is coming to Singapore finally. I have heard that the franchise fee is very expensive that is why no one has brought the brand to our shore until now. Thanks to the Star 360 Group, we finally can sink our teeth into these sweet delights without the need to fly miles for them.

 Leading to the grand opening on the flagship Krispy Kreme 1200 square foot sit in cafe at Tang Orchard Basement 1 on 12 Oct 2013, Krispy Kreme has been spreading smiles all over Singapore in the past weeks with deliveries to schools and offices that nominated on Krispy Kreme website for its 100,000 doughnuts surprises.

I am very thankful to the folks at Krispy Kreme for suprising me at the doorstep with 2 dozen of the signature Original Glazed Doughnuts. My family definitely have a sugar rush for our weekend. We simply cannot resist having these sweet rings for our breakfast.

The flagship store at Tangs Orchard will offer the Original Glazed with another 15 favourite flavours such as the Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, New York Cheesecake and Red Velvet. For those that is eager to get their hands on the sweet treats, do note that Krispy Kreme is giving away up to a year's supply of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to the firsts in line for the grand opening via a Golden, Silver and Bronze ticket. Its understand that there are also games and fabulous prizes to be won as you stand in line and countdown to the grand opening.
