No. 18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow @ Zion Riverside Food Centre

IMG_8061ed

My job requires me to travel quite often and I always craved for our local food whenever I am back home. So I would usually head down to the nearest food centre or coffeeshop to satisfy my craving. One of my favourite local food is the Fried Kway Teow or Char Kway Teow.

For a simple plate of Fried Kway Teow, there are many version. In short there is the Penang Fried Kway Teow which is lighter in taste while the local version is sweeter using the sweet dark sauce. Even the local style comes in wet or dry version. My preference is the wet version.

Besides the Fried Kway Teow stall which is conveniently located at the coffeshop just next block where I am staying, my current favourite is the Fried Kway Teow at Zion Riverside Food Centre. Each batch is freshly cooked upon order hence be patient with the long queue. I like the Fried Kway Teow here because the wetness of the noodles were just right not overly done. In addition, it comes with a lot of ingredients such as cockles, slices of fish cake, lup cheong (chinese sausage), bean sprouts and egg.
