Elephant Parade Singapore 2011 Part 3

The Elephant Parade is the world’s largest open air art exhibition of decorated elephant statues that seeks to attract public awareness and support for Asian elephant conservation. When the Elephant Parade 2011 came to Singapore back in Novemeber 2011, I decided to go around the island to capture all the 162 life size elephants that are exhibit in various parts of the island.

For the past one month plus I have been going around the island taking pictures of these beautiful decorated elephants by international artists and celebrities. It was the rainy season and many times my plan was disrupted or postponed. Some of the elephants also started to move around as in not they moved by themselves but transported by forklift to more elephant friendly locations which made it harder to locate them.

Nevertheless, I am glad that I persisted and finished the goal that I have set for myself. Enjoy the snap shoots of the 162 elephants on parade in Singapore 2011 below.

There is still a last chance to view all these 162 life size elephants gathered together at Singapore Botanic Gardens, Eco Lake from 8 to 11 January 2012 before they are being auction off.

  1. Will you be catching them before they get auctioned off? All 162 of them will be quite a sight.
